Hey guys, Mel here. So, I decided to record some thoughts on how I perceive this film and what I think the director has buried underneath all those codes and ciphers and pop culture references (oh my!)... deep below the surface... under the Silver Lake.
Personally, I think a lot of what viewers are being confronted with in this film regards Hollywood's attempt to program its audience... much like dogs... Beware the dog killer... May just seem like a film review, but actually I think it's an important message that everyone needs to hear right now.
    Much love! 🫶
    Mel

I've heard your conclusions about the film. And I must say, they should be of value to everyone who was asking you about it. Your conclusions can also be repurposed as good advice to all those folks who have lost themselves to the stimuli around them. It's so true. The real mystery, and answers you need, reside inside us. Some of us, however, don't begin that journey until later in life when we have more time and space to look deeper within ourselves.

The deeper message here seems to be that although we are highly social animals, we are also self-aware enough to realize that everything we believe about ourselves, in term of personal identity, social standing, etc are really a running mental construct. The Owl's Kiss actress is a contortionist professional in real life. I'm guessing he looked in drawers for her, wondering how else she got in, since there was no sign of break in. The whole glass break was to distract him. I enjoyed the movie since I've been into ciphers since 1992. I take the movie at Face value, everything that happens is real, none is imagined, he's not the dog killer, he's not the music man. Just a guy stumbles into this other world of ciphers and is on a mission to find the answers. Funny the shoot stars that walk him to the area where the Music man lives are almost NPC's just there to guide him.

19:05 it would appear that the “king” and his “wives” have been tricked into being the willing participants of a human sacrifice. I assume that’s what all the quasi-occult symbolism and numerology was leading to.
Human sacrifice has been a pretty common theme for A24 films.

i like this original theory a lot. however, from what i have heard about human sacrifice by occult groups is that it is done quickly, painfully, and unwillingly.

    Excellent.
PS: I saw two squirrels "fighting" in the branches of a very tall tree. Something told me to stop and wait. Sure enough one of them popped out and fell to the ground. It landed flat on the grass, and despite falling something like 30 or 40 feet, it bounced up to its feet, and ran right back up the tree to resume "fighting" like nothing had even happened.
    So squirrels fall. With alacrity.
    Cheers

It's not a movie that I would watch.
"Dogs" will be obedient to their "master's", or their "god's.
Obedience is the highest form of worship.
Who are you obedient to?... be honest.
    Other men, magistrates, other god's?
Check out the Strong's concordance for the frase "other god's" in the first and second commandments.

Thanks for another consistently good program.
For anyone wanting to witness blatant social programming, watch the early 60's versions of the marionette programs called 'Space Patrol' and 'Fireball XL5'.
So many cultural issues which we all currently contend with, were intentionally introduced to millions of children back in the early 1960's thru science fiction.
Knowing what we do now, this is all very unsurprising.

So much of the suffering of this world results from peoples' failure to rise above the animal. Unwanted pregnancies, materialistic desires, refusal to break from the standard mold, running up debt, refusing to acknowledge one's own ignorance...etc. Rise above the animal!

This is deep. I am someone who thinks deeply about things in life and ponders. It's nice to meet someone else who does the same. Too many people are moved by the external and not the eternal. That's why the Bible says the Word of God is given to a young person to look into, read, meditate, so s/he can ponder the path of life. It's wisdom. Hollywood, Tic Tok, etc., are creating a false reality that is full of vanity/emptiness.
