Loving the easy tunability of the sedan like small trunk spoiler, front lip and lowering springs can make this car look even better than it is right now. It might sound really basic but owning a first gen 6 and having these mods i can confirm that it can make the car gorgeous
because it is huge outside (5m long) and very small inside, smaller than skoda rapid, has poor noise insulation, small trunk, cheap interior materials, which get worn by 50.000km, and weak engine . Also don't forget the thin painting layer, which covers with chips and scratches very easily.

I recently topped my 2015 2.5 sw at 225 on the GPS.. still had some power left, but this was more than enough :-) great car on the Autobahn! The 100 to 200 goes smoothly.

It accelerates pretty nice until 140-150km/h. After 150, the longer gear ratios will make the car accelerate slower. Mazda needs an 8-speed auto transmission. The 6 speed is refined, reliable transmission, but it needs more gears. I wish Mazda would have brought the 2.5 turbo, that is sold in US and other countries. That 2.5 turbo makes 250hp and 430Nm with the US equivalent of 98 gas from Europe. With 100 or 102 octane it would probably make more
I think it's lack of power also. At 150kmh you got quite a lot of air in front that it has to push through. That is correct, it's sad that the turbo is not in EU.
I have the 2018 turbo in Canada. Absolutely love the acceleration. It's sad that it's not available everywhere. I actually assumed North America was the place that was missing out on mazda since we don't have the wagon here. Most car reviewers already complained that this model has been stuck at 6 speeds. But I have a feeling it will change in the upcoming 6 released this year.

Interesting you write this. Some people said it is also loud. I had Suzuki Kizashi 6 speed 2013 which was loud on highway. I guess Mazda adressed this issue since 2017. You can isolate the body from inside it takes a time patience and it costs but it could be done. Im considering buying 2013/2014 and if needed isolate the cabin from inside by myself.

My 2.0 MZR gets really loud at around 140 km/h and that's kinda annoying since I'd like to talk normally and not screaming to my girlfirend while driving fast. Anyone can confirm if the noise insulation is better on the 194?
@@nizari116 Tires can make a big difference. newer models have a thicker windscreen to reduce wind noise. for me, driving is about the feel, performance, and experience, so i would rather have less features, a simple and comfortable interior, good efficiency and performance than unnecessary curb weight and all these fancy modern electronics and features which i never use. even the touch screen in my GS (Touring) model I hardly ever use.
I do like this car a lot, however, I think Mazda should fix the 5th gear problem. Mazda 3, for instance, now has more torque and goes up like a little rocket!

In person it actually is quiet. It doesnt feel too peppy but yeah you dont even realize that you are moving fast already. Lets say you were 60kph on the free way and wanted to move up the freeway, accelerate and damn you wont know that you are already at 130 because all you are focusing on is the road. I drive the cx5

Impressive for a non-turbo 4cyl! Watching this caused me to wonder what effect heavy EV's will have on the Autobahn. This could be wrong, but someone told me heavy trucks and any vehicle over a certain weight are banned from the far left lanes of the Autobahn? Of course EV's won't weigh nearly as much as a large truck...but it would be the equivalent of thousands of large American SUV's every single day...and that's hard on the tarmac underneath.

This is mainly because of the consumption. You can roll in the 5th gear at 70-80kmh and have very low consumption. Overall that engine is quite interesting as it's compresion ratio is 14:1 similar to diesel.
@@The_Touring_Jedi the car actually attempts to shift into 6th at 70km/h and rarely ever stays in fifth past that speed unless the engine load is high enough. The engine holds spectacularly well from 1500rpm or even less. my north american spec model is now fully tuned for 91 octane, and the gearing feels far better optimized than it ever did on stock 87 octane tune. with that being said, while I would like gears 4,5,6 to be slightly shorter (As in the manual transmission) , it is suitably geared nonetheless for the way the vehicle is actually meant to be driven. (ie. NOT as seen in this video, the vehicle will do everything it can to cut power and shift into the next gear unless you are at or near full throttle).

The car is extremely stubborn about holding gears and physically does everything it can to prevent you from revving past 1750rpm before shifting into the next gear. the real solution here would be more gears or even a cvt.
The car goes actually fine until it shifts into 5th. It should have either shorter 5th and 6th gears or more gears. Or have bigger/more powerful engine of course, something with ~180kW would suit this car and it's suspensions capabilities.
Engine sounds like there are rocks inside. Very rough tone to me. Also..Strange 1s whine sound when changing gears that in present in all the Mazda 6 that I test drove brand new over the years. I find it unacceptable personally. But otherwise I really like everything else about the car.

I believe the updated models have better sound insulation. upgrading to the 2.5L is def worth it. you get more torque, but it does not use more fuel.
I confirm I have to scream when driving faster than 140 km/h in my 2.5L. Its the only thing about this car that sucks

Es ist nun mal Rechtsfahrgebot. Wenn dann gefährden sich die langsam fahrenden selber. Das Problem liegt dort aber nicht beim überholenden.

@@Ammerstol nop. Not the same reliability. Check the stats and ask your local mechanics. Remember that mazda statysticly compare to others companies is very small. They are not as reliable as other brands
