    It took me a long time to realize that weeping is worship. It is surrender, it is humbling and it is the birthplace of miraculous change. 💙 It’s no wonder that watching the rebuild of temple stirred up a weeping worship 🙌🏽

    This is so good. As Spec would say you are such a great bible teacher. You notice and point out things others wouldn't notice. I honestly thank God for you.. I always desired a Bible Study but i couldn't really find one in churches or even my local church. It amazes me that GOD would use this or you to fullfil that desire and not my local church. GOD is GOD. He's going to get you want you need and he's not limited to what's right around us.

    I look at this chapter and saw that God gave the Israelites the ability to go back home & rebuild, nevertheless when they got there they began by finding time to worship building an altar. Before the foundation was laid. They remembered the foundation of long ago by sacrificing burnt offerings & the festivals celebration even being afraid they pressed on. Praise God for you sis

    Sis it's amazing how you can have a king as Cyrus to make a declaration for God essentially in a proclamation, an instruction. Oh I pray that our leaders turn their hearts to God. I know many have scales over their eyes which I don't understand but that's for another day. It's amazing how these people pushed themselves physically in spite of fear or especially in fear leaving all they had to do what God has called them to . As it says But God. God does work all things together for our good & His glory. He made a way and provided what they needed. There was a genuine threat and conditions were bad. Talk about not relying on what they see or their own understanding. There was order and they worked together with the abilities, talents & gifts they had. There has to be great reason to name the names. As we read sometimes trying to scan faster through these details. The foundation is so important. Those who saw the first temple knew His promises even more as they saw and celebrated this though they grieved the loss of the former temple. A good foundation! What a marker. Praising Him through all things. Lord I cling to you as I recognize you're with me in spite of what I see around me. In the Lord's prayer says give us this day it's us not just me. Lord continue to show me how and who I'm to pray for. There's such darkness but keeping our eyes on Him is the only way not to be dismayed as the Word says. Lord I need to keep my eyes toward you as I ask the Holy Spirit to be the gatekeeper of my mind & bridle my tongue. Examine me oh Lord as I want the mind of Christ and oh only in the spirit can I pray as I fall short even in what I ask and how I pray. What an example in Ezra. Jesus is the sacrifice without my having to build anything to bring anything only come as I am to Him. His grace is sufficient for today. Thank you Kim. Blessings to you and yours. ✝️

      @JessM20_ 2 роки тому

      Remember I made this because of my confusion and had to write my thoughts down and sort it out. Some stuff is wrong, but Ima just put myself out there I guess. I also don't feel like removing the wrong parts because it'll mess up everything else. I'm also too lazy. 🙃 Asking questions is part of studying and clinging tho right? Anyway it's below. DON'T LAUGH AT ME!
      The seventh month everybody is gathered as "one man" in the place of God's choosing--Jerusalem. They are celebrating the Feast of Booths (Tabernacles, Ingathering, Sukkot) which is to remind everyone of God's provision to the Israelites while they were in the wilderness living in tents. It's a celebration. They were celebrating God for His provision and protection from harm during that time. But...they had an assignment. The assignment was to come back and build the temple. Not saying they should forgo the feast and start laying bricks, just emphasizing a point. Interestingly, back in Solomon's day, the temple was dedicated during the same feast (1 Kings 8:2). That temple was destroyed. Gone. Zilch. Finito. Done. The glorious, beautiful temple was destroyed when King Nebby made his raid. And the ark...gone. But we'll get to that. Back to the beginning. They're doing their thing, Zer and Jesh (yes, I gave them nicknames) are doing the burnt offerings, which from what I gathered is what's supposed to be done during the feast(?) Something like a continuous burnt offering? Anyway, then it says...."they were terrified bc of the peoples of the lands." Now, Idk what to make of this. At first, I was like...so these randos are in YO land, you're literally celebrating God's provision...and you scared? But then I was like...but right after it says that they did the burnt offerings morning and night. Which means they still continued with the offerings even tho they were afraid? Not sure. Anyway, get this. They're doing all the offering stuff, but then it says the foundation for the temple hadn't been laid. So I'm (again...typical) confused. For the feast there's the first day and the eighth day that's a Sabbath, but the days in between are.....? They could've at least plotted the land, right? Put some sticks up, something. 😂 They made the altar, so might as well start the temple too. I may be overthinking, but the statement wouldn't be in there if it didn't have a meaning. So I'm thinking they're stalling or there's some half obedience going on (could I be wrong? Absolutely, I wasn't there. I'm only 24✌🏾). Then 2 whole years go by and now we're building? Okayyyyyy? I guess? (I'm still lowkey confused, this book has confused me since ch 1, don't judge me). And the only thing built was the foundation. Which, I mean, that's great and everything but I would think that celebrating they're doing would be when the temple is finished. God said build a temple not a foundation. Am I missing something? Because in my westernized mind, a foundation is a slab of cement on the ground before the actual building gets built. So....? ANYWAY chile, get ya praise on the best way you know how, I guess. Praise Him in the process lol.🙌🏾 Back to the chapter. So then boom. The old people who seen the old temple are like...😭😭😭😭 because what they perceive is that the new temple is not as glorious as the old one (even tho...it's only a foundation rn, but I digress). A lot of things happened at the first temple's dedication. If I remember correctly, there was some fire and some smoke or something like that. That ain't happen here (again...no temple, just foundation....but I digress...again). Plus the ark is gone right? Went poof when the temple was destroyed? I was thinking that maybe that's part of the reason for the weeping. It represented God's presence and Him dwelling among the people, yes? So maybe they felt, in a sense, that God wasn't going to be dwelling with them as He was previously (or I could be reaching, but just a thought. Judge ya mama). However, I cheated and went to Haggai and looked at some commentaries 🙈 (I'm not ashamed). This temple, though it may not be glorious in their eyes, is the most glorious of all. In a few years...okay some hundreds😂...Jesus would literally walk there. Literally Emmanuel. If that ain't "God with us" enough Idk what is! And on that note, I'd like to name that sermon, "Which Temple Are Ya Looking At?" 🤣 You looking backwards or you looking forward? You looking at the old thing or you praising for the new thing? You despising humble beginnings or you embracing and relishing in em? (Praise Break) 😂 Nah but fr, I was probably loud and wrong with a lot of this, but....people say I'm too quiet, so I'm fine being loud. 😂 BYE.
