    I took a test last year, and I didn´t know that I´m anything else than danish. But surprisingly enough I´m 45% british. And no danish, but 10% norwegian. But even more surprising, i found out that...... my dad is not I´m dad. The test I took could show DNA matches, from other people who has also taken the test, and I had a 49% match with a man I didn´t know, and it said with the amound of matching DNA, that he would be my dad. I´m apparently a donor kid, and my parents never told me, out of fear that I would look at my dad differently.

Like there's also a chance they are more linked to Southern China through trade and travel history in the area, or even British like you, yet I don't see them boast about that. Like pleaseeeeee.

    Americans list off multiple nationalities because we're a country founded by immigrants. My maternal great grandfather came over from Italy. My maternal great-grandmother came from Nova Scotia. My "father" is from Ecuador- according to 23 and Me, I'm actually native Southern American.
    The US is a "melting pot", so that's why we claim all of our different nationalities.
    I would only say "I'm American" if I were traveling outside the US.

  • @adrianmaxwell5857
    @adrianmaxwell5857 18 днів тому +16

    I think American’s latch onto an identity, even if it’s a small amount, because it doesn’t feel like just be “American” has a culture (unless you count being loud, and eating trashy food.) The US is such a melting pot of cultures, for someone who is just “white”, it’s easy to feel lost. In the grand scheme of other countries, the US is so young, so we can’t trace our heritage as just “American” back very far. An example, someone who is Japanese can trace their ancestors back hundreds, if not thousands, of years and it’s a country rich with history.

    • @MW_Asura

    It's not available in Japan for 2 reasons.
    1- They prefer scandals stay hidden and it's to the point where you get in trouble if you publicly out someone for having an affair. And by in trouble I mean legally the law will be against you.
    2- Japanese prefer to just pretend that the entire country is 100% ethnically Japanese (sans the obvious foreigners who have only lived in Japan a generation or two) and don't even want to acknowledge other Asian ethnicities from ancestors 5 dynasties back.

    You do know "English" tea isn't actually English, It's Indian! We stole tea from China, and transplanted it into India, creating their tea industry, and then bred it to produce a flavour that suited our tastes. And then started exporting it from India to Britain. And it ended up with the name English tea, because it was tea made for the English.
    Anyway, where I come (England) from being 0.8% British should be considered "hitting the jackpot".
    Oh and yeah that American thing of clinging onto long past distant genetic lineage is odd. I still can't see what is wrong with just being "American". America is a great country.
