Not only is this character a gossip and excellent at getting secrets, but she has stamps of every crest so she can re-seal letters! Incredibly clever, this is someone whose good side I'd want to stay on. ^_^

Yeah, when I saw that drawer full of different seals, my eyebrows went way up. XD Wonder how long it's going to be before somebody else stumbles onto that collection...
to be fair it would probably not be that hard to do just collect wax seals and then use maybe a soft clay or other material to make a mold from the seal and from there you can forge the stamp.
She said the other lady is a spy, but it's her who has all the skills...

This English-french mix is historically accurate. Actually I've learnt in history class from the French revolution lesson, that aristocrats all over Europe spoke a lot of French irrespective of mother tongue. This was to distinguish themselves from the rest of the society; as a sign of royalty, code and sophistication. A literal signal of " you don't belong to our world."

I see a lot of praise for this, but I think the thing that made me tear up was Madame de la Tour and Lady Ashwood. It's such a small thing, but they're French aristocracy and they're referred to as a happy couple that even the despicable Baron would never even try to break up. The sheer casualness of it is appreciated.

This is character could totally be a disguised information broker. Intelligent, Assertive, playful, charming and yet strangely intimidating. Seems like a madam of great standing that will murder you if you don’t actually listen to her words.

@@morgans4977 I had to rewind it when it first happened because it felt so natural. Also the part where she began cleansing the face with the strawberry, my mind went “ick” but then she said not to worry as she was gonna rinse it off lol. The writing and acting for this video is great!
Fun Fact: During the late middle ages the French and English aristocracy were closely aligned (linguistically at least), so the inclusion of both French and English would be common for lower nobles (most higher aristocrats in both countries spoke mostly in French) in either England or parts of France.

Then in Tudor times it was still mostly French, but lots also spoke Latin or German - although the idea of an aristocratic language barrier seemed to dwindle for a while as England wanted to distance itself from other countries. It was at this point that Elizabeth I started the plantations in Ireland and so the British Empire began to expand.
After that, the German-descended Stuarts, followed by the Hanovers, ruled for more than 150 years. There’s a lot of tie-in with the Saxe-Coburgs and the Saxe-Gothes, two ancient German families, but I won’t get into that here. It is the Hanovers from which Queen Victoria is descended and she would have mostly spoken German with her family, although this was kept secret to preserve the idea of British cultural independence and superiority. Still, it was Victoria who popularised Christmas Trees in Britain and without her doing so, Americans might never have started the tradition themselves. I feel it is also interesting to mention that her first cousin and husband, Prince Albert, had “Albrecht” written on his birth certificate and he had very little English at the time of his and Victoria’s wedding.
Victoria also popularised the white wedding dress (before this, blue was most common) and the British drinking of tea - which she had pillaged after invading India. Unfortunately she also popularised tuberculosis among the people living in slums, and she allowed children to work 16 hours a day from the age of 6.
Then Victoria died and WWI happened, and the British monarchy did their level freaking best to stamp out every damn trace of German traditions they had established in the public eye. Even the sale of Christmas trees slowed for a few years in Britain. It’s still considered a secret that the current Royal family is more German than British, only because they themselves never discuss it, but everyone who knows about the royal family knows their true heritage. The irony of me knowing all this is that I actually oppose the existence of a monarchy in any country. Also, I’m Irish and generally an Irish Nationalist at that. So I shouldn’t care about the royal family, and I don’t, yet I seem to know all about them 🤷♀️

I need this to be a series. Like, on Netflix. This character you created is such an interesting one, your build-up for more just was amazing, and I could easily see myself watching five seasons of this woman scheming her way through French court, accompanied by her trusty, but a bit demure (and morally intact) friend from the country perhaps who is thrown in the throws of scandal, secrets and politics. Your cinematography is just incredible and you put so much work into this that watching this for free almost feels like cheating. Well done! Really, really well done! Where can we nominate your channel for the Oscars?
This is exactly like a fantasy I had in my childhood - a royal court’s all knowing grey cardinal who is not so visible yet sees and knows everything and has a chess board representing their machinations with their peers.

Sure! It's not because of the rules, it's because in French "Tour" means "Tower". It's a play word about her name :) so Madame De La Tour means Miss Tower and on the board she is the Tower!

Alright, so I LOVE this concept. I had to look up "The French Court's Game" to see if this was an actual thing that people did back then. Your video was the first to pop of course! 😊 But I wonder if people actually did this back then. You illustrated how I imagine those parties must have been like with the use of the chess board! What I love about you and BlueWhisper, is the amount of production you do with your videos. The surroundings, props and costumes are absolutely amazing and beautiful. You have no idea how much I ADORE this character and the symbolism with the chess pieces
ASMR has never given me a single tingle, which I read can be dependent on the person.
HOWEVER, ASMR makes me feel utterly relaxed, and I can feel the peaceful lull spread heavily throughout my body, typically starting in my lower back before appearing in my skull and it all pulls down to my toes. It puts me in a relaxed daze and makes me feel so hazy and sleepy.
As someone with an extremely high-stress job who struggles with sleep, anxiety, ADHD, CPTSD, and loneliness....thank you.

I just feel really calm and thought that is what ASMR was about.
Like the first time I felt that odd calm feeling (many years ago, before ASMR was a big thing online) was when I watched someone in class just playing around with all the different fabrics to test how they drape, their texture, how see through they were, etc. (I was in a sewing/costume making club)
I couldn’t find any info back then on why watching someone playing with cloth was relaxing so I assumed it was just because I was zoned out watching. I then discovered watching someone else get their hair brushed was also relaxing (but I hate anyone touching my hair), but by that point ASMR had become a thing online so I was just like “huh I guess that makes sense”
