So far this year, audiences at nearly ninety venues have turned on the lights for BabyMetal.
I was at the Philadelphia one!
If you feel emotional just watching, try being in the crowd. We were mesmerized, particularly when they came together for the humming part and they had a group hug. Many feels were had.

I got emotional too, the first time, second time, and every other time I’ve watched this! Towards the end, you’ll see a close up of Su, and she is almost tearing up too!
On top of it all, this was the first show after Momo’s official announcement and mic’ed up, and the solidarity on display of them linking arms was just such a wholesome and heartwarming event.

I think it's super cute how Momo is hesitant about coming close to Su and then after when Moa pulls away to get ready to dance again, you see Momo look at Moa as if to ask, "oh... do we have to get back to work now?" lol

@@jeremyboynowski3784I think it was great to see Momo standing off to the side, and Su reaches out to her to include her. It's unfortunate to hear what some fans have said about her. With that, Su was saying "Momo is one of us."
There are 3 bands in my musical world that competes of the first place when it comes to live shows, Babymetal, Sabaton and Rammstein. i've seen BM twice this year and getting a smile from Moa is just something else
BABYMETAL Begins was at the PIA MM Arena in Yokohama on 1st and 2nd April. I can't remember the capacity - it wasn't so huge as Japanese arenas go (maybe 10,000-15,000?), but they played there for a couple of very specific reasons - they were revealing Momoko as the new third member (MM = Momometal) and Yokohama is her home town.
They only did one arena concert in the US so far at the LA Forum in 2019 and one in the UK at Wembley Arena in 2016. Everything else they've done outside of Japan (apart from festivals) is in more modest venues of between about 1200 to about 9000 capacity.
This is exactly the sort of spectacle and performance that makes them unmatched. I saw them in London last night in a venue with about 3000 people and even there this moment in Monochrome was magical.
There is an excellent lyric video with the studio version - yes you will love it nearly as much - and they did a special one-off piano version for The First Take that I really think you should do another reaction for.
PIA was 10,000. It's smaller than Makuhari, so it was harder to get tickets. According to people I spoke to at the show, the other bigger venues in Yokohama were all booked that weekend so Babymetal had to use PIA.

The seating capacity of the LA Forum is 17,500, but the upper deck was closed off for the BABYMETAL concert.
Wembley Arena can hold up to 12,500 people.
BABYMETAL's biggest shows were the back-to-back nights at Tokyo Dome in September 2016, with 55,000 people per night.

well TY-Metal, they played this song all over the USA from Aug-Oct, you should have come and joined us, it was very emotional for most of us, but before you go to the next song, you need to check out the piano version from the First Take channel.

No need to apologize for pausing and praising their stage setup. This kind of productions are actually one of my favorite BABYMETAL things.
That moment with the phone lights and Su-metal calling Moametal and Momometal (on her first concert as an official member) became an instant favorite BABYMETAL moment. And I'm not ashamed to say that it gets me every time. 🥹
The studio version is good, very well produced as the rest of the album. But this live version is waaaaay better.
This venue is the PIA Arena MM in Yokohama. It has a capacity of around 12.000 people.

It's completely normal to get emotional during this song. But witnessing it live, nine days ago in Berlin, took it to a whole new level for me. It was so epic that I can't find any words to describe it.
There's one small part in this song that always gives me chills too. And that's the little ear candy at the beginning of the song. It is that low frequency bass right after the second drum roll. Standing in the crowd, just a few meters in front of the subwoofer makes you feeling it through your whole body 😄

Monochrome is my favorite song and this song made me want to cry when I heard this song live during their World Tour in Jakarta. :')

This show is one of Babymetal's best if not the best. The drone shots are insanely good. They really capture the ladies beauty.
Such a beautiful track - I love everything about it - from the ticking timer sound at the beginning to the last second :) And the lead ins for their tracks when live really make them - a shame there isn't more on the albums with that sort of thing
Love Su’s voice so much. She may not be in the top 100 vocalists in the world but she is definitely one of my top 5 favorite singers
Well amongst metal vocalists she might be up there depending on who you ask. Guitar Lobby placed her on #6 of the best female metal vocalists 2021, 2022 and 2023 as by far the youngest in this list of epicness ;)

You only overestimated the crowd size by 10 times. It was 10 000, not 100 000.
That said: if everyone puts op their lights it really shows how many people there are in an audience, normally when you see a dimly lid venue from a far you can't see every single person not so much...
Sorry, it 12141 seats in the stands, but with standing on the grounds it is 25000.
I re-discovered BabyMetal some months ago. I don't know why, but for so many of their performances and songs I get SO emotional. I understand you man, I have teared up so many times, and I don't even completely understant what is it that makes it soooo emotional. I had never teared up and choked like that while listening to Metal music. It's just WILD. It's become a dream of mine to watch them live at least once.
