I wish the Camaro would go back to a hatchback and convertible. Being born in 1977, the 1982 through 92 Camaro hatchback and convertible is kind of all I knew.
@wildbloodydragon 0-60 in 6.1 sec was pretty good back then. To put it in perspective, the 2008 Challenger SRT8 does 0-60 in 6.2 secs. The LT1 camaro will keep up with a corvette of simular vintage until about 80-90mph.
I bought my 94 Base coupe on a whim (and for $550 for a good running car is hard to pass up), but I hated the body style. But 2 years later when I was in the market for anther car I looked at a few 3rd gens (my fav camaros) and they were beated to death. Happened to find a 93 Z28 for sale at a used car lot for $1600. Bought it and now 2 months later, I couldn't be happier. The fun to drive factor is neck and neck with my 73 AMX. The first thing I did was upgrade the Optispark w/ an MSD unit.
wow this makes me realize how old my 95 Z28 really is - even though it still looks new. That was such a characteristic cheesy 90s video. good thing the car is timeless!
I can say this. I have a 94 z28 in my garage It’s my soon to be retirement project, Fuel lines cracked(nylon lines) , rear braked frozen, on its 3 opti spark, door skins coming unglued , and to many other issues to list. Maybe doing a Coyote swap on it very soon.
If you read any old magazines, the brakes were hailed for being excellent as well. Unfortunately, compared to newer sports cars, the '93-'97 don't even seem like they have any brakes at all!
and to think it took mustang until 2005 to meet/beat the horsepower number with the GT. cobras and mach 1's don't count cause they were special edition models. Base Z28 vs base Mustang GT.
How are those just good numbers for back then ? They were underrated power ratings too. These babies run even in the 13's consistantly, and whip my 2002 GT's ass often. I don't care so much above the car as being quality, but it certainly kicked some ass. And still does, faster than most modified 4's and even 8's out there. Obviously the LS1 models stepped it up too, but the LT1 has it easy with some parts being very cheap. The car has basically no value so it's affordable power
Lool for us Europeans this clip is sooo super embarrissing from the minute 1:40 with all those looser types of people who say how much they love the Camaro......but in reality the dont own that car and maybe never drove it also 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤣🙄 But hey, here are also a lot of muscle car enthusiasts and I own a Camaro 2001 and a 1995 Firebird 🤩👍 Cool cars but this promotion clip.......🤡🥴 How much payed Chevy for those ridiculous people?🤦♂️🤣
@CamaroAmx WRONG!!!! U clearly love smoking crack if u believe that. An 08 will post 5.4 all day and Motortrend got it down to a 4.7. Now, I'm a Mopar guy but GM has a special place in my heart and I love all cars, but don't spew false info.
Ahhh, those were the days when it was GM vs. Ford. Now it is American vs. rice to me. Heck, I even own Ford(s), thats plural, now. The 80's and 90's were so much better than this crap we got to live in now with that idiot obama in the White House.
these camaros had the mose unique look out of all camaros, and it takes a while for the look to grow on me, but i like it now.
ive always liked how they look
Ive always liked the look of the 4th gen firebirds
Holy shit I’m 10 years old again…….I love these cars I’m 37 and I just bought a restored 94 z 28 6 speed.. hehe it’s bad ass

We really didn't realize just how good cars were in the 90's...

How’s it look now lol
@@DerickW. I still have it. It could use a mechanical refresh but appearance looks the same as it always has.
i have a 95 red z28 and man i couldnet agree with you more i love my car
I just time traveled, I think I'm gonna go to DI and pick up some 90's clothes and take pictures with my Camaro just to relive this "Rad" era!
now that was a great video! I liked just see it on the Track unlike all the other vids showing Burnouts.
6.1 was really good back in the '90s. Now, sports cars are in the 4.5 to 5.0 range, and it's making us look slow lol

I remember the Hotwheels Camaro racer as a 1:18th scale die cast.

Never owned a pair of stone washed jeans, but I still have my stone washed Jean jacket…..
Does anybody but me drive this who didn't just walk off a Dukes of Hazard set?
It’s South Carolina, most of them sound like that.
i time my 97 z28 at 5.4 seconds to 60. ls1 can manage 5.2 seconds.
You're timing was off then,No stock LT1 Camaro could do 5.4 0-60.
