Perk 2: If you do not like your boss and want a different one, you have the option to sell your boss' secrets to his enemies. Perk 3: When the peasants revolt you are not the one being beheaded.

I'm pretty sure when peasants revolted, they'd gone HAAM on everyone in the house. They got so bloodlusted they didn't really discriminate between servants or masters.

Her acting is out of this world in aspects like that. I find I like her non-verbal acting better actually, the little body movements and facial expressions.
I think she mentioned in a reply to someone's comment that these were antiques she bought and some were in her attic so it's possible they had actual dust collecting from over time.
Why is no one talking about that PERFECT transition from snooping to the boss coming home?!?! The way the door squeaks and she quickly rearranges the pages and stands up like she wasn't doing anything. So well done!!

This is sooo up my alley! I'm writing a book about servants in the 1920s currently, so this is going to be the background noise to many of my writing sessions. So beautifully done, Moonlight! New favorite. 🧹

'Below Stairs' by Margaret Powell was very illuminating; 'Life Below Stairs: in the Victorian and Edwardian Country House' by Siân Evans was also so helpful. While I read a lot of memoirs, I'm also making sure to read plenty of fiction to see how other authors stitch the history of servants into their stories. 'The House at Riverton' by Kate Morton might be a good read for you, so might 'The House at Tyneford' by Natasha Solomons. If you can, try to watch the reality show 'Manor House' by PBS; it shows regular people from today's world trying to live as servants did back then, and they recreate everything perfectly. Hop on Goodreads and search 'servant books' and you should find some good stuff there as well. The subreddit r/AskHistorians is helpful too. You can ask anything and people will help you the best they can there. I don't want to overload you, so I'll leave this here and wish you so much luck with your project!

There is something seriously special about this one. The cinematic elements, the time period, your voice, the lighting, the sounds. It's literally perfect. I think there is something special about you taking on the role of a servant. In some ways it relaxes me by helping me feel respected and taken care of. My grand-mother used to have the exact same chair that you sat in at 7:33, and I used to bump my fingers on the rounded studs, and dug into the carving of the wood, just as you did !! Brings back a lot of memories lol Amazing video !
Yes! There was one in my childhood. A neighbour or a relative. I used to do the same and run my fingers over the fluting in the wood and feel the fabric and the upholstery studs. I’d forgot about that until now.

This is PERFECTION. What an original idea! It reminds me of those scenes from period dramas that would unintentionally give me tingles and I had to keep rewatching them over and over (i.e. The Girl With the Pearl Earring). As an American, knowing that some of your old antiques are hand-me-downs are insane. There’s so much elegance. It makes me sometimes wish I could visit Europe and see towns and villages that have the older buildings up to see the art of the architecture.

Words fail me on these videos but I'll try. The thought into each one is second to none. Every detail thought out, clothes and props that match the video. Props that are used to create the best sound effects. The video quality is great. No wasted motion at all. These videos make you feel like you are back in that era. This is PERFECTION. What an original idea! It reminds me of those scenes from period dramas that would unintentionally give me tingles and I had to keep rewatching them over and over (i.e. The Girl With the Pearl Earring). Props that are used to create the best sound effects. The video quality is great. No wasted motion at all. These videos make you feel like you are back in that era. This is up and away my favourite ASMR video of all time. I think a lot of people who, like me, have very stressful jobs find entering into a world so atmospheric profoundly relaxing. Then you don't simply leave it there, but add triggers everywhere. I'm not phrasing this very well. I should just say thank you for such excellent work.
