Bought this car in december 2020. Couldn’t pass on the nice discount because of Mazda’s 100th anniversary. Mine is called Takumi and has the same front grill, same rims and wood trim on the doors and dash as well as Napa leather. It wasn’t marketed as a 2021 model, but it seems there is no difference.
Pros:
1) Very economical. 6.5 l/100 km after a 1500 km trip with my girlfriend and 2 suitcases of luggage. Mostly travelled on the highway at 130 km/h.
2) Really comfortable. Didn’t feel tired after 500+ km in one go. That wasn’t the case with my old 2009 Mazda 6, which I also liked a lot.
3) Great quality of the materials inside.
4) Looks amazing. People turn their heads all the time.
5) Big boot
6) Has virtually everything you need in terms of safety features and extras. Saved me from bumping into a parked car while reversing once. Also, not gonna buy a car without ventilated seats ever again.
Cons:
1) Quieter than the old Mazda but still noisy at higher speeds.
2) Cylinder deactivation at speeds between 40 and 80 km/h causes a slight vibration which is a bit annoying.
3) Obviously cheap front and rear cameras with bad resolution which is kinda sad considering it’s 2020. That’s no longer the case with the 2021 CX-5, hope they have fixed it here too.
4) Tiny brake discs, especially on the rear wheels. The car could definitely use more stopping power. Drove a 2017 E200 Mercedes recently and its brakes are great.
5) Infotainment system is a bit slow to respond.
Man what is it with mazda 6 and vibrations. I had a mazda 6 once, Great car but once it got close to 100 km/h the damn thing wouldnt stop vibrating. It would only get worse until i passed that mark and then would suddenly just disappear. Never understood what that was all about
@@MarvoloSalazar That's probably cylinder deactivation which still turns on at 100 km/h and is not up until 80 km/h as I said. I guess the balance of the engine is disrupted, so the faster you go, the more it will vibrate. It's nice to look at 3l/100 km fuel consumption at that speed but I still find it unnecessary because this is not a V8.
@@GMDimitrov indeed well said. i used to hate that shit. And since mine was an old model the vibration was very noticeable. First day i got it, almost shit my pants thinking my car was about to break down in the middle of a busy freeway at high speeds lol. Still, i loved that car more than any other. Made me super biased towards mazda. By the time i was done it had clocked 325k which was shocking considering how little care i had given it and it was still running though overheating issues had creeped in by then
The Mazda 6 and the Toyota Camry are some of the best and most reliable executive sedans in history! Great video Joe!

In terms of design maybe, in quality wouldn't be so sure however I agree it's one of the better cars out there
My first car was a Mazda 3 with 3 previous owners and a little under 100k miles. Ran like a dream and gave me no issues at all. I knew then that the next car I'd own would be a Mazda again.

Mazda is a really loved brand for me. I have never owned one but I've driven a lot, since a little mx5 to a beastie MPS. I would like to drive a RX-7. Any RX7 with turbo. Uffff. Good test Joe!!!!

I own a 2015 Mazda 6 with this same engine and a 6 speed manual gearbox. They are great cars.
Does the 2.5l engine come in manual? Or you own one with the 2.0l petrol?
@@slike87 I live in the US and from 2014-2017 the Mazda 6 only came with the 2.5l petrol engine for the US market. You could get it with either a 6 speed manual or a 6 speed automatic. Other markets might be different.

I've not own a Mazda yet but I've driven a 3 and a 6 and I love how it drives! My only issue with the Mazda 6 is the only the Wagon has a sunroof. :') Still gonna get it real soon!

Ogladam jazde i Polska sie klania. Bylem zdziwiony bo wyswietalaja mi sie glownie POV z nowego kontynentu. Nowa mazda 6 to piekne auto. Niestety, nie na moje kanadyjskie warunki, ale chetnie bym taka przytulil w innym klimacie. W UK mialem mazde 6, kupiona po porazce z grupa VAG (skoda sie psula na potege) i mazda nigdy mnie nie zawiodla. Teraz zona jezdzi mazda 3 jako drugie auto w domu i zero problemow. Kupiona w salonie, regularnie utrzymywana (mazda, nie zona :D) i zwraca sie bardzo wdziecznie. Ktokolwiek zastanawia sie nad zakupem mazdy: nie zastanawiaj sie, bierz jezeli sie podoba, nie zawiedziesz sie.
Też mam podobnie. skoda superb 3 psuję się dość mocno przy 50k mil padła skrzynia dsg:D i waham się nad mazdą 6 2.5 automat. Ale czytałem że te silniki mają problemy przez większą kompresję silnika?

Somewhere in the world, 2 litre engines produce 300+ horsepower. Mazda is trying its best to reach 200 hp with a 2.5 litre engine. Good to go buddy...
Those smaller engines use a turbo. And that turbo is making sure that the engine won't last more than 15 years on average, depending on usage. Also the turbo itself can malfunction and need repairs/replacement.
@@user-bs1wx1tb7e Those stories has lasted confidently in the previous decade. Today, people have been using new generation turbo engines for over 15 years. Good maintenence keeps your costs down and makes it last longer. These turbo engines provide incredible eco figures when needed and produce sufficient horsepower when needed. Atmospheric engines are not able to do both at the same time.
The best car ive owned is. 2010 mazda 6 sport was perfect really powerful amd drove with such grace.All my friends agreed and In have had some decent car range rover evoque in 2017 1 years old bmw 320 d 2012

Nie ma to jak Mazda, aktualnie mam taką 2.5 T i przyznam szczerze, że jest to najlepsza 6tka w historii mazdy, a jeździłem już czteroma poprzednimi modelami.
Możesz coś więcej napisać? Myślę o takiej. Obecnie jeżdżę GH, wcześniej miałem GG. Jak z wygluszeniem, przyspieszenie, układ jezdny?

Car is amazing,I own first serie 6, Hopefully will upgrade one day to a newer one,nevertheless I'm satisfied with how is Mazda built,can definitely compete with some brands in Europe,btw, Which watch is that on your wrist? Probably because of the quality of the fuel. In Europe the lowest type of fuel is the same as 91 in the US, the 187hp figure is probably rated for 89 fuel.
@@maarten8959 this is not for the fuel...on the US market the G192 engine was rated with a lower HP due to a different compression ratio - 13:1 in the US vs 14:1 in the rest of the world. Anyway the US fuels are evaluated in a different manner than the EU fuels....but the quality is more or less the same, despite the different numbers.

Mazda's direct injection is very noisy. They all sound like that.

Auto trzeba piłować prawie do czerwonego pola gdy diesel 2.0 lub turbobenzyna 1.6-2.0 o podobnej mocy zrobią to samo w średnim zakresie obrotów bez ryku. Dla mnie zatem auto raczej do poruszania się po mieście częściej niż po trasie. Jeśli wolnossące 2.5 to w Camry bo po mieście świetne spalanie przy dużych gabarytach a i na trasie sobie poradzi bez problemu.
The older 2013-2015 Mazda 6 Skyactiv-G 2.5l naturally aspirated accelerates second faster than this newer 2021 version.
Not true, acceleration is same, 2018 model is 100 kg heavier but has more power and torque

Miałem do czynienia z mazda 6 przez tydzień i powiem szczerze nie jest wart swoje ceny niestety...
Na plus to prowadzenie, wyciszenie (Miałem grubsze szyby przednie boczne) wnętrze ciekawe, prowadzenie spoko, wygląd przodu mega.
Minusy: tragiczna skrzynia( bardzo wolna, krótka) sam system multimedialny słaby, silnik potrzebujący dużych obrotów żeby coś pojechać i spalanie jak na noc mogło by być niższe, tempomat aktywny bardzo średni nie ma płynności w jego działaniu jak w przypadku konkurencyjnych marek.
Ale za to Cię nie zawiedzie jak auta z niemiec:)

Comfortable, yes without hesitation. Travel 1000km/day on occasion and have no issues with comfort. Believe the latest edition has ventilated seats in addition to infinite adjustments. Much improved sound insulation as well.
Yes they are. For some reason they have smaller door openings on the front, then previous gen Mazda6 (GH Series). I think its because they sloped the windscreen more and raked the front A pillars. Anyway it can make getting in and out a tad harder for taller drivers.
