The traditional food of Albania is one of the best I have ever eaten. I fell in love with Albania and its culture. My heart cries every time I think of Albania, I miss it so much. Once they come here, they change totally their misconceptions. Even diplomats working in Albania usually say that ; we come crying to Albania( don't want to come) and we go crying from Albania( they don't want to leave anymore)... Best thing about albanian food is that it doesnt matter if you go go small family bistro in the middle of nowhere or lovely restaurant in Saranda or Himare - food taste is just great, always. Fantastic country.

What you ate is called souvlaki in Greece too, it's the general name of such street food,that has stayed very usual in the north Greece. Gyros is this meat you eat, I mean, cooked in this way. Souvlaki in Greece means skewer, you see, so this name came from the fast food meat we sell in skewers. Anyway, we don't put hot sauce. At least not usually. Souvlaki is Greek food, but Albania is a country made of many nationalities, including Greek, so we have many in common when it comes to food, scenery and even we have commons in our language. I want to visit Albania one day. Seems cool

14 years ago an American had rented a room of my house. He was able to speak Albanian language almost perfect. Only my grandparents were living there, I was not there. But I can't remember why he lived 1 year in Albania and why he learned the Albanian language.🤔 Btw I hope you enjoy your time in Albania.

Congrats, really nice videos of Albania. I'm watching them all!!! What places or cities would you advise me to visit this November in Albania? I only have 5-6 days because I need time to visit Serbia as well. Honestly what I've seen from Albania looks better to me.

Thanks for this video. Before Covid I had planned this great big European adventure. I know Europe will be open to us Americans again eventually. But I am impatient and I need my travel fix. I’m looking into going to Albania now in about January or February

Not all are gyros some are doners but yes there are greek fast food there aswell
@@morado5827 that particular shop was basically selling greek fast food though.A lot of Albanians worked in fast food places in Greece.So its not strange that they copied it.

Man ,you are going to visit the most ancient country of all Europe( check to Google for this info).and it has the most ancient language of all Europe..so good trip.but God doesn't stop here..He gives Albanians beautiful nature,lakes, seas, mountains,hills fields,good food,history and more.

Gyros called souvlaki not only in Albania, but and in south Greece (Athens, Crete). Here in north greece, gyros is called gyros, and souvlaki is a different type of meat.
