I'm starting to think hair relaxers do a lot more than cause cancer and fibroids. I think this is also what caused me and my mother's painful periods when we were young. She was doing her own hair at age six and by age 10 she was relaxing her own hair. She had painful periods ever since, and it has evolved into fibroids. Meanwhile I stopped relaxing my hair at age 14 once I was finally able to just do my own hair. I then went natural. My periods are still painful, they are about a 8.5 now, but they aren't to the degree they once was , I would say it used to be a 10 due to not being able to move, peeing the bed, and vomiting stomach acid everywhere for 24-48 hours. I could not even eat, keep a pain pill down, nor drink water.
This is fascinating stuff honestly, and I am excited to see what the science says in 10 years. 🤓

Jesus Christ’s hair described in Revelation 1:14-15 KJV: “His head and His hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and His eyes were as a flame of fire; and His feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and His voice as the sound of many waters.” Natural hair and black skin like Jesus’ is beautiful!

Or you’re just ill-informed and continuing to use a banned product. Relaxers are formaldehyde-releasers.
“Already banned in the European Union (Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council, Annex II) and limited to 0.01% in Canada (Cosmetic Ingredient Hotlist - Health Canada) in hair straightening products, inhalation of formaldehyde [1] in the form of vapor when occur when the products are heated (by a hair dryer or flat iron, for example). It is therefore suspected to cause respiratory problems and to be linked to an increased risk of certain cancers.”

Traditional Relaxers don’t release formaldehyde. You’re talking about keratin treatments Brazilian blowouts and Japanese straightening or thermal reconditioning

These are just people looking for a scapegoat to blame for their health conditions

Fibroids are pretty common. Not sure it can be blamed on relaxers.

May not be the only cause but definitely a strong contributor with the correlation of statistics. Black women are more likely to have fibroids compared to other ethnic groups and nationalities

@@myramyra2 They are also more likely to have STIs, blame that on relaxers too. I should think STIs will have more influence on reproductive organs than something on the scalp.

@@irresponsibleparent3…your comment is odd. Certain chemicals that are carcinogens that disrupt our hormones because they are in the products we put on our scalp can and will affect our reproductive organs. STIs are not caused by hormonal imbalances and do not cause fibroids. You’re comparing apples to oranges.
