This was brilliant - I bought one of these but the language was in Chinese - thanks to your help I was able to navigate through the menu to change it to English! Absolute lifesaver.
Randy Hulsebos As mentioned in the review it's 'relatively light matte'. The haze value is very similar to the U2913WM but those 21:9 models have a slightly smoother surface texture I'd say. They're similar overall, I hope you enjoy it.
That's quite a subjective thing. I find it perfectly comfortable to read on. It has a fairly light matte screen surface and quite consistent and reasonably bold blacks for text so is quite good for text reading on a white background.
***** First, thankx a lot for a quick reply. Could you please put up a new video where you demo for us how text reading is on this monitor? I am comparing this monitor with dell 2414h
elektrotiko I'm afraid not. We don't have the monitor any more, it's was sent back to Samsung a while back. Text reading is subjective as I said and it isn't something you can capture on camera. It is very similar in that respect to the U2414H. If you have an issue with the clarity on the U2414H (and it isn't correctable by correct ClearType settings) then you won't like this one either. The glossy Dell S2415H (reviewed on our site) may be more appropriate.
Sean Buch Does this issue persist if you connect the monitor up to another system (if you're able to?) It sounds like a fault with the monitor, sometimes touch sensitive buttons do mess up for no apparent reason. :(
Backlight bleed various between individual units of the same model. As you can see in the review linked to, ours had no noticeable backlight bleed. Other users report generally fairly low levels for an IPS-type panel but some do have issues. It's the same with any monitor, no guarantees I'm afraid.
***** thanks for helping .. my current monitor is ASUS VS239HR IPS 23 inch, its almost a perfect monitor but i want to buy a new monitor cause mine had a dead pixels. so I'm not sure.. would it be the same as my current IPS monitor in terms of sharpness, colors, etc..?
i have a problem: my screen doesn't want to calibrate the resolution in maw. So i have blacks border around my screen and it's very bad :( can you tell me what can i do? (sorry for the faults i'm french)
thomas vate If you're using an AMD GPU follow the instructions in this article where it says 'How AMD GPUs handle the HDMI signal - The initial problem - scaling (a simple fix)'. It's about 3/4 of the way down the page - pcmonitors.info/articles/correcting-hdmi-colour-on-nvidia-and-amd-gpus/)
+GamingKing You won't be having that issue if you have an Nvidia card. You are likely seeing a panel border which is integral to the monitor and can't be changed. Can you take a picture?
It should be set automatically as per the review. You need to make sure you've corrected the colour signal as per this article on the GPU itself - pcmonitors.info/articles/correcting-hdmi-colour-on-nvidia-and-amd-gpus/.
Okay good. Then what I'd recommend is observing the Lagom black level test (www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php) with both the 'Low' and 'Normal' setting on the monitor. What you'd ideally see is the first few blocks blending in quite readily and difficult to distinguish from the background, but distinct brightness steps for the remaining blocks (particularly the 4th block onwards). If all blocks are very clearly visible, that's not good. If too many of the blocks are invisible that's also not good.
It has excellent colour quality. Really good out of the box performance on our unit and good 60-72Hz responsiveness. I'd recommend reading the full review.
Apples and oranges really. This has superior colour consistency and accuracy and better responsiveness. The BenQ has superior contrast. It depends what you want from your experience.
ramanjot singh I think you misunderstand. It's extremely subjective and that is a question you have to answer yourself based on your preferences. Both can be used for very enjoyable gaming. Some people prefer better contrast whilst others find the overall responsiveness of VA panels just too slow for gaming and perhaps prefer more consistent colours.

Glad to be of assistance!
@@PCMonitors is it supposed to come in chinese?
Not unless you live in China or the monitor was last used by a Chinese speaker.
are there any ways to access the menu? because mine's touch sensors isn't picking up any input
Monitor looks waay to good to be so cheap. I ordered myself one today, and hopefully it gets here tomorrow.
Yes it's a steal, you'll love it I'm sure.
***** Hows the coating? i hope it's as good if not better then the coating on my Dell U2913WM maybe you've seen it?

Oh thats great to hear, i hate that grainy look.
Sorry i use HDMI.
I assume VGA isn't as sharp as HDMI.
Is there a way to turn up the volume on the monitor?
Are you aware the monitor doesn't have speakers?
@@PCMonitors i was not 🤣
What about pdf/text reading? Is black text being shown smoothly on white background? Frustrating for eyes?
That's quite a subjective thing. I find it perfectly comfortable to read on. It has a fairly light matte screen surface and quite consistent and reasonably bold blacks for text so is quite good for text reading on a white background.

i want to buy Asus VX239H or this model, which is better??? also is this glossy?
asimzb Regarding the VX239H, see my reply to Wild Forest below. And as covered in the review, this has a matte screen surface.
thanks for reply.
does it accept interlaced video, as like any lcd tvs do??
asimzb I'm not sure I'm afraid.
I'm using a Mac with this screen; mini display port to VGA and seems I can't use menu system - buttons totally unresponsive...any ideas?
Sean Buch Does this issue persist if you connect the monitor up to another system (if you're able to?) It sounds like a fault with the monitor, sometimes touch sensitive buttons do mess up for no apparent reason. :(
***** Thanks for the speedy reply - I'll find a PC to hook it up to to test; hopefully not a fault...darn.
These vs Dell s2240l? I'll use it for photo editing. Thanks
If you don't have a colorimeter, the S24D390HL. Better colour setup following simple OSD adjustments.
ok, thanks a lot!
how about backlight bleed?...i heard that it's noticeable

+GamingKing You won't be having that issue if you have an Nvidia card. You are likely seeing a panel border which is integral to the monitor and can't be changed. Can you take a picture?
Do I need to set HDMI black lvl to low on AMD hardware? Low looks better but dark areas in games are really dark
It should be set automatically as per the review. You need to make sure you've corrected the colour signal as per this article on the GPU itself - pcmonitors.info/articles/correcting-hdmi-colour-on-nvidia-and-amd-gpus/.
its set to low from the box...is that ok?
thaares Have you corrected the setting in the graphics driver as advised?
Yeah I have set color range to full RGB in Catalyst

This/ (S24e390HL) or the Dell S2415H?
C_Candie It depends on your preference for matte or glossy really. That is the key difference to focus on.
hows the color quality in this monitor? would you recommend it for image editing, gaming or both?
It has excellent colour quality. Really good out of the box performance on our unit and good 60-72Hz responsiveness. I'd recommend reading the full review.

Ok
So i will buy the cheaper one :p
That's a good way of deciding to be honest! ;)
