    Hi! Just a quick tip: wrap the new leaves in damp paper towel. It will help with humidity around the leaves and it will help to unfurl completely. Secondly, feel free to cut the empty runners on philodendrons. After some time the plant will start producing the leaves for you. 👌💚😊

    I just found your video and I'm enjoying the tour. It's so fun to see how folks display their plants. I love your home colors, too 👌!
    As for your schefflera, I would definitely treat for spider mites, even if you never see them. Schefflera almost always end up with spider mites. Those curled baby leaves are screaming bug damage.
    I just won't even buy schefflera anymore (same for English Ivy!).
    Happy plantings 💚💚💚!

    Nice to see you back again. Lovely plant collection and new home. The video sounds like is a voice over or something then back to normal? Your bed frame looks like wildfern’s channel one. Where you are also hanging plants. I am getting into more Hoya’s now. I only keep plants in my sitting room and kitchen. Unfortunately my bathroom has no windows which i hate that it doesn’t only have artificial plants there. Also i don’t like sleeping with plants in my bedroom.

    Good Morning. Thank you for the tour.
    In my experience, rubber trees need a lot of light. I think your tineke/Ruby need a bit more light and since it looks like it is a mature plant in a big pot you should water it only when the bottom leaves starts to soften. Misting the top now and then will do it some good as well.

    So happy to see you again. Excellent video. Sometimes philo leaves don't unfurl properly because they lack humidity. At least that's been my experience. Try putting it by a humidifier or on a tray of pebbles/water.

    38:00 if the roots are growing out from underneath, what I do is put a base of coconut fiber (coco liner) on the bottom. This also helps retain the substrate. They are pretty inexpensive at lowes and one liner can be used multiple times depending on size of pot

    Just saw your "Brandy" philodendron. You're not the problem! "Brandys" are hateful little plants. Ask other plant people and you'll hear the same.
    👍Yours actually looks pretty good.
    Prepare to say goodbye to it and buy a grateful plant that will love you back😂! (Like your neon pothos!)
    (Of course, you may find the secret to it, so good luck🍀!)

      Okay, last comment!
      Your potting mix probably needs way more pumice or perlite, or coco CHUNKS. You seem to be a heavy waterer, so your substrate needs to be MUCH more airy.
      Many of your plants are unforgiving of overwatering (peperomia, begonia, string of turtles, pilea, arrow plants, etc.)
      Surprisingly, most houseplants will thrive in a "chunkier" WELL-DRAINING potting mix because we all overwater.
      You can pot almost all houseplants in it (except cactus, gasteria, haworthia, and most euphorbia. They need more minerals.) All philodendron do great in a chunky mix! So do arrow plants.
      Peace lilies are an exception. They need moist soil.
      I'm a heavy waterer, too, and learned about this the hard way (I killed a lot of plants at the beginning!)
      Just look up "aroid mix" for a good recipe. I SWEAR it's a game changer for keeping houseplants!
      P.S. Calathea are one of THE MOST difficult type of houseplants. You need humidifiers to keep them happy. Definitely worth the money if you want calathea.
      Bye again! Sorry to over share.

    Hello, I have had my Monstera Deliciosa since Feb 2020 in a 6in & repotted March 2022 in a 8in. These beauties absolutely have to have high light & will appreciate morn. sun ( only) at times. This is vital to get leaf fenestration. I live in wintery OH. & just had a leaf unfurl & a sm. one forming. I get fenestration but haven't as of yet got a full leaf fenestration with holes. Thats what I'm thriving for. I also give it plenty of humidity , worm casting in the soil. Its beautiful & healthy. Hope that helps..Thank U

    I guess to each their own. I have 10 varieties of calathea. Never had a humidifier, and I never use distilled water. I treat my water, and make sure it sits for 24 hours before I use. I also live in dry Canada. I don’t agree that Calathea are a finicky plant. Mine are thriving- my ctenanthe Burl-Marx is flowering as we speak!!

    I think the main issue with your plant's is not enough light. I have watched your entire video and room by room, your house just looks very dark even the rooms you say are bright... At least on this video. Many of the plants you claim you don't know what it wants, I think it's light. As for your calatheas-maranta, prayer plants, it's humidity. They require more moisture than other plants and they are also sensitive to certain water conditions that some people recommend ditching tap water all together and use distilled, filtered or rain water if you can get it. This has me , myself concerned because the water where I live is hard with a lot of mineral deposits-not what calatheas like nor tolerate and I have just recently picked up several varieties of them... probably not the wisest decision. Well it is what it is.

    • @thepetiteplant
      @thepetiteplant  Рік тому +1

      Some of my plants definitely could use more light! But my house is brighter than it appears in the video, I just filmed later in the day when the sun was basically already set haha. And my house actually has decent humidity! I’ve changed up conditions on some of my calathea and they’re doing much better!

  • @holyarmadillo3424
    @holyarmadillo3424 Рік тому

    But why do keep house plants when you kinda just let them die and just “enjoy them” while they are literally struggling? I know, plants can’t feel, but we should still have respect for nature/living things.

    • @thepetiteplant
      @thepetiteplant  Рік тому

      I try my best to make each plant thrive and the ones that are struggling are the ones that just aren’t doing well despite my best efforts. I’ve had many plants actually thrive off of the “neglect” approach so if what I do clearly isn’t making the plant happy I try to go all the way back to basics
