See you in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley! 🌲🏞️
This stock footage is laughable. The RGV doesn’t look like this.
5:38 😂 We love the Valley but that bridge does not exist in our RGV
Lots of nepotism and favoritism if you don’t know anybody in the valley, you don’t belong here been here 2 1/2 years and I am leaving quick already bought a house in the hill countries of Westlake beautiful lakes
Let me guess the creator from this channel is from
California and is trying to get people to move to the valley using his realtor company. Those homes being constructed in a rush with lots of issues and paid off home inspectors. Nice!
Leaving The Valley was the best choice I've ever made
Why? if you don't mind tell me.
@@AnaGiselle777For some people it's very hot, i moved to Virginia but still go there every winter.
@@AnaGiselle777not a lot to do,great to retire to but you are certainly income capped
More details please
my husband works in IT, we are looking to relocate from CA. We are tired of the overreach in state government and the laws are largely against parents... its been a long time coming but we are basically just looking for affordability & health for our family.
Don’t forget the really good food! So affordable it got rated most obese city in Texas. Born and raised in the valley and I’ve seen the city go from small town to large city with too much traffic and a never ending roadwork on the expressway
Most obese city in the nation!
Traffic is so light compared to other cities! I'm from California, and may I never have to face traffic there again!
@@LivinginMcAllenTXTrue, it’s heaven if your from other large cities. Im bias and spoiled 😂

McAllen is nice, i worked there for a year! And your video has so much wrong info and pictures.
I live in Rio Hondo TX 30 miles from South Padre Island. Great fishing and hunting all through the Rio Grande Valley, great schools, and plenty history
Thanks for sharing! There is a lot to see and do here.
I stoped watching your video at 3:07
I am from the area for over 50 years, and your pictures show wrongly tall trees, mountains, long bridges on rocky terrain, and rocks in the water, which is totally false. If you want to express your opinions, don't just make up stuff. Ask the residents for content and show the actual area, not the nicer stock pictures. RGV is flat land, humid, and brushy environment.
B-roll. It’s common in vids like these but I, too, HATE seeing it. People very unfamiliar with areas will be misled through no fault of their own.
I will like to know more please, I’m planning to move there this summer, but I am never live in Tx, I’m in south Florida, family of 3.
@AnaGiselle777 Our Rio Grande Valley has been improving, as coming of more franchised businesses, road improvements, medical/ health at UT RGV education, a new large-scale Driscoll Childrens Hospital, besides 4 existing Universal health systems Hospitals, Resort type South Padre Island, plenty of a variety good places to eat out, and lots of car/house maintenance local services, very friendly people, a dominance of bilingual in a primary Spanish with a secondary English-speaking comunity.
@@AdanPMartinez01 Thank you so much for your kind comment, I have a son with mental illness, Autism high functioning, he has SSI because he is disabled, I would like to move there, to that area, but I am worried about the insurance issue, he has Medicaid and I have read people who say it is very difficult get approved for Medicaid in Tx and other services such as family counseling, therapies etc, even if you have legal documents. It is the main thing that worries me, I am not sure, I am not convinced that it is the best option to move there, because I do not want to wait more than 1 month for my son to be approved for state insurance. We are legal citizens, the processes should not be so long or complicated there.
I would love Florida to not be so expensive, otherwise we wouldn't leave here. I am looking for any other state that is affordable, and that has good and fast social services especially for families and single moms with like me with children with special needs.
Thanks Adan 😊
@AnaGiselle777 You are blessed with a wonderful caring heart! Your son will have the best health assistance from lots of available healthcare professionals . The RGV is considered low income. And by mentioning that; there are at least 45% of people qualified for Medicare/medicaid. and of course, medical professional specialists also accept major health insurance companies. There is plenty to choose from this area. My spuose had the best assistance experience 2 years ago when she suffered a TIA. The hospitals' ER were as angels who demonstrated their special care towards the patient. Not to forget the neurologist and his nurses who are super caring with her follow-ups.
You have never been to McAllen. You aren’t even using pictures FROM McAllen.
Something very interesting about Anglo white people living in the Rio Grande Valley in the 1900s when I was a kid was they were just like any other people from small towns in Texas, even though they are to this day only about 10-15% of the population.
We dont need a Six Flags, just go to the airport on one of the 300 days out of the year when it's windy.
First thing you said was wrong. We aren’t on the river….thats Hidalgo TX. We’re 8 miles from the river.
Thanks for Correcting me, be sure to watch all my videos and let me know where we slip up on the info...
Please do your research and then post the content, but don't make stuff up only to promote your business. @@LivinginMcAllenTX
I’m moving here
That's great! When?
Direct flights from McAllen TX to Las Vegas , thru Alligant Airlines
Love Allegiant!
Oh yeah I'll be moving to mcallen. Regardless pro or cons.
Heck yeah! let us know how we can best serve ( :
From where and why?
We don’t need people bringing their traditions here we are good
You will regret it lol
"Great spot if you wanna bury someone" 😂😂😂😂
How about that bronze bull
Yeah, how about it
Just moved from SA area
Welcome! If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help
Right now I'm just doordashin and thinking about trying to find a job that pays well.
Good luck on the job hunt, pay suxs@@delanomcgee2923
I’ve been here all my life. If you like gang members from Mexico 🇲🇽 ,walking distance border wall, murders on the daily, tires always stolen, 98% talking Spanish (no English) then yes. Come to RGV
I've been here 6 years. No stollen tires. Haven't met the gang members, just a lot of regular folk. Sorry your experience has been negative
You guys should really work on your editing and the responses. Some of your questions were answered completely different.
Might be moving to McAllen from Minneapolis. I'll have no friends. Wanna have a beer?
Sure
I have lived here all my life and it's the best place to live here
Harlingen has like 5+ new carwashes 🤔
Definitely a growing trend around the entire valley, yeah
Can you say money laundering
@@notaliberalfromcali6245 wasn't that the way they did it in Breaking Bad lol
@@Rambosa19 Sure was!
McAllen and the RGV in general is definitely growing into a metroplex and it’s amazing to see how fast things are happening! UTRGV Football alone is going to help put the Valley on the map and it’s just an exciting time to be here ✊
That’s not the ocean. It’s the Gulf of Mexico
The reason it's safe is because there's no whale whale whale. I spelled that wrong on purpose. Replace whale with "well" lol
Racist much?
I live in Colorado, Income is $120K Home value is $750K Income tax + home tax is $8K. In texas a $750K home tax would be $15K. Think I'll stay in Colorado.
Colorado is so beautiful but there are some folks who don't like snow. They love the weather here.
Yes that’s same in Seattle property taxes twice Les then in TX. I guess it is another misconception about conservative state. The only good this we can sell her and buy with cash in TX.
I’m thinking it’s Jobs only for people who also speak Spanish.
Maybe
Ain't nobody got time for all that
yep, that's what I remembered. Fled the area two decades ago.
In McAllen I heard it’s the most obese city in America
Never heard that
Yes it is
the car washes are for the cartell to wash they money xD
When you move to TX, leave your politics behind Californians lol
I live In McAllen since 1980. I live here.... All Neighborhoods in McAllen and their roads are well maintain and will take you anywhere in the city. There is No con to this. Since thirty years, McAllen airport has been expensive to take off from to go up north upstate or the rest of the country.
If money is not your problem, fly direct from McAllen, otherwise you must go to Harlingen International. That's a well deserve con. But in the past twenty years the Expressway 83 has been widened and faster, all the way to Harlingen and Brownsville and it's much quicker to day in 2024, Unlike 1997 or so. 14:07 District 15 just turn RED!!! that's must of Hidalgo county finally went conservative. All our region is still conservative.
If you Hate conservatism, don't move to McAllen. The crime in McAllen is low. It's safe. Don't believe let lies and ignorance that the Drug cartels of Mexico's have roadblocks in McAllen, how moroninc is that!!! You'll love the food of our regions, it grew in isolation from the rest of Texas. Authentic TEXMEX cousin e and we also have major outlets of Restaurants like any other big city in Texas or America, we have it!
Entertainment? We have a History of it for over 40 years, from Disco/80s, Rock, Reggaton, HipHop, Norteño, tropical Alternative dance music from trance House, techno To Grunge Indie Goth and COUNTRY... NIGHT Life on the weekends!
McAllen even has a entertainment dance district on 17th street downtown!
NOW you know!
How about jobs? Pay rates?
Here is one link about that.

Hi David, It’s sounds really good to me! I am planning to move there this summer from South Fl. I was very worried about the issue of the border with Mexico and the cartels, if it was dangerous…
Do you know what is the best high school in McAllen or Hidalgo County that is not far from McAllen?
And how efficient is the health care system there?
thanks in advance. 😊
What about African American people?
Wait until you pay for property tax and insurance 😂😂😂
Please don't move to my hometown! We're full and don't want our wonderful traditional home town changed!
Tell that to the illegals crossing from Mexico. Aint nobody living anywhere in the United States moving to McAllen
In 2022 it was on the top 20 list of places people moved to... shocked me too
@@LivinginMcAllenTXits a hidden gem
Always people like u selfish, you're no owner of nothing😅😅
Not yours
Drugs Drugs Drugs
Not a issue,unless you’re in the slums
Please don’t move here! It’s getting way too crowded thanks to all these Californians!
CA People are Moving everywhere for sure
That’s what you get for living in TX 😉
People that say dumb crap like that act like someone is just gonna listen to some random person on the internet. I’ll move where I want to and you can continue working at Walmart 😂😂😂
PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE FROM CALIFORNIA!!!!
Hello there! I am originally from California! Let's extend a warm Texas welcome to everyone.
Yeah dont come cause we speak spanglish and you'll regret it.
Obesity town😢
Texas will nickel and dime you. Property, sales tax, gas, utilities. So you're not saving much unless you're taking home upwards $75k or own a business.
The place is trash , the entire valley is boring and dead , I lived there for 25 years and am so glad I moved away, will never set foot in that place again, going to sell my house and never look towards that state ever
I grew up in McAllen, and was just back visiting a couple of weeks ago. The footage in this video is super false. The residents are super resentful of tesla because it's f*cking up Boca Chica and the wetlands/shoreline, and people are pushing out the culture when muskrat imports them to work for his wh*te supremacist companies.
If you don't speak Spanish, you will need to become fluent in a hurry, and if you speak it poorly and with your bland accent, don't expect anyone to help you do anything. The area is 92% Mexicano/Tejano who have been there for several generations - no one is going to do you any favors, especially if you're from the Pacific Northwest, where they already don't like multicultural people to begin with - and yes, I know Puyallup, it's where one of the Concentration Camps for Japanese people was located during the second world war, Camp Harmony, where the fairgrounds are now located.
Texas looks affordable on its face, but the property taxes will nullify that. There is no regulation with power companies and you will have to negotiate your energy consumption rates every few months, with no guarantee that you'll be warm during inclement weather when it occurs.
Weather... it was 110°F and 95% humidity during my visit in early May. It's not even July or August yet. ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas) is already asking people to turn off their air conditioning to conserve power and it's not even the hottest part of the year yet.
Then there's cartel activity...
Don't move there. These youtube people and real estate people would love to sell you an idea of a place, but it's all false. Unless you're going to spend a month down there in August to see what it's REALLY like, don't let these sales people take advantage of you because you won't be able to get out of the bad investments in which you'll inevitably get yourself caught up.
I know it doesn't seem like it, but Florida is actually better for your investment dollars. Don't let yourself get taken for a ride by these people.
Texas we officially closed access to California's and any liberals. We love our traditional and morals. Faith, family, guns , freedom.
Do not come here if you’re educated . They only want Spanish speakers. The weather is above 110 in the summers. There is almost no winter except for three days to six days. No job really pays well above 40,000 most people live out here on 20,000 or less. You are better off in San Antonio or further north. Crime is bad and so is the quality of living.
