    Thanks buddy. About to assemble an H3. You took a lot of the trial and error guessing out when it comes to balancing the seat. I'm going to assume a good starting point for seat position is to align you buttocks and spine as close to the universal pivot point as possible and go from there.

    I order an H3, and is like u said, pdf is not clear, your video help me a lot, in Facebook there's a group dof reality builders, best I see is for jerkiness out to cut bycicle wheel tube and put in the parts you have to screw with m8, that fix sound.

    Great information and presentation!
    I am currently considering DofReality but I am little hesitant as I have many questions about what I would need.
    Like this balancing thing is all about mass, that how much those motors can actually move around that 2-axis gimbal.
    The Dofreality cheapest option says 70 kg for driver. But I am questioning it as if I assume it is when 70 kg is balanced, that it is the chair + person. But what happens if you have someone with varying weight?
    Let's say someone as 45 kg and then as 90 kg. The body length of course requires to move seat forward and backward to reach wheel and pedals (if bolted), but some mass shifting happens, such way that example children doesn't have so much mass on upper body as an adult, and less mass on the legs as well compared to adult. So can those 70/100 kg models support that with just shifting the seat forward/backward and fiddling some wheel/pedals distance?
    It is likely safer option to go for a 100 kg model or even 150 kg model, but I don't know about price increase for features I wouldn't need.

      Dof reality should be making these instruction videos. As a business , it’s their responsibility to do this for their customers. I find their instructions poor. People are spending lots of money on these motion platforms only to find out they have to do lots of DIY, and its very complicated. Come on DOf, treat us better.

      He doesnt say what to do at reconnection. Its pointless. So once balanced, do you force the motor arm to fit the new position and then bolt in?

  • @MunstahFPV
    @MunstahFPV 4 роки тому

    Instead of sliding the seat just use the balance adjusters in the feet. You have 4 adjustments to perfectly balance the platform which will impact the center balance of the seat.

      The M2 platform has no feet mate, it needs to be balanced as per this video, see the DOF Reality site for written instructions if you're unsure what I mean.

    Hello, I just ordered a M2 tonight so I watched all your videos again. I have a question about the balance. Once you have it balanced for you personally, if someone taller or shorter wants to have a go at it will it not work well? Wouldn't sliding the seat forward or backward to accommodate them throw off the balance? I hand built my rig so maybe make an adjustment that moves the whole seat mover forward and back and keep the seat stationary?

    • @KarlGosling
      @KarlGosling  4 роки тому +1

      You are 100% correct yes it will throw the balance off.
      But there is a degree of tolerance that still works fine, shorter people are usually ok as their weight is partially supported by their legs on the pedal deck but it's taller people who would need to move the seat really far back that may be a problem.
      Having the whole platform slide would be the perfect solution.

    • @glenvillecarr3454
      @glenvillecarr3454 3 роки тому

      Yes both the H3 and P3 both need to be balanced first and the step not skipped as per the manual. It also suggests getting two other strong people to help. The reason why I asked is because with the M2i think you are able to pull it off solo because your feet contacts the ground. With the H3 your whole body is on the platform.

      @@KarlGosling What is your opinion between a seat platform vs whole platform (seat + pedals + wheel) when thinking about realism standpoint?
      Many has started to praise the bass shakers and others, that they consider even better investment than small motion platforms. For < 1000 price range the bass shaker is hard to beat, but I still think (without experience) that good, quickly reacting motion platform would be better, and best would be to have both. Not sure if any one has advice ?. I have the MP2 and trying to balance it. Despite having the seat bolted on the furthest forward holes I’m still back heavy and it can’t move me. If I lift my legs up straight in front it balances (80kg, 5”11). I’ve ordered the PlaySeat slider from curries as it looks like it lets you slide the seat a few inches further forward than stock.
