This is what I like to call, the "Shin Godzilla" effect, when you edit older sfx and music of the same franchise into the newer films to give it that "old but new" feel.
I would love if legendary did this with their movies, it would be so cool
I think the other reason why this fits so well is mostly because the movie itself was inspired by the more campier elements from the Showa era and have insane ideas and visuals that could've easily been part of that era.
It’s amazing how original Toho sounds from the Showa, or Heisei Godzilla series can be edit to the Monstervers.
It goes to show the Toho sound effects are timeless

Fun fact: King Kong and King Ceasar share the same roar
Some of the same sounds, yes, but I've never heard King Caesar do the same final long roar that the '62 Showa Kong is known for. Kong has done a shorter tiger growl that he usually does as a short call or a short grunt, but when Kong uses it, it's more in its raw form, whereas when King Caesar uses it, it's more processed and altered.
There was a panel at G-FEST some years back where they said how the different Toho Kaiju sounds were created. Kong is supposed to be a combination of a lion, an elephant, and thunder.

Kong's shorter grunt/growls sound more like a tiger growl, but I'm guessing you're referring to the long roar that Kong does? If so, I can definitely see the elephant roar being used in it.
I wish they still had the source sounds available for listening before they edited and processed them.
I would’ve lost it if the guy who did this version of the fight added King Ceaser’s song when Gia was telling Kong about MechaG.
@@user-roninwolf1981 Kong's main roar is used, I believe, once, in GvMG 74. It is altered as you mentioned before, but it's definitely there. I think it's the moment when Godzilla, MechaGodzilla and King Caesar have their first face off when MG is in the middle with his head is turned backwards towards KC.
Some people say that showa is the worst era but the cheesy but epic fights mixed with Ifukubes music makes it one of the best in my opinion.
The worst is the stupid anime Netflix trilogy. Half of it was made by people who didn't even want to make a godzilla film and hated godzilla.
@@daderowley4514 Yea and all the movies are just boring dumpster fires they made a good concept which is a Kaiju apocalypse type world but the execution is so bad. the kaijus do nothing but stand around and the human parts are just filler so you don't fall asleep.
My conclusion is that it is the worst trilogy by a land slide.

Literally the only people who think the Showa series is the worst era are chronically insecure normies with zero taste and no real love or appreciation for the art and passion that goes into these films. The Showa films didn’t dip in quality till the 70’s and even then you had at least two really well made films in Hedorah and TOMG, and pure fun from Gigan and Mechagodzilla. Compare that to the Heisei era where every film after Biollante got progressively worse in both writing and SFX. The majority of fans who actually give a shit about Tokusatsu and engage with this genre on a deeper level than fast forwarding their DVD’s to get to monster fights like slack jawed middle schoolers know the Showa joints are kino.
I'm sorry. Few people call the Showa Era WORST!? Damn their parents raised a donut...

I don't know the actual name of the sound effect but Godzilla's annoyed grunt from the late Showa films always made me laugh.

I'm not a fan of using Rodan's theme instead of Kong's here but Kong holding up Mechagodzilla's head and screaming with his Showa cry goes *really* hard and I'm here for that.

The sounds really made me feel mechagodzilla really really wanted godzilla dead nd had hatred for him.
It would also have to with the edit and non stop sounds. Like they had in original edit when they did far away shots . Totally takes out of the action.

Think you can do versions with Heisei and Millennium roars (for Kong, you can use the 1976 roar for Heisei and the 2005 roar for Millennium)
