Also, I use the DAS Modeling clay and never have a problem with sticking OR cracking. I've used just a cheap air dry clay from Michaels and omg... Half of the things I made cracked when dry. Also, Crayola modeling clay is nice because it's very pliable when it's dry!
Thank you❤️. I checked the new Genova Art clay molds today and they didn’t hold up well on the hard surfaces. They did great on the peat pots but I was able to peel them off the large pot with very little struggle☹️
Try kneading your light weight clay in your hands adding corn starch, I just dusted my hands. Pull it occasionally until it quits stretching into string like pieces. Doing this will help it to not stick to the mold. I had this same issue, but after watching lady from eastern Europe make her own clay, I realized my light weight clay was too wet. It took few tries to get the right feel. Glad I didn't have to throw out my clay. Hope this helps.
I know this video is a year old Lisa but somehow I missed this one altogether. Thank you for this video as I’ve got my clay and I’ve got some moulds so I’m going to try doing this, I’ve been waiting and waiting but I think it’s time to try something, I also want to make some round beads with the clay as well. I also have clay in storage unopened with a few moulds so im😢 hoping it will be okay when I finally get all my stuff back with me. It’s very hot where they are stored so I’m not sure how long the clay will last. You’ve inspired me, as usual to try things that I’ve never done before. I always get things when I want to try them but I end up just sitting on them, it’s about time I got myself going and did things. I’ve also got a heap of things cut up for my hang tags (cardboard) so have to keep going with these also. God Bless you Lisa for all the inspiration that you give me, I really love your videos. Oh yeah I’d better say, I love all your projects, they look gorgeous with all the moulds on them. TFS.
Thank you for another instructional video, especially showing the differences in the types of clay out there and what really works. Could you please in future leave the info on what you used in your description box?
Good morning Lisa, Just beautiful projects again. So glad I recently found you. Love everything you have done. Your vignettes are BEAUTIFUL and helps me to see using different colors and weaving them into the room here and there can be stunning. Have a blessed day and thank you
Thanks for giving all the info while you are working. It really helps to know in advance what is good and not waste time and money. You are great and very enjoyable to watch. I look for you every day.
I used to make a few things using paper clay. I have used it in these molds. I did buy the IOD clay but thought I'd buy DAS as it's cheaper. I love your idea is stamping the clay. Thank you for this demo. I won't buy that bucket clay.
I use the DAS Modeling clay and I really like it, I haven't had any issues with it that wasn't my fault, lol, like a little too much cornstarch which can cause a little bit of cracking, but nothing you can't fix. I bought a big block of air dry clay from Michaels, just a no name brand, because everything else was sold out for a good 2 weeks that I kept checking. I thought how bad can it be? Lol! Half of the things I made just cracked & broke when it dried. Ugh. And it was really heavy. I know a lot of people use the air dry paper clay too. I ended up ordering the DAS modeling clay one not noticing there was a difference and have been using it for quite a few months now, never having a problem with cracking or shrinking. Hope this helps!
Thank you for sharing your experience. You do such a good job describing how everything works. Watching you try to work that clay in the mold reminded me of salt water taffy. 😊
I bought a few of the IOD moulds and the Re-design moulds and love them both! What's nice about the Re-design moulds is you can get them on Amazon for under $20 and if you have prime you get free shipping which is nice! When I order anything from IOD I have to go through a certified seller and two items end up being around $65-70 with shipping and it's hard to do that for every mould I want. So, the redesign is much cheaper to buy if you want a variety of designs to use.
@@conniedetevis2119 re-design is the name of the line of moulds and other things I believe.... I think the company name is Prima. I know some people have them stocked in their shop to sell like a licensed seller or whatever, but you can also find them on Amazon. They have a lot of different ones, I got a few on Amazon. My favorite is the "Oceanica Flourish", it has the scroll type designs that you can use on basically anything, but I see a lot of people use the IOD one for furniture. They are a little bit smaller than IOD and they don't have the "lip" that iod has, but I find them very easy to work with. I also have some great moulds I ordered from Ali Express, like the scroll design ones.... They are mostly found under cake decorating, so they are food safe if you're using it for that, they're made from silicone. I NEVER had a problem with those and I actually bought them there because I was looking for moulds for berries and also to make fake cookies, lol, I actually ended up getting one from Etsy for the Oreo ones, but Ali Express has some really nice food item moulds and they're super cheap. I paid between $2-7 for mine and love all of them. The one I got for berries also has almonds (whole and half) & acorns (whole & just the tops) for I think those were $4 plus $2 for shipping. Only thing is if you order from Ali Express it takes a bit longer, although they are getting better and some have even started shipping from the US. I believe it's because the same sellers also sell on Amazon, so they probably have a warehouse in the US because some items I've gotten in less than a week. I try to support small businesses, like with IOD bc their items ARE amazing, but I can't keep spending that much money every time a new thing comes out, I'd never be able to maintain my own booth if that was the case lol! I go to thrift shops to get items to flip because I love upcycling "old junk", but also because I like to save money & really I HAVE to. I'm DEFINITELY just a very small crafter trying to make at least enough that I don't have to come out of pocket to pay the difference for my booth, lol, which isn't easy. Soo, I try to support other creators, but I also have to support myself. If I can get something just as nice for half the price, it just makes sense. Also, the Prima re-design mould package says it's a "Women Owned Company" so there's that 😉😁 Anyway, I hope this helps another small crafter that loves to keep up with trends, but also likes to save money especially out of necessity. I can vouch for the re-design moulds, I've actually used them all day today, lol! The "Aviary" one is beautiful, I love the little birds & the stand alone branch, I actually used both on the pea pod cups and love how they look. And I used the "Regal Findings" mould on a couple of others...the bumble bee & the wreath crest which looks really nice together. Off to paint those now! 😁😉
Thank you for the great tutorial! Just bought a couple of molds but haven't had a chance to use them yet! Love the lil baskets from the peat pots! TFS!! GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS!
Thank you for the tutorial Lisa! I would like to try doing the molds but have felt intimidated by the process. Your demonstration and simple instructions on how to do it makes me less afraid to try it now! Thank you so much 💓! I enjoy your videos!
You could try dollar tree air clay too and they have a glue that works very well . The brand is Beacon is for foam and poster board . I used fir several project and work fine

I love your channel and thank you for sharing with us step by step!💕 I love the Bee paper but was not able to find it on Amazon. Would you provide the information as to where to find it? Thank you!
Lisa, I would never have believed that peat pots could be so pretty! Thanks for all the good ideas. Enjoyed the video. BTW, I have had really good luck with the DAS air dry clay, even made some beads last week.
Hi Lisa that little bird stamp is adorable...would you happen to know if it is available for purchase somewhere....also if you use dollar tree's clay make sure to wear gloves...first off it needs to be worked a lot more than other air dry clays and it's brownish orange in color and not color fast...also great tutorial.
What Tight Bond Did You Use? I Have Tight Bond III Ultimate Wood Glue. TYIA!!! Again...TFS Your Creativity With US!!! GOD Bless You And Yours -Too!!! 🙂💜
Looks like you are using foam clay. I had the same problem in the beginning. However, if you press the foam clay into the mold and then put it in the freezer for a 1/2 to an hour (or more), it pops out with no problem. It's very pliable even after it's dry. Hope this helps!
Hi Lisa beautiful as always, i am gathering all of my supplies to make all these beautiful things. Hobby lobby was having a clearance on stamps yesterday now all i need are my moulds. Thank you for this great video.
Ughh, the closest hobby lobby is like 30 minutes away, with No traffic which is rare. We used to have AC Moore less than 5min away, but they closed & I was always hoping Hobby Lobby would move in.... But so far, it's still empty 😏 but there's still hope maybe, lol! 😉

That you Trish❤️. They are pricey but I get a lot of use out of mine.
Great job on the moulds and pots. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Pamela❤️
Wow. They turned out so nice. The clay embellishments and paint made them look like high end pots, etc. Have a blessed day.

Thank you Tina❤️. I did check my pieces though and the Genova Art clay did adhere that well to the hard surfaces, only the peat pots☹️
I haven't tried it but read if you put the mold in the freezer for a little while it will release easily.
