Panthers fan here: Bryce getting benched is the best thing for him, and gives me a small sliver of hope, because they made a change early. I was fully expecting them to rock with him till week 10, Canales gets fired and then the interim benches Bryce. This team doesn’t see problems and puts things in to practice early. So even though it won’t help much, just making this change is a step in the right direction. For me at least.
47:56 Play call was trash. No reason whatsoever to risk stopping the clock by throwing it. Even worse kicking a field goal after the drop. Sirianni is just not a good coach.
Firstly: Tom, THANK YOU! Christmas music can all go in the bin. Christmas Carols, especially. Secondly: Cao Cao (pronounced Tsao Tsao) was Prime Minister to the last Han Emperor, a general in his service to put down the Yellow Turban Rebellion (circa 184 AD), became the leader of the Kingdom of Wei when the Han Dynasty basically collapsed, giving way to the Three Kingdoms Era... Interestingly, though the Dynasty Warriors games like to portray him as something of a villain, he never declared himself Emperor, unlike the leaders of the other Kingdoms, or his son, who eventually did. Granted, Cao Cao was more or less using his "loyalty' to the young would-be Han Emperor to effectively be regent, but he never openly betrayed his oaths to the throne, unlike many others in that time period. Since it's football season, I know you don't have time to get into the Dynasty Warriors games which are all about that period (if you do, avoid DW9, they changed the formula and it went very, very badly)... but maybe you have time to check out the film "Red Cliffs". It centers around one of the more pivotal battles of the Three Kingdoms War, and Cao Cao is a very prominent role in the film. Also, it's a really good movie, and the cinematography is GORGEOUS.
As a Panthers fan its like making yourself suffer every week but the good news is that Andy Dalton is at least statistically the best PASSER the Panthers have ever had.
Love how they’re saying NONE of the rookie QBs are playing well, but ignore that JD5 has 410 yards passing, 130 rushing, 75% completion, and 2 rushing TDs
The same thign about Brice could be said about Nix and Wilson over in Denver. Peyton hasn't show he's been able to develop a young qb. His only success came with Drew who was coming off an injury but was already developed. Young guys need to sit and once they take over you cant bench them if you think they are the future. Warner said that about Manning when he was replaced in NY. He said if your gonna start him you need to stay with him ever if he struggles because if you bench him he may never recover. One guy who was for the longest time got called a bust was Alex Smith. He had what 7 head coaches before finding success. After 2011 min you this was 6 season in the nfl. He never had a losing record had 67.5% win rate 1.4 int rate and had a 3:1 td to int rate. Looking back we can all admit Smith got the raw deal in sf and some how was able to turn thign around for himself. I do hope these young guys get the chance to play somewhere where they are being helped and not blamed for team wide issues.
The panthers beefed up their o line by paying a solid, but not remarkable, right guard a $100M contract, to leave Miami in the offseason and come play in Carolina. Miami drafted him and he started basically every season of his career in Miami, and they weren’t even considering giving him that kind of contract. And Miami had a bad O line last year. Their running backs managed to be as explosive as they were, in spite of having more individual offensive line starting lineups, than every team besides the Jets, due to injury last year. Tua had the least time to throw. The o line was about as cohesive as a unit as having 5 puzzle pieces, from 5 different puzzles, being forced into places on a 6th puzzle, every week. Granted, they did pick the most consistent Guard off of that roster. But I don’t even know if they actually evaluated what they were getting, based solely on that contract they gave him.
It's just laziness at this point to go "rookie QBs are bad" and not evaluate each individually. Brandon on several videos now has grouped Jayden as similarly struggling with Caleb and Nix, and that's not the case. Overall Jayden is doing exactly what is being asked of him at the moment. They're not asking him to do too much or too little, and they're definitely putting him in a game manager role early to build his confidence, and it shows. He looks much more poised and confident compared to Williams and Nix; certainly not as frantic as Williams. The offense that's being designed for Daniels is being designed in a way where he doesn't have to throw downfield right now. Yes his air yards are the lowest in the league, but he's keeping the offense moving. Obviously as a Commanders fan, I would love to see him eventually push the ball downfield more and demonstrate mastery of the pocket. He has missed some open receivers and has been a little too conservative by not letting it rip in anticipation of a WR breaking, but the film is also showing that so far coverage of Commanders WR has been very good over the middle and deep. Which means he isn't forcing it. Your biggest concern with a rookie, especially Daniels, is that they're going to try to play hero ball. There's an argument that he is doing that when he runs. Going back to the tape, only 2 or 3 of his runs have ever looked desperate, and the rest have looked confident. The rib shot in the Giants game was a huge concern, but again we find another positive takeaway here. Immediately after that rib shot, they drew up two passing plays and he stayed in the pocket a tick longer than he had at any point prior and made some good throws downfield. And the rest of that drive led to another red zone visit on a day where they had 7 total red zone visits. When things do go wrong, he's reacting and correcting appropriately and hasn't shown any sign that he's rattled. Again, not saying he's been great, or even good, but he's been demonstrably better than Williams and Nix so far.
The panthers oline has been top 5 in pass blocking the past 2 games and the reason the panthers Defense is bad because they continue to ignore the fact they need to draft linebackers
Carolina panthers oline have been top 5 in pff grades. Also temper has been very hands off this offseason and season so let’s kinda take him out of the convo
Bryce also went from a run-first offence with a top 3 offensive line at Alabama to, well, being asked to sling it all over with the Panthers behind their clownshoes O-Line. Is call it sabotage if Tepper wasnt gloriously incompetent.
While mentioning the last few years of quarterback draft, I know you didn’t miss the number one draft pick from 2019 who got rookie player of the year and has made it to a couple pro bowls. Perna, you’re fired. You don’t have to like Kyler Murray to recognize him and what he’s done.
Bryce Young played at Bama so he was essentially a system qb, who got put in the worst position coming into the NFL. He never showed more talent in college than CJ but his “nfl readiness” got him picked first. Readiness doesn’t matter if you are put in a terrible situation
Christian worship: Song of Ascent by Hillsong Christian rap: Lecrae has been great for 20 years straight! He just got mentioned by Kendrick Lamar LAST WEEK.
The draft process creates these issues predictably. Eli Manning got two titles just by saying NO to the Chargers. The really good college players know they are "bait" and they need to refuse and become undrafted free agents! Romo didn't get drafted!
Could they at least do a little research if they're going to so extensively talk about a team? The Oline has been very good this year. Nearly every sack this year has been Bryce's fault either from bad protection calls or straight running into the sack. They traded for Diontae Johnson, a player known for being excellent at getting open. They actually haven't committed any money to defense except Derrick Brown and he's out for the season. The rest of the defense is scraps and waiver pick ups. All the money was spent on offense to help Bryce and he's even worse.
This Christian rock section is taking me back to university man. I binged the hell out of those God's Shiny Tunes compilations. Reliant K, Toby Mac, Switchfoot, Newsboys, Audio Adrenaline. I've mostly deconstructed now. I can't bring myself to get rid of the music though. It was such an important part of my life for so long.
Bashing bad teams just seems overkill. Yes bad teams are bad slow news day? Bryce Young simply needs to play within his skillset. The kid has been pressing instead of just doing what he is best at. Bryce Youngs major flaw is the picks the Panthers traded to get him. Bryce Young was this size when he was drafted so bashing him now is ludicrous.
Packers fans keep saying sitting a qb works. It has also worked to put them in there. And the jury is still out on Love. He had half a season of good games. Pump the breaks
I’m so tired of seeing “half a season” or “8 good games” he had more than that, Rodgers went 6-10 in his first season and he inherited a team that made it to the nfc championship game. I’m not saying love is gonna be the next Rodgers but it’s so dumb that people think he’s gonna stumble. He also had the 2nd most passing touchdowns last season, he’s proved that he can read a defense, he can change a play at the line, he can make plays with his legs and make throws off platform, what else does he need to do?
Love had a Better Completion Percentage, More Yards, More Touchdowns, Less Interceptions, and a Better Passer Rating in his First Season as a Starter than Rogers did in his first Season as a starter. Is Love going to be a Third straight HOF QB? Jury is still out on that. But He’s definitely the Packers Franchise QB.
someone clearly laced the gatorade with injury juice
oof ouch bone hurting juice
45:00 What a bad take, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and Good King Wenceslas are BANGERS
CJ Stroud literally said the same thing about worship music week 1. 😂
Perna’s mic volume might be the only thing more all over the place than Perna’s train of thought
Perna, you should give the band "For Today" a listen.
Tom, Christmas WORSHIP music is freaking beautiful
Seventh Day Slumber's "Lion and the Lamb" is an absolute worship banger!

CJ prays on the sidelines before the game! What do you say to that Perna?
Dominic, praying for you about your mom passing. I'm so sorry 😔🙏🙏🙏✌️
Highly recommend all watch coach gruden pre game analysis of
jets/pats game.
McCarthy and Penix have 0 interceptions so far this season. Best two rookie QBs. 😉
Jaden Daniels doesn’t have any either!
Can't forget Drake Maye
JJ McCarthy is not playing right now he’s hurt knee
Gotta blast some DC Talk lol
43:55 the greatest clip ever made
PERNA NEEDS TO BOLIEVE! He needs a Christian playlist for the Broncos to start winning!
Saw a stat for the Panthers game. Bryce Young had all of 1 snap where he wasn't pressured.
Their offensive line is a complete sieve. They're terrible.
47:56 Play call was trash. No reason whatsoever to risk stopping the clock by throwing it. Even worse kicking a field goal after the drop. Sirianni is just not a good coach.
Also… Perna’s question about Christian Rap- it’s better than the majority of secular Rap now.

33:20 Detroit is bad tho?

7:34 Mr Danzig you need to blame that on Gase more than Darnold
CJ stroud said the same thing about listening to gospel
I'm sending you Hillsong and Bethel Music playlists Perna
Not too many quarterbacks under 5'11" that were good. Buy Bryce Young, some platform cleats!!
The panthers oline has been top 5 in pass blocking the past 2 games and the reason the panthers Defense is bad because they continue to ignore the fact they need to draft linebackers
the broncos are just cursed

If the Panthers pay most of the 1rst overall contract should the Packers trade for Young so MLF can fix him (late round pick swap.)?
Bo just needs to listen to Sabaton.

For perna Run in the night jars of clay
On The Road To Emaous
Skillet is a Christian band and they got bangers
37:58 Lmao Perna Raid 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
"All I Want for Christmas" is an embarrassingly overplayed/ overrated song. Due to that, however, the rest of that album has become underrated.
Perna would be a jojo bizarre adventure fan
The draft process creates these issues predictably. Eli Manning got two titles just by saying NO to the Chargers. The really good college players know they are "bait" and they need to refuse and become undrafted free agents! Romo didn't get drafted!
Kirk Cousins Playlist makes wanna be an elder emo, not a competitive metalcore rock dad.
Pernas list is better then Tom's
Kirk Cousins listening to Dear Maria, Count Me In makes me feel old as shit and I don't like it
Detroit got the best QB in that draft class, aside from Stroud.

Flemlo did a breakdown of sitting vs starting right away and the jury is in. It works to a much higher degree than the alternative.
Speedwagon is that a jojo reference
So there is a Christian ska band called Insyderz and their music could pump you up for sports. Look up 'Awesome God' by them and tell me I'm wrong lol
For the record, I'm essentially atheist at this point but that band brought me so much joy growing up. Also, kj52 or toby mac for Christian rap haha
