      I am Ray Yes, they’re supposed to block the space between the aisle and the cockpit door side ways with a trolley. The trolley is sufficiently heavy and has brakes holding the wheels. So it should take a good amount of struggle to move, and therefore give sufficient time for the pilots to realise what’s happening and close the door. Procedures like these were put in place to prevent such incidents from occurring. Also, they have shown a crew member buzzing and entering the cockpit during taxi before take off to take the pilots’ order, this is a complete no no and they (including pilots) would be penalised for this during the post flight inquiry. Just fyi. :)

    Unfortunately I feel this is fundamentally flawed, there is nothing stopping them from landing the plane, and there is nothing stopping the civilians in the back from relatively easily overpowering the hijackers, hostage or no hostage this basically just doesnt work.

  • @francoisona
    @francoisona 4 роки тому +2

    Just watched the film. Great film but left me so frustrated.
    1. What did he not kill the unconscious hijacker when he had a chance? The man weight at least 100kg. He was bound to become a threat when he woke up. To tie he up in the cockpit was down right stupid.
    2. Why didn't he tilt the nose of the plane when they were killing hostage esp his wife? The most effective way of making them lose control. He thought of that way too late.
    I know it's easy to say when you're not in a situation but these two points are really OBVIOUS aren't they. I thought of them in seconds when the hijacking took place.

    Haven't watched the movie yet, so not sure if they did this, but in reality the pilots have the ultimate weapon to use against the hijackers - the plane.
    During the Dawson's Field hijacking in 1970, an El Al Israeli plane was hijacked and what the pilot did was to dive the plane steeply in order to unbalance the hijacker and allow the passenger to subdue the hijackers....

    But yeah, the movie itself was somewhat uninteresting. There's nothing more to it than what you see in the trailer, really.
