I definitely take a bunch of time tuning that sonic identity, it comes naturally eventually when you try to recreate different types of things constantly, so time to practice! it comes of as a "would this sound or would this passage make any sense at all if the composers who do it officially handled it" , same with the mix you can really hear this kind of waning feeling through most songs.
