And one of them was Lernen, creating a golem (like the one used in the second test, made by him)
I really like Serie as a character. If we put together everything she's said in the past few episodes, we realize that she wasn't insulting Lernen for being old, she was sad that he (and all her other students) couldn't live longer; she wasn't refusing to honor Flamme's will, she was refusing to accept that Flamme was dead; and so on. Serie is struggling with and mourning the reality of human mortality just as much as Frieren is, but in different ways.
She's someone who subconsciously understood the value of companionship long before Frieren did but is still incapable of understanding her own feelings well enough to communicate them honestly.
"taking it out on Frieren" is a funny way to put it lol, kinda trivializes the whole point, to summarize though Frieren is from the heroes party so defeating her puts you the history books, even if you aren't acknowledged as Hero, that display of strength would definitely not be forgotten. I'm glad Dani remembered what Serie said about Lernen's capabilities because I get confused every time reactors wanna play it off like Friene's shields didn't just get ripped through like they weren't there, that didn't even happen when she fought herself
It got ripped through but Frieren still has “the height of magic” up her sleeve that serei may not even know that Frieren knows. Frieren defeats people stronger than him later and there are several extremely powerful demons that directly say they are trying to reach the “height” of magic , suggesting that Frieren has already achieved what others seek out. That spell likely isn’t even mythical era magic but instead goddess magic . If you notice the scene where flamme finds Frieren in her village , the general she killed looked like he had been crushed against a wall much like fern was during the exam , so this spell may be something Frieren has known how to do since before she was trained by flamme. There’s also the fact that flamme could read serei like a book as demonstrated with the scene of Frieren delivering her will, and flamme likely had Frieren keep certain abilities hidden from serei Incase she ever had to fight her . Tldr , the guy could lend a hit when Frieren wasn’t even looking to fight but if she took him seriously she would likely destroy him.
@@mookiestewart3776 "She would likely destroy him" nah absolutely not, Frieren Is not a very skilled mage After all. After a thousand years She still does the same mistakes that the normal magic students learn to correct immediately... Her real strenght Is the ability to trick the enemy with her Amazing mana control but Lerner immediately saw the fluctuations in her mana. Even if She didn't want to fight him she cleary didn't want to be hit as well and still he destroyed her magic shield and hit her. Talking about Serie, She knows a lot of things that happened during the fight against the demon king and we know that Frieren used that Attack in the fight so I Don't think that Serie didn't know about It, probably is a special form of magic only used by the elfs, Who knows
@@bondrewd5935 “she’s not very skilled for her age” is the actual quote you’re looking for. Compared to everyone but her and serei she is insanely skilled , also even the statement “not skilled for her age” is shown to be false in the manga in the very next arc when she goes against people that are essentially her age and have equivalent mana to her (more or less) and she out skills them. Yes her little half shield got broken but she also has to ability to simply “flash step” out of the way of attacks or behind people as shown in ep 25. From your comment I can tell you haven’t read the manga and you simply don’t know what you’re talking about . Frierens main strength isn’t her mama supply or big spells (even though she has both those things) it’s her skill and most of all her intelligence and adaptability. You’re simply uninformed on this topic. She didn’t even fire a single retaliation spell at the guy, wtf is he gonna do when she actually fights back?? You don’t know because she didn’t. You’re entire point of view is based off of a point of ignorance
@@mookiestewart3776 She isn't very skilled in general, even the worst mages Who are trying the exam are able to detect mana while they are attacking, Frieren Is not able to do that After thousands years of training....sorry but you are the One Who didn't read the manga if you think that in Eldorado arc She outskilled someone 😂 SPOILER Frieren literally admitted that Solitar was far more skilled then her both in attack and defense and she was literally forced to free Fern in order to win 2vs1 because Solitar was destroying her....This to not talk about the fact that Frieren was scared of macht because during their First fight he destroyed her while Lerner fought him and survived Without a single scratch and macht Definitely fought back😂
Frieren is the only anime for a long time where it got me excited every week again waiting for the next episode. Before, I'm pretty much tired of anime for many years because i've watched so many animes and probably have watched 1000+ of them(i've been watching anime continously for almost 20 years). Especially when almost all of anime are following the same trope over and over again. That's why even popular animes now that alot of people get hyped for like MHA, JJK, solo leveling, chainsaw man, demon slayer, etc. I can't even finish those because of how many generic tropes they have (it make sense though, why change the tropes if it still works right? They still make money doing those tropes) I can't even finish most of anime now i just ended up just watching 2 or 3 episodes i immediately get bored and stop watching. That's why I'm happy that watching frieren somehow made me feel the joy of watching anime again.
I think whether one will enjoy the show or not comes down to expectations. I came in expecting something action packed and provoking, and I almost gave up on the show during the first few episodes, but luckily I had promised myself that if a show is very hyped, I will at least watch the first season, no matter what. Because even if it sucks, at least then I can have an actual opinion about it, and not be the "quit after 2 episodes" -guy. Man, did I make the right choice with this one. But I am a sucker for exam arcs, so by then I was hooked. But even after finishing the show, I only saw it as a "pretty good show", and it required a rewatching from me to learn to appreciate the slow, deliberate pacing of the show. Now it's in my Top 5 animes.
1:19 Morgan is right yesss. Dani asked what other criteria would make u pass & i think its if you seem like a challenge, like a challenge she can overcome.. in a weird way, like if you make her feel strong....which imo is twisted.. but who knows... "serie's intuition is always right" lol
Lernen actually exploited Frieren's weakness discussed 2 episodes ago, which is why he successfully injured her. Assuming he wasn't watching them in the dungeon, it means he immediately noticed the flaw in her defense after only a few seconds. That tells a lot about his skills and why Serie said he could take Frieren in a fight.
Anyone who does labor would appreciate spells like laundry spells, spells than clean kitchenware, spells that can help in farms, etc. that's why i understand why fern chose that spell. Besides they're already living in a peaceful era, battle spells would be pretty useless considering that mages are already pretty strong and they can take care of threats such as bandits and demons.
A decade ago I had a very similar relationship as Denken and Laufen have, but the genders reversed. My wall neighbor was this sweet old widowed grandma I talked with whenever we passed by, I had just moved on my own from my parents as a 20-year-old guy, and she was super friendly and sociable, I would go to visit her, talk with her about whatever she wanted to talk about, and she would "bribe" me with pastry she had baked. I think at one point her actual children thought I was a scammer of some sort, but it all turned out fine in the end. Back then I did mostly go to see her for the free food, but I did enjoy her company.
Have the bittersweet feeling to ladies, this series was so damn good and lovely, not have around for the time being, is major bummer. I truly we hope we see a majority of these characters again, damn near all of them are so cool and interesting. This series also has one of the best cast of lady characters I’ve seen, very dynamic and versatile as far as the collective goes. Thanks for putting me on this lovely ladies, I appreciate it very much. Watching this dope series with you guys has been a good vibes. S2 needs to come expeditiously.
Serie is just like that because if she’s gonna be honest with her feelings she’ll be devastated because of the countless students, friends or love ones she outlived.
2nd season for sure will come, given how well made and well received it is, and manga readers already know who will be onion-ing our eyes in the next season (El Dorado Arc), it's Denken.
Wonderful reactions ladies! The second season of Frieren can't come soon enough! Really liked the wrap up of the exam arc and Fern's choice of spell and Serie's reaction to it with the same Frieren face. I couldn't wait and jumped ahead in the manga and it's very interesting journeying in the Northern Lands. Looking forward to your reacitnos to Made In Abyss season 2!
If you don't know what to do with your life now without Frieren, may I suggest reacting to Maomao and the Apothecary Diaries? It's a great salve for Frieren withdrawal lol. I doubt I'm the first to suggest it to you guys. You won't regret it.
I think Sein’s friend is definitely dead as well, if only because he needs a reason to go to Heaven with the rest of the party. Frieren has Himmel, Fern has Heiter, Stark has his brother, so Sein needs someone he wants to see again.
I like how Frieren last line "It would be embarrasing when we meet again" and they asking "What does that mean?" is very likely their way to confirm that there's going to be S2.
Did you catch from the end screens that Lernen (who attacked Frieren) is probably Ehre's gradfather? 😄 As she mentioned that her gf is 1st class mage and offered Wirbel an introduction
I can't believe Land shot up from "meh" to "top tier" at the last second by discovering the ancient, forbidden power of Work From Home. All the other mages were out there risking their lives, but this guy was able to pass the test and get a girlfriend/stalker while spending the whole time just relaxing and sipping tea.
Serie is actually nice letting Methode-oneesan dotes on her. There is an omake where she asked Genau to tell Methode that she can only caress her for 10min a day. Thats how strong Methode is. LoL
There’s a frieren chibi version of like 10 episodes of about 3 minutes each. They’re on UA-cam although without subtitles. But since they’re on UA-cam it’s ok to watch them in pirate sites for the subs because it’s already free anyways
I love this anime so much that I’m definitely gonna go back and watch it in English… if I ever get the time. For now, I just have to make do with whoever else might be reacting to it.
Serie didn’t exactly punish Frieren with the ban. Frieren never cared about being a first class mage it was just a requirement to have one to continue the journey, she also didn’t care about being part of the mage association. All Serie did was leave another mark in history for Frieren… she’s recorded at every association event as a barred mage, so she’s further immortalized. The real question is whether Serie was being petulant and this is just a side effect or whether she’s being clever and intended this.
i dont know in the future or (manga), "after all, it would be embarrasing when we met again", and the present time Frieren and group is going to heaven meeting Himmel
It didn’t click for me until I was watching a different reaction, but the more I watch this episode, the more I’m convinced that Serie doesn’t consider herself talented. She is the strongest because she’s lived for so long, but lacks the imagination and creativity of her students. She’s bored when innovation stalls, but doesn’t have the capacity to move it forward herself. And so that’s why she’s always looking for geniuses that can push the boundaries and quell her boredom.
I like that theory, not sure if I fully buy it since we don't know what an elf of her age is supposed to be like strength wise but its certainly interesting
@@Sarahnsx I think I buy it a little bit, considering how Serie's attitude was to Flamme all that time ago she realized that humans will always accomplish great things and she even acknowledged that by telling Frieren that if its not the demon king that kills her it will be a human mage. That applies to Serie herself, given time of course. She talks about how humans don't put things off because they live so much shorter in comparison to elves as well. Like yes Serie is powerful as hell, she knows she's powerful, but she probably doesn't see herself on the same level as these human mages who can accomplish so much in such a little time, if were talking about talent.
6 місяців тому+1
She at least gets excited when she founds a talented young mage to mentor.
@@skull1161 Interesting, I like the theory that her admiration for what humans achieve in a short time is also her considering them to be talented/geniuses, I can definitely get behind that. Thinking back on the scene were she talks about the "era of humans" you could tell she was excited about the idea, looking at that scene with this context I see its more than just excitement but admiration as well. Serie still knows almost all of humanities spells though, obviously she's really old and had a lot of time but I'd think that takes a high level of talent, we've also learned that despite how long elves live they learn slowly, so who knows whether she's achieved this faster than normal.
@@Sarahnsx fwiw, the initial line that made me think about this was cut from this reaction, but it was when Serie was talking about Flamme: "Honestly, Flamme was a failure. Despite all her talent, she failed to reach my heights." To me, that line feels like she really thought Flamme had more talent, but still fell short because of her short lifespan. Almost as if Serie expects that someone with enough talent might be able to catch her, despite her time advantage. In that conversation, Serie also talks about her other students in a similar light.
I think Frieren will learn time travel magic, go back in time, become the goddess, and periodically come back to Himmel during his life as they grow old together (that's why he looked so old, because it was actually much more than 50 years for him due to time traveling with Frieren).
Nah, Frieren Is not even One of the top 5 strongest characters in her verse After thousands of years of training.....She Definitely can't become the goddess😂 in addition a solution like that would ruin the entire message of the story: human Life is short so Don't delay too much or you Will regret it.

@@mookiestewart3776 She isn't very skilled in general, even the worst mages Who are trying the exam are able to detect mana while they are attacking, Frieren Is not able to do that After thousands years of training....sorry but you are the One Who didn't read the manga if you think that in Eldorado arc She outskilled someone 😂
SPOILER
Frieren literally admitted that Solitar was far more skilled then her both in attack and defense and she was literally forced to free Fern in order to win 2vs1 because Solitar was destroying her....This to not talk about the fact that Frieren was scared of macht because during their First fight he destroyed her while Lerner fought him and survived Without a single scratch and macht Definitely fought back😂
I mean they’re right, trying to kill someone because you’re insecure about your relationship to your mentor is kind of insane.
The journey to Ende continues. "When????"
Frieren: "Soon."
"How many years is soon?😭"
"Soon"
1:19 Morgan is right yesss.
Dani asked what other criteria would make u pass & i think its if you seem like a challenge, like a challenge she can overcome.. in a weird way, like if you make her feel strong....which imo is twisted.. but who knows... "serie's intuition is always right" lol
Land is a legend for not even showing up to the exam and passing anyway lol
Lernen actually exploited Frieren's weakness discussed 2 episodes ago, which is why he successfully injured her. Assuming he wasn't watching them in the dungeon, it means he immediately noticed the flaw in her defense after only a few seconds. That tells a lot about his skills and why Serie said he could take Frieren in a fight.
Anyone who does labor would appreciate spells like laundry spells, spells than clean kitchenware, spells that can help in farms, etc. that's why i understand why fern chose that spell.
Besides they're already living in a peaceful era, battle spells would be pretty useless considering that mages are already pretty strong and they can take care of threats such as bandits and demons.
it was a mere 28 episodes...
I'm 100% sure when Stark said he'll wait outside it was for Frieren not waiting alone, and Fern liked how Stark is considerate for Frieren
New season has officially announce. As a manga reader I can't wait for you guys to react to it when it gets animated ❤
Could you agree that himmel is the most Hero of all heroes character of all anime? 😭
Thank you so much for your wonderful reactions!!! My heart has a small hole after this show ended. ❤
Serie is just like that because if she’s gonna be honest with her feelings she’ll be devastated because of the countless students, friends or love ones she outlived.
Dani: WHEN?! When does it continue?!
Frieren: Soon.
Fern: ....how many years is soon?
2nd season for sure will come, given how well made and well received it is, and manga readers already know who will be onion-ing our eyes in the next season (El Dorado Arc), it's Denken.
Thx for sharing ur reaction and journey with us. Loved ur takes and emotionality, and the appreciation of Lernen.
"The journey to Ende continues." such a good note to end on
You know Frierien is such a great show because the second it ends you feel a giant black hole in your life. I need more.
The ending of the season REALLY hit me emotionally out of nowhere. 10/10 show.
I just keep crying everytime I see the ending of this show
Thank you for a wonderful time, guys!
16:42 "Denken needs to talk to her"
Don't worry about that :>
Is this talking about something that hasn't happened in the show yet?
Yes@@broad_cat
If you don't know what to do with your life now without Frieren, may I suggest reacting to Maomao and the Apothecary Diaries? It's a great salve for Frieren withdrawal lol. I doubt I'm the first to suggest it to you guys. You won't regret it.
Such a beautiful show, bring on season 2 😭🙌🏽
I think Sein’s friend is definitely dead as well, if only because he needs a reason to go to Heaven with the rest of the party.
Frieren has Himmel, Fern has Heiter, Stark has his brother, so Sein needs someone he wants to see again.
💀
Denken got himself a granddaughter as a bonus
I like how Frieren last line "It would be embarrasing when we meet again" and they asking "What does that mean?" is very likely their way to confirm that there's going to be S2.
Love Stark's reaction to finding out Denken is a noble. He's still mentally scarred from way back at Graf Granat's castle.
Grandpa Denken out here just adopting grandchildren 😂🤣
I Love the Show. Im from Brazil. Thanks for all.
I love this show so much! 😭 Cant wait till season 2.... whenever that will be (please be soon! 😆🙏)
There’s nothing more beautiful than seeing hot reactors reacting to my favorite socially awkward
Elf mage. ❤
Did you catch from the end screens that Lernen (who attacked Frieren) is probably Ehre's gradfather? 😄 As she mentioned that her gf is 1st class mage and offered Wirbel an introduction
You really have to love Land, dude really went through the whole exam on a Zoom call
“When is it gonna continue” lmao my exact reaction when the show ended 😭😢
I am still waiting on that S2 announcement. Great reaction ladies
That ending song hits even harder when season is over 😭😭😭
I can't believe Land shot up from "meh" to "top tier" at the last second by discovering the ancient, forbidden power of Work From Home.
LoL
Methode is truly the most powerful of all.
We all gonna look like Old Man Himmel by the time the next season rolls around
There’s a frieren chibi version of like 10 episodes of about 3 minutes each. They’re on UA-cam although without subtitles. But since they’re on UA-cam it’s ok to watch them in pirate sites for the subs because it’s already free anyways
"WHEN!??! When does it continue?"
It's okay, soon... in a mere 50 years.
"It would be embarrassing when we met again"?
Himmel, you magnificent bastard, you are talking to us, the viewers, right?!
Now we wait for El Dorado arc, probably one of the best one of this story
Reactor in the middle: "Oh hey what spell did Denken pick?"
Oh I promise you're gonna find out, and it's gonna be DOPE.
This show so great 😢 🙏
I love this anime so much that I’m definitely gonna go back and watch it in English… if I ever get the time. For now, I just have to make do with whoever else might be reacting to it.
Man I love this show... Dungeon Meshi next !!!!!
And you alright~
Can you hear me~
😢
Yeah I felt the same as you guys when it was over. Season 2 definitely hasn’t been confirmed yet. So anyone who says otherwise is trolling
that ending song ?
is this frieren's love letter to himmel?
This show was just so f'n good.
i dont know in the future or (manga), "after all, it would be embarrasing when we met again", and the present time Frieren and group is going to heaven meeting Himmel
and Himmel in German means heaven/sky
Old man dehnken(?) took off in the middle of the night asap to get north to his wife's grave... the party will meet up w/him in his home village 😊
Despite all her talent, she failed to reach my heights."
To me, that line feels like she really thought Flamme had more talent, but still fell short because of her short lifespan. Almost as if Serie expects that someone with enough talent might be able to catch her, despite her time advantage. In that conversation, Serie also talks about her other students in a similar light.
Please react to Apothecary diaries next... Thanks...
It’s already on our Patreon! ;D -Morgan
You have to remember Frieren Cried at Himmel's goodbye. So now she's going to meet him again It going to be embarrassing.
If you like gentle works like this, you might like "Natsumeyuujincyo". The leading Japanese voice actor is the same as Levi from Attack on Titan.
Did you know Ehre grandfather is First class mage Lernen.
Frieren: =w=
Serie: =w=
-Kraft when lol-
Fern's team on the 1st exam is godamn busted
If only Sein had hanged around long enough to have met Methode. lol.
I can’t wait for season 2
crying excessively, indeed
第2シーズンは2025年の放送に向けて制作中だ。私も楽しみだ。
😭

PEAK IS RETURNING FOR S2! BUT THEY DIDNT SAY WHEN SO IT COULD BE A WHILE 😂
😍Dani🥰
Go ahead and mark me down as "not okay" too.
18:24 same
Not much of a spoiler bur i will say your gonna be seeing denken alot more but probably be a while
I think Frieren will learn time travel magic, go back in time, become the goddess, and periodically come back to Himmel during his life as they grow old together (that's why he looked so old, because it was actually much more than 50 years for him due to time traveling with Frieren).
Nah, Frieren Is not even One of the top 5 strongest characters in her verse After thousands of years of training.....She Definitely can't become the goddess😂 in addition a solution like that would ruin the entire message of the story: human Life is short so Don't delay too much or you Will regret it.
wtf lol
🦵🦵🦵👀
Recommendation: black clover
Not the screaming brat
アニメ画面が消えるたびに見える真ん中の娘の太ももにムラムラしてしまう
