Actually 1st turn Yubel really hurts, I tested it , first turn Dis Irae, Phantom Yubel, and Varudras on the field is literally pain

nice video, I've been playing Yubel but the version with Super poly because I love this card, but one of the things that improves a lot with Phantom is Eternal Favorite, because you use the phantom effect and summon Yubel so you have a super poly on the entire field Just because you have the phantom + Eternal, it's very good if you already have a squirmer in your hand and don't have anything for Search. :)

The thing is that we most likely win anyways if we can combo this far but its a nice option to search! i like it way more than before 100%
i also really love superpoly, GX is my favorite yugi anime! i love almost everything out of it , From heroes, to crystal beasts - even ancient gears!
and if there is a meta deck in the future thats weak to superpoly, yubel is one of the strongest decks to utilize it!
There is the connection between the two Yu-Gi-Oh GX players you both got to make a video together that would be very fun 😎

Seeing people play Yubel without Super Polymerisation physicly hurts me almost as much as Phantom is short printed 😞

As soon as i hear the voice acting I immediately smile..... then notice Chamber in the hand. Always glued there dammit. Before commenting anything else, I paused the video on Accesscode and thought "that @#%#@% has balls of steel allowing Access to start popping waiting for a misplay" Then boom Throne turned the game. But after your explanation I totally understand. I take risky plays but that was on another level.
Great display of what the deck can do. Instead of wombo combo (cough cross sheep cough) just solid plays with Phantom as an insurance, and I really liked that you kept your interruptions for whatever was necessary.
What I found missing are the side patterns. I'm a big fan of the thought process behind the action, so in the "Talk about game 1" I would have loved to hear your expectations for Game 2, and then compare that with what you actually got during the "Talk about Game 2". I find these segments incredibly educational for newer players but even experienced ones can learn (and this type of content is rare or paywalled)
Outstanding video, both the duels as well as the voice acting. I would have been fine with just dueling but I have to appreciate the effort, and the VA was on point!! Congratulations to everyone working on that!!!
Now for the matches specifically:
- Game 1 with Tenpai
Perfect gameplay, but when you have Muck on board, consider placing Yubel in defense. While it won't help against Raigeki, it's very good against Storm. Not to save Yubel, but to tribute it for Muck since it isn't "marked for destruction" thus being a legal tribute.
If you fear disabling Samsara before Phantom is used, you can still mark Phantom with Samsara's effect and Muck will protect it as well. This is incredibly situational but it might help you in a weird spot (muck also makes Escape pop the opponent's card without popping the unchained, thus bypassing the annoying "both" keyword)
- Game 2 with Tenpai
It's very typical to activate the field spell then use Paidra to secure the search, and then activate the field's effect to search for another dragon and set up seals. So it was a really good Ogre, and it would have been extremely risky on their part to eat an Imperm/Ash on Paidra then Ogre on the field spell when they typically don't care about the former cards.
For your turn, negating Cosmic with Varudras would have allowed a Nib (chundra was unknown) to wipe your board, again great play. Personally, since in BP Veiler/Nib are dead, I would have allowed them to summon a dragon with the quickplay so they have 1 less good top deck. Varudras attacked anyway so they either get negated or lose the body in damage step due to the first effect. On that note, I love this effect because it's even less known that the last effect we trigger with Yama from gy.
I have mixed feeling about this type of card design, but Tenpai without the field spell would be dragon War Rocks.
-Game 1 with Voiceless
Now that you mention it, during early LeDe none interacted with Beckoning now I get double-handtrapped there. But Yama has always been a handtrap magnet. Trading Veiler with a potential Rage + Escape or Apo (Rage/Chamber) is a good deal
- Game 2 with Voiceless
Well nice Melodious deck. That IP could have been Exciton Knight into full Fiendsmith combo even with Closed Sky not legal. I have high expectations for the deck. About that Imperm on Samsara, they have PTSD from Talent. I understand 0 ATK monsters don't threaten Apo so good on their part. I would have lost that duel because I don't use Almiraj lol. The Imperm on Terror is an honorable surrender.
This game was more the opponent losing it than you winning it, but we take those.
To be honest I'm a bit disappointed by many Yubel feature games on various channels, ignoring hand knowledge and still the deck isn't utilized to its full potential. I'm not talking only about optimal plays but also missing secondary effects. I met a former testing group on my trip and none respects the deck (they are on 6 snakes and 2 melodious) and it's a bit sad.

And sadly it’s true.. all the feature matches I’ve seen so far are really.. lackluster?
I mean to be fair, the deck isn’t really easy to play but that’s probably the reason why a lot of people underestimate Yubel! In the future if they do that, they will get caught off guard by the strength of the deck!

I love this deck and been playing it for some time now, especially with the new support and Phantom of Yubel is just OP. I've noticed that alot of deck profiles run 1 Yubel and, it might just be me, but I've been having fun running 2 Yubels. It helps out with getting Varudras faster. Idk...it all works out in the end ^_^ Love the videos Trinity!

And yea running only two makes it a little bit hard here and there to have access to the varudras but in return your hands are less often filled with big monsters and the combos still work with only one! :)

I find the best normal combo Throne + Beckoning beast acces is following:
Beckoning beast
Gates -> search 2. beckoning
Throne -> search samsara
Normal samsara
Dont activate effect, after ash you dont have much
Link Yama -> search red dog
Now use gates discarding second gates (or 2. beckoning beast, or dead card in hand)
When you now get ogred you can chain red dog, pop yama, after that gates will be destroyed and yama triggers to summon samsara anyway. --> from here you can go straight into gryphon line, or end with yubels on board
If no ogre:
Samsara eff
Ghost
Pain -> search squirmer -> ss og yubel
Important! No field spell eff
Now red dogo in hand pop og yubel
Og yubel eff ss terror
Inportant! No field spell eff
If your opponent now nibs you, you have too much followup, because field spell still live.
Now you use ghost + beckoning beast for phantom.
--> completely nib proof
Now ss squirmer from hand, popping terror.
Fieldspell triggers, ss ghost from deck
Link squirmer and red dog into rage
Rage + yama = apollusa for 2
Set abom chamber
Squirmer in gy, ss og yubel
Og yubel + ghost = varudras
Endboard:
Yama in gy
Rage + abom chamber
Varudras
Apollusa with 1600 atk (protected by battle, cause pain)
Phantom
No nib, still good plays through ash or ogre.
I think Beckoning and throne is the best combo too but i wouldn't search for samsara cause of ash blossom.
Instead i go for pop spirit and then summon Yubel then go for Yama and now Phantom with Yubel and Beckoning (4th summon).
Now you can play under nibiru, ogre, ash and still have a very good board if your opponent use some handtraps like end with gryphon etc..
The endboard without handtrap is :
Apo 1600
Phantom
Varudras
Chimera with Princess in GY
Rage / Chamber
No Yama in GY

I've come to learn from mirror matches that Yama is low key the best place to veiler or imperm, simply because it's the least interactable by the Yubel Player. If your only hand trap is veiler then it's probably the best place to use it.

I was wondering if you thought about making a full comprehensive combo guide/spreadsheet for yubel. The main combo lines I've been working on fully memorizing myself are:
Lotus 1 card combo
Throne 1 card combo
Lotus + beckoning beast/spirit gates
Throne + beckoning beast/spirit gates/lotus because throne can just search whichever you're missing
I haven't gone further into more niche combo lines yet but I also want to fully figure out a combo line for drawing nightmare pain with lotus, beckoning beast, spirit gates, spirit, grave squirmer, and yubel.
The 1/1.5 card combos are pretty straight forward but I think this deck really shines when it comes 2/2.5 combos. The amount of combinations that lead into stuff is just ridiculous...

the thing is : We dont need it. while it helps to link climb, we can do that without it. If our combo goes through, we win anyways.
cross-sheep is not bad by any means. if you are a big fan of it, i wouldnt call you crazy for playing it.
as of now for me personally : i dont see any reason to include it!

Which before you woukd end with amblo and princess. So i just cut that as it can be kind of risky with the fire lock. However i will be cutting cross sheep when fiendsmith comes out. So its a weird spot where you the play the deck like this for a month. I also had included chaos angle in my current build as it makes so much sense with phantom and squirmer/samsara so easy to get out it will help with otks

I tried to scout for imperm!
If you go into phantom first and they have imperm, you have to link phantom and lotus into muck so you basically wasted one phantom!
If they imperm lotus on summon, you can link Yubel and lotus and THEN go into phantom :)
Veiler basically follows the same principle

So only do muck if you don’t have any other choice!
But even under the fiend lock, you can in theory still put a very good board to the table with Rage, phantom of Yubel, samsara and the gryphon!

I think I mayyy have devised a strategy to secure a win against Tenpai in 80% of cases. It does involve a bit of a strange board so I wonder what u would think about it

@@TrinityYGO yea anyway so the end board that i ended on would be barricadeborg blocker mucraker Gustav cannon super Dora and Phantom of yubel with eternal favourite and pain in the backline. Basically I realised that we shouldnt waste our resources on interruptions when they are unnaffected anyway, but we should focus on making Boards that they cant break trough. Example. Just having 2 yubel monsters on the field plus Phantom makes IT impossible for them to otk u. Plus with eternal favourite u have super poly, mucracker to protect from black rose dragon monster pop and blocker to protect pain our most Important spell and super Dora to give unnaffected protection to any monster on the field.
I look for Boards that we Can get to without relying on handtraps

Can i have a few question?
1, Why did you chose to run 3 opening, 3 beast? Isn't 3:1 or 3:2 ratio better? Because everyone knows that we should imperm the beast, you can clog up on normal summons.
2, Why did you chose running skill drain in side? I tried it, but i felt like if i can already establish a board, skill drain doesn't add much value to my end board. Also if i can't access to the grave squirmer, i feel like i can't really play under skill drain either.
3, ever since the deck came out, i feel like the handtrap version isn't good enough, and the board breaker approach is better. One reason is that the deck is quite bricky. If i draw 1-2 brick, i can't really play through on that many interruptions, and especially going into boards. The other reason is i often draw hands with 1 brick, 2-3 playable card, and 1 hand trap. That one hand trap won't stop any good deck in this meta, and i just handloop myself. But if that hand trap would be a high impact one, or a board breaker, it would add so much more value than a single ash blossom.

Instead of amblo, you go with duelittle and use it to grab sharvara from the GY to the hand and thenyou can pop the princess to get rid of the fire lock :)

Do standard princess line then reach proxy and fuse out a phantom and get something else there to potentially go into a varudras or muckracker to go into the gryphon lock (it feels a little more useful then do little)

no, its 100% not necessary! the 3rd one rarely ever comes up and if you really need it in a LONG grind game, you can just pass up on one body off the nightmare throne and recycle phantom instead :)

Totally agree with TrinityYGO here, Nightmare Throne recycles plus if you're deck engine is very fluid the 3rd one pretty much swappable for other better cards to be summon
So based on ur testing ghost ogre is the best rn other than droll, nib or mourner?
mourner is really good, i think you can find a lot of arguments for them but it really comes down to what you expect to face. i respect Tenpai, Voiceless, melodious and purrely too - even the mirror with phantom of yubel will be more common so i think ogre is solid.
Post INFO - ogre is not really good, with fiendsmith - droll is a lot better!
Feel like this video is way better if you talk over the games as they happen and not after. The voice lines don't do anything for me personally and the gameplay is so slow I almost want to skip past it, but the rest of the video doesn't mean anything without watching the gameplay. Mostly here for the decklist it seems.

How you start always with Nightmare Throne?
i dont know, i played like 7 duels and see it quite often!
but if you think about it : Nightmare throne is basically the same as Samsara + ANY extender.
so even if you dont see throne, the chance is very high that you still have the same combo potential in your hand :)
Trinity, you’re a good yubel pilot, but that tenpai player was just so dumb, idk why he didn’t hit the field spell, it would’ve stopped the whole combo if he did

If Phantom of yubel is removed via. card effect, you can activate the fieldspell to special summon a level 10 yubel monster! (Spirit or OG Yubel!)
and also if a lvl 10 yubel monster is removed, you can activate throne to put phantom back into the extra deck!
Phantom of Yubel can be a deck mill as well throwing all other version of Yubel straight to the GY if needed

My question is why do play Promethean and not Cross-Sheep? With Sheen could you easy going into Link-4 like Unchained Abomination or Cross-Sheep can summon Lotus formore Interrupts.

The princess isnt ONLY there to extend, its there to protect and give more resillience against cards like Dark ruler/droplet or even super poly.
if you dont play princess and go for a cross-sheep combo, maybe incorporating apollousa, that endboard gets beaten by boardbreaker a LOT more than with the princess.
but like i said : cross-sheep is not bad by any means. if you are a big fan of it, i wouldnt call you crazy for playing it.
as of now for me personally : i dont see any reason to.
