I'm confused, just say you are white and enjoy black culture, everyone else does.
Exactly 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾its not hard‼❤
100% facts. My only issues with her to be honest is the opportunities she obtained from identifying as part of the black culture. It’s opportunities she took from someone truly deserving. We made Aunt Becky pay the price for the college admission fraud. This was no different
@@veronicacure4200 RACE is a white man's invention. You won't find it in the bible. Stop with this "lost opportunities" nonsense. This girl Rachel DOES HAIR for a living. There are no lost opportunities to do hair. Stop being ridiculous. Love this woman. Don't hate. Congratulate.

@@igot5onit214 Not true. "Race" categorization came from Germans. Stupid evolutionists: Darwin and his ilk. You got that racial concept from Darwin.
People were also upset because she was faking hate crimes against herself. She also got a black man to play her father. It wasn't just her identifying as a black woman. The issue is more of a lack of integrity.
I understand THAT
Damn I didn’t know that 😳
THANK YOU! Also how she lied to become president of the NAACP in her state. What she did is not ok!
Why isn't anyone calling her mentally unstable? That's literally insane
Because she knew she would not be excepted her
She seems genuinely connected to African culture and her work reflects it. I just wish she realised that she can love that culture, do good work for the community, raise black children while still being a white woman. I hope one day she realises that it’s OK to be white because that part of her won’t change no matter what.
People are identifying as women when they're literally, basically, naturally and biologically male and they're not being punished but this woman is being bashed for racially identifying as black when she's white. Okay so it's bad to change a race but it's alright to change a gender?...
I believe she felt torn by the love for her black children and the black community constantly demonizing “whitey” so it was easier to just play along. White women who have black kids get treated like trash.
So people can ''feel'' like the opposite sex they were born and we have to accept that..but people can't feel a different race? Why?
She compelled to change her race because the culture tries to vilifies being of white heritage. Likewise, I think many men attempt to change their sex because culture tries to vilify being male; however, this is something you can never change. Once you are born with male genes, you can never change them into female genes.
But yet white people are not allowed to say it's ok to be white.
"You can't change who you are", says the woman who LITERALLY changed who she is 🤔
Exactly. She's Very Conflicted, I feel Very Sorry for her 😢 almost borders on insanity..but Lack of integrity is a problem also, I dont blame people for being Mad 😢

I’m really glad she’s so into black cultures, as a black person it’s somewhat flattering. But on the other hand, she needs to realize it’s OKAY the be a white person with an interest in black culture. You can do all the hair stuff, learn a language, the history, get the decorations… but it’s okay to say you’re white.

Interesting to see if more people will come out, because of these two individuals.
@BRYAN WARNER not true? white people can wear a black hairstyle if they want, but when their scalp gets inflamed and their hair falls out it's not so fun. the "left media" is just trying to prevent dumbasses from stealing culture that isn't FOR white people, and saving a few scalps in the process :/

Gonna be very forthright in saying that I’m a white male who stumbled upon this video pretty randomly, but I am so blown away at how amazing of an interviewer Tamron is. She really did such an expert job of allowing her guest to tell her story and guiding the conversation in a way that was constructive but did not beat around the bush either. I hope to see this skill embodied on other American news networks in the future. She should offer a master class!
Ill never be mad at someone for advocating for black women. I think she is who she is and in some way it’s flattering. But she was doing the work that some natural born black people don’t do. So I wish her the best.
100%! I really don't see the problem if she wants to identify as black. I just wished she would have been honest about it from the jump. However, we know this is not normal and we've seen some of our people pass for white for centuries and have never heard an uproar about it. I'm from New Orleans and you couldn't live in certain (Black) areas in the 40's, 50's, and early 60's, if you didn't passing for white. Shit was horrible to hear how our own people was faking it and we turned our heads back then. Some are just having issues dealing with this cause it is not normal. The question is why we can't accept her for wanting to be black. Black is beautiful, please join us if that is what you want to do love.
While benefiting from affirmative action measures Black people fiught hard for. She went to college and received scholarships created to support the historically discriminated against.

Rachel grew up with extremely religious parents who adopted black kids and refused to teach them their true history. She started teaching them (in secret) about themselves as black people and exposed them to black history art & culture. She fell in love with blackness through teaching her adopted siblings.
They were abused by the parents and molested by her real brother.
She’s so extreme in her actions because of how extreme her parents were with their religion. She wanted to distance herself from her real family and found a home in black culture.
There’s a difference between appropriation and APPRECIATION.

Thank you for sharing this. I can't help but admire Rachel. Black people have no problem wearing their hair straight or blonde, but when white people wear braids it's a problem?
@@domu9239 the only difference here is...Rachel is not just wearing braids! She has an identity crisis which she seams to continue to deny. It is unhealthy to not love and embrace who you are. So True and Well Said! Right now there are Afrocentrics doing this to Native American Culture, and your statement hits the mark perfectly on these Cultural Vultures trying to claim a culture that is not theirs!
Why? Lol. I see it more as respect and admiration. Not to mention the work she’s doing for the community.
Just like many black kids are growing up with no struggle (or just any kids), struggle is history because what they have now is all they know.
You can talk about cultural appropriation all you want… but you want people to start saying: stop wearing t-shirts (western clothing), stop buying iPhones… because they’re all stemming from white creators. It’s all ridiculous. Culture is meant to be shared.
You know what I think it's fine for her to feel more at home within that culture but she's straight up lied about it which I think is the bigger problem. She seems like a very nice woman. I think as human beings we have a lot to learn about being happy for or at the very least learning to accept other people. Especially when society, more particularly our media “exposes” them for a controversy one way or the other. There is some kind of primal urge within many of us to pile on people, to take out our insecurities we find within ourselves on others. It’s such a god damn bummer. I think the saying “bad news travels fast” in a way validates the idea that we have a lot to learn about acceptance. Small minds tend to discuss other people, where as great minds tend discuss ideas. We are a small minded species clearly.
it is time to open up the black race for the nations. Welcome to all trans racial peoples of the world.
Tamrons facial expressions throughout this interview 😂😂😂😂😂
Exactly 🤣
@Waris Geedi Can you honestly say that's true?
I caught that too.Too funny.such a VIRGO 😂😳😳😳😳
That's the first thing I noticed.
Yes 🤣
She’s still trying to pretend she’s black. Girl bye!!! 🤨🤨🤨Tamron, why this month?!😒😒😒
Exactly. But why ever?

Cuz her show is lackluster and in Amerikkka trolls sell.
@M J obviously the box braids
Yea it didn’t have to be done in feb lol
Is a person choosing to be black worse than man choosing to be a woman or woman choosing to be a man???????????
Look, if Dylan Mulvaney, whose forefathers probably burned a few witches at the stake, can be a woman, old mate Rach can be black.
Someone had to say it.
I viewed her artwork years ago. It's actually amazing. She could have just been herself and painted african themes. Or helped bring awareness to african american issues while being white
There's the rub! If she REALLY wanted to help Black people, she should be working to change HER people instead of trying to change OURS.
@@TheBLACKboard65 Shut up dude, this is proof that people have changed. She's not the only one who was caught passing as black/hispanic/other. Be glad.
Yea I think she was over being white 🥴 period I mean some ppl feel they should of been man are woman so she truly believe she should of been black I know god probably like i should of added like five more commands lol
@@ThatKillerQuote - "Shut up, dude"??? Are you in third grade??? This is for ADULT discourse, junior. Furthermore, as an ACTUAL Black WOMAN, I stand by what I said. WW have always made a false equivalent between their supposed struggle and the REAL one continually endured by Blacks when not only have WW heavily participated in the heinous treatment towards Blacks, they continue to benefit from it. If Ms. NON-BLACK Dolezal REALLY loved Black people she would change her PEOPLE not try to fake her race.
@@TheBLACKboard65 Rachel isn't trying to change you, so you can remain hopeless if you want.
It's like she just won't go away.

why should she have to? You're still here!
Why do you want her to go away? Let her live life..
because people like Tamron keep giving her a platform to speak 🙄🙄🙄
Why can someone identify themselves as trans but she can’t identify being black?
She doesn’t even look black . She can tell she lives at the tan salon 😂
It’s literally impossible for white or asian to be black
0:45 “culture vulture 😡” LOLLLLLOLLLOL The vitriol
“I wish people could see me for who I am, not what I am…” this basically sums up how people wish she could see herself
We all see her for who she is.....a damn liar!
Why do people care
@@MentalDeviantbecause she demonized whites hated her skin and glorified the skin of others...kinda nuts
You could Say exactly the same for transexuals...but for some reasone that is "respectwd" but this not🙄
Welp she said she wanted to know what it felt like to be a Black woman....
Yeah she’s a single mother too
Them edges look like she is
😂
😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
She did no wrong...if a man can wake up and decide he wants to be identified as a woman and vice versa, this is nothing.
She deserves to make a living.
Would you say the same if it was a rich WHITE MAN?
So let me get this straight you believe that somebody who claimed to be black that is biologically white by nature who continually wrote disparaging letters about the black community to herself deserves to be employed! Let's not refrain from the fact that she continually sent letters depicting photos of African-Americans being lynched to herself for national attention. I'm Mexican if somebody had did this to our culture I don't care what kind of message they represent the fact that they willingly looked up of our people being killed and harassed and spread a false message that they were being targeted represents to me that they're horrible people. Never in my life have I ever met a minority who would go to the extent of glorifying the horrific and tragic past that our ancestors had to endure for national acclaim. She's reprehensible.
It’s the box braids sitting in front of the African map. It is killing me. also the caption says she identifies as transracial. Baby, leave us the hell alone 🤣
I'd give this comment a million likes if I could. As soon as I saw the thumbnail in my recommends, I was like "well she's still at it" I didn't even need to watch the video. The thumbnail says it all. She's appropriating.
If people can be transgender, why can’t they be trans racial and view themselves as a race they are not?
@@misskay8131 there is no way you can actually think this is okay
@@Cocoflower528 Are you fr so let a white women identify as a Nigerian black girl so she can find an excuse to say the n word people in this world I tell you let me just go identify as trump
If you think it’s okay for a 49 year old white man to identify as a 6 year old black little girl you have serious issues and you need help
Interesting that she spent the whole interview talking about the aftermath & backlash (and why she's a victim as a result), but not once did she indicate that she finally understands why the backlash happened and why people were understandably disturbed by the whole thing.
SHE DOESNT! She's pulling a Karen and playing a VICTIM
@@LameWaysArtistry It's really bizarre. I appreciate Tamron being sympathetic and opening up the conversation but this interview missed the mark in my opinion (especially during Black History Month...)
Right! This part!
@@KevenTalks She went about things wrong but given her background of living in Africa and having Nigerian born siblings...I can see the confusion. The way I see it, she dedicated her life to "black culture", became a leader in her community and contributed to that community. The crime she did was she got caught "passing" something "black" folks have done for generations for a perceived better life. The difference was that those "black" that were "passing" were trying to escape "blackness" while she is running head first toward a perceived "blackness". People are acting like she came in professing to be the Queen of Nigeria or something. How much pound of flesh do "black" folks need?
@@osiruskat Dolezal did not live in Africa at any point in her life. Her adoptive siblings are not Nigerian born. This misinformation results from the many lies that Dolezal has perpetrated.
She can be an ally and not an impersonator. She just got lost in the culture and can’t find her way out.
She can identify as anything she wants to.
She wanted to be Black. Welcome to the struggle. Keep hustling hair braiding.
I can’t 😂
😂😂😂
But she was not struggling. She was at the top of black programs and made good money and for the recognition, she wouldn't have gotten as a white girl. Same with the Kardashians appropriating black culture and marrying black men cause they know black people elevate you the lighter you are.
@@joyandpeacefullaughter5307 the Kardashians dont appropriate black culture. They are Middle Eastern and thats Middle Eastern culture. Blacks appropriated that culture as well, like they did with football, basketball, movies, etc. God get your facts right

I have predecessors who passed for white. Primarily for social status and financial gain. Lots of black people do. What I wish is that Rachel had realized that she didn't have to pass. It has caused a major disruption to her life's work. She could have served our community as a fully realized white woman who just openly loves African American people, history, and culture.
That would be fine but what she was doing was just nuts.
She is not white lol

Let her be black if she wants to. Her parents basically expected what the blacks would do and what they usually do to their own people, turn on them. Shame on Rachel, shame on her parents, and shame on the people she fought for.
I don’t get it. So you can be a man or woman when you are not but she cannot identify as black?
Im not mad at her for wanting to be a Black woman, we are awesome! She felt comfortable in our culture, but her living a lie was not the way to do it.
At least she's not Shaun King.
She respects black culture so much that she sued a historically black college.
Your comment is kind of contradicting and it’s not awesome…
The thing is, she doesn't FEEL that she's "living a lie". It's a mental conidtion.
How was she living a lie! She claimed what she felt like she was. Transsexual legally so it everyday. She should sue!
She’s still rockin blackface, this is hilarious 😂😂😂
How her hair is black then turns blonde when it reaches her exposed shoulders which show her white skin lol I think she’s a genius. How many ppl do you know have a whole damn book?

I agree, but people have done a lot worse things than having an identity issue. Maybe this is her way of grappling with who she is? I see how it is problematic but at least it sparks a dialogue on race and co-existing in a non-violent and even academic way. While she is exploiting the black experience, she doesn't victimize anyone other than herself; which is the true problem. She’s saying she identifies with the Black Community.
If a Male can pretend to be a female why cant a woman pretend to black ? We are all humans before God. God didn't create us and say they are black he created humans. Man said we were black not God.

I love her personally. She did do us good with all the work she did for black people. Unlike the Kardashians who use black people for all the wrong reasons.
SHE STOLE FROM BLACK FOLK!
I feel like things would have been so much easier if she was just honest from the beginning about her up bringing and then said “but I love the black community and really identify with them.” Just be honest! Admit you’re white but then say you love the culture.
Something tells me that her saying those things would have made no difference
Bip Somma, exactly!

HI, I'd like to share this on my reposting. I not only accept her choice, but like it about her. I agree that the way she did things gave people a reason to act a fool, truth is most wouldn't have accepted her if she did it that way, but they wouldn't have the ammunition either. I see all points and chose to not make it a bad thing. Different yes, but from what I see she's really down with BLACK people and our plight!!🙅🏽♀️

What about the movie imitation of life, the mixed race girl pretending to be white.
@@NYCITY3 You cannot compare this situation to a novel written in 1910 (made into a movie in the 50s) where the character has to claim she is white so that she can have a better life, something that would not be afforded to her as a black woman in America during these times. (incidentally a work of fiction but am sure happened more than often)
