    Absolutely love this album. The entire alum is influenced by sounds of the 1980s, yet done with a modern prog style. But then at the same time is built around the concept of Big Brother of 1984 yet spun with the social commentary of modern times. Has the world around us really changed that much since those times? For the better? Will we ever learn. It's about time we learn our own Identity and think for ourselves (I.D.).

    Riverside is a truly under-rated band... Live shows are amazing, Mariusz brings ALL the emotion, and no one loves to perform more than Michal... band is SUPER tight

      Not in the least underrated by the fans.. little known among the rabble, true, but underrated? Nope. All I hear is near worship among the fans..

    Great choice. I've owned and listened to this album since it's release. I've been working backward thru their catalogue. Great band with some very interesting instrumentation. I'm really digging them. I'm currently listening to "Shrine of New Generation Slaves". Stunning album! I see you've already reviewed Escalator Shrine. I'll have to look for that video. Excellent job. Keep on keepin' on!!!

    You absolutely NEED to hear "Found (The Unexpected Flaw of Searching)". Pretty Pink Floyd vibes, especially from the guitar solo, but one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

    Thanx very much for reacting and analyzing this great newish track from Riverside, Doug!! I find your assessment of Riverside to be spot on. I had the good fortune to see (twice) and meet the guys on CTTE (Cruise To The Edge) a few years ago. Their shows are amazing and they are great guys to chat with. Go see them if you get the chance!!

    My favorite song from the album. That's why I love Riverside and what makes them "progressive" - they balancing between heavy moments and semi-acoustic fragments, where's only singer and piano or guitar alone heard. This contrast between heavy and soft sections makes it interesting and dramatic

    I saw them live twice last year supporting this album. This band really loves their fans, and they are a tight, closeknit unit. My favorite song off ID.Entity is Landmine Blast, which has an earworm bass lick that pervades the opening and closing sections. This band has never made a mediocre, never mind bad recording, with the one I listen to most often being ADHD. Try Egotist Hedonist off that one: Amazing Hammond organ and some really tasty guitar licks in the last couple of minutes of the tune.

    I was supposed to see Riverside a couple years ago at Progpower in Atlanta and wasn't able to make it, but I was able to catch them here in Whittier (Los Angeles)a couple months later so that was cool. They were excellent.

    This was so much fun! Loved all your double takes into the camera. 😂 I have always loved the albums Second Life Syndrome and Rapid Eye Movement…some of my very favorite music, and I can’t believe I never explored further. I had no idea they had so many albums! Thank you for awakening my curiosity to explore more. The lead singer’s voice is just magical and mesmerizing to me. The music itself is divine. I love this band so much! I learned a lot from this Daily Doug, and am taking notes from all the comments. Gentle Giant has always been my second favorite band since the 70s, but Riverside does give them serious competition. You made this prog chick very happy with this video! Thank you!

    Doug, you definitely should listen to other amazing prog rock bands, such as BAROCK PROJECT (Italy), MOON SAFARI (Sweden), RPWL (Germany), SUBSIGNAL (Germany), CROWN LANDS (Canada), LIGESIGNS (England).
    Here are suggestions of songs of each group for you to analyse:
    BAROCK PROJECT - Voyager (latest single);
    MOON SAFARI - Teen Angel Meets The Apocalypse (incredible epic);
    RPWL - Give Birth To The Sun;
    SUBSIGNAL - The Passage;
    CROWN LANDS - Starlifter: Fearless Pt. II (great epic that seems like 70's Rush);
    LIFESIGNS - Altitude (tittle track).
    All those bands are increadible. BAROCK PROJECT and MOON SAFARI are my favourites, by far.

    Hi all! I wanted to share a folk-metal band from Ukraine called Geneza (ua: "Ґенеза"), that takes Ukrainian folk songs and makes them metal.
    They have some unique traditional instruments in some of their song as well, e.x. Sopilka (ua: "Сопілка").
    For now, they only have 1 album Obrii (ua: "Обрій") and a single, they are all great.
    Happy listening!
