Have you tried getting ahold of Jaco about your air chuck problem? I have the same tool and I have locked it onto over 100 tires and my chuck has locked perfect on every one. Maybe it would be covered by the lifetime warranty and they will send you a replacement?
I bought two of these in July 2022 (actually the $30 tire pressure gauge only) and both didn't work well. The first was +- 8psi inaccurate. THe second leaked the entire time. Jaco needs quality control ... or the reviews are fake.
The lock system probably doesn’t work when there isn’t enough threads on the valve stem. I bet Companies are trying to save a nickel by cutting down on the number of threads. That’s China stuff for you. Always use the recommended psi on the inside door pillar or on the tire itself.
I think it takes a rocket scientist to make a good air chuck!

30# of pressure is way too low. I have brand new Michelin 80,000 miles warranted .. 2nd set .. I keep at least 37 psi on my '18 Subaru Outback.
