Takes a further different path to get this variant (allowing Skylla to escape north), but it's worth it. I may have to retract what I said in Atmos Ring and claim this as the best Griswall variant. I had actually never had as much fun playing Wild Card as here, as I had to force myself to not go for the max possible score and varying things around... and it was so much fun.
Tied with Pinned Down, this is ACX's best populated mission, with a wealth of air and ground units to keep you constantly engaged if you switch it around. Off the bat, you're presented with ingressing armor columns, an aggressive Gripen squadron, and the laser ring. It's not perfect, because really, there actually aren't that many targets overall, not compared to other ACs, but the way the mission is set up and the pace of the enemy air spawns keeps the action going for a good while. And when you're bored, you can just kill the last ground units to switch on to the missile rush. An example of good mission design. - Ігри
This game was my childhood. I played it for hours. I spent weeks finishing it. I completed it on ace and I have to say, this is by far one of my favourite missions. It is now in a frame on my wall with my old psp and many other classic games like this.
That's a very respectable way of honoring it - all I can do are these playthroughs.

Gaiuss Tower=Dassault Rafale, Atmos Ring=Gripen C, Wild Card=Eurofighter Typhoon. I'm seeing a pattern here.

Can you "capture" the Meson cannon if you don't destroy the cannons and only destroy objectives?
Not "capture", but if they're still up by the time the ALC cuts the power, they're shut down. You can still destroy them with guns afterwards though.

Anyone know how to unlock F-15s/mtd and Yf-23 in this game?
AceGamer Ace combat and more.For the yf-23, you need to complete mission 12c, which just so happens to be this mission. For the f15mtd you need to complete the mission 12b.Search up on acepedia for the mission paths to unlock these levels.

Is it possible to do 7C, 10A, and 12C in one run?
No. The unit in 10A moves out after two missions, so the only way you can get it is to go straight for it it, through 8A.
The ace in 12C is giving me terminal brain damage, send help.
friggin ALC takes damage before I can get to them with FENRIR of all things
Prioritize the enemy tanks in front and in the back of the city (from your spawn point). After that, leave one AA gun alive in the other groups - it won't fire at the gate and it'll give you time to engage the fighters.
What would happen if a cruise missile struck Griswall? Does it automatically trigger a Mission Failure or does it cause heavy damage to the MPG?
Damage. About 33% per missile, I believe.
Ouch. There is just one question...what would happen if the cruise missile that strikes is the last one? Does it cause damage and a mission success, or does the Skylla unit fire one more?
They only fire 3 missiles each; I'm pretty sure hits don't modify that number.
If the last missile did enough damage, it would probably result in a mission failure. It'd be hilarious if it didn't.

I think I might try recording to see what would happen if the last missile fired doesn't blow up Griswall and instead commits suicide to liberate Griswall.
