If you want the stonework to really pop, try lighting it from directly below (behind you) with a third light. Then light yourself with one panel from front left (bright), one from further away on the right (dimmer). That’s effectively a 3 point lighting setup and it’ll make things look big budget really quickly. Great vlogs - keep them coming!
Yep agree with this. Light the stone from top down or bottom up (I find top down nicer, shadows going up always throw me). Regardless this guy spot on!
It's so cool to see you putting your new workshop together, looking forward to seeing build more of your projects in it! I also rather like this vlog format XD
I'm so glad this came into my thread, or whatever you call it. I love watching your videos! You are a talented young man, and I love your attitude! I've visited your beautiful country twice and can't wait to return.
And I might add, I think everyone who's commenting has a similar thought too, just keep on being your authentic, normal person, a bit of charm and cheek here and there, with the focus on what you're making, showing off craftsmanship with imperfections at times too as that's perfectly normal as well.
100% with you on not gluing workshop furniture and fittings together. Guarantee you'll want to make changes over the years (months, even) and avoiding permanent construction makes it easier to make changes. Plus you've a much better chance of being able to reuse timber
I just finished up building a radiant LP gas heater for my own shop. It uses two runs of barn tin, placed together like spoons each a half inch apart to form a radiant flu. Lots of heat, no fumes and no noise.
@Eoin Idk how I missed yesterday's video, I'll have to check that out after this but I just wanted say _🎊Congratulations🎊_ on the new workshop, you deserve it!! I also wanted to say they really did an incredible job on the stonewalls. 👍👍
Congrats on the new workshop! I love seeing how its all coming together and all the ideas you have for setting it up. Looking forward to seeing how it all turns out. ✌️
Congratulations Eoin, what a fantastic building repurposed for such an excellent new use! Your practical skills are enabling you to start fitting it out quickly and you will soon have a superb workshop. All very best wishes for a bright future - and look forward to further vids! :)
Nice one Eoin. Just a few pointers.... raise the bottom toe board enough that you can get you feet under when standing at the bench, also a few heavy rubber mats for long term standing.
Do love the new shop, have always loved a stone wall and you have 4 your lighting is coming along famously it's so nice to see that bony boy face, it's just so cute. Looking forward to more of your coming out, in your new business. Much love from my end. Afriend.
Just brilliant. The workshop looks great so far. I’m really enjoying these vlogs 🙂 Please don’t overcome your feelings about filming yourself whilst people are watching. You’re doing a grand job. I’m ok with the before and after explanations you’re currently doing. I’m thinking that it’s less about social anxiety, and a tad more about not wanting to look like that type of “Hi guys” wanker that films themselves walking and talking in public places. The type that gets annoyed when someone “ruins” their shot. 🤣🤣
hi just found your channel and i’m hooked! your a natural (even though you hate filming yourself if someone is watching 😂. i spent years restoring old tools, but never documented it😢. loving your new workshop! now the task of binge watching. take care from Brian D. 🫡
I somehow miss the lower resolution phone camera in a way! Yet this is a big deal for you, and I hope all goes well, the channel has been very cool to spontaneously come across.
Mate you need to get led light tubes to brighten your workshop I do a bit in my shed git a proxy little window and I feel Like i am In jail cell lol Can’t beat natural light gonna build a shed with clear roofing sheets
The new workshop is awesome, I feel you will really enjoy working there with all the extra room you have. One question, you mentioned about winter soon arriving, how will you heat the workshop? Didn’t see anything to address that issue.
The way you speak is interesting. First your accent, which is cool, but also the way you construct your sentences. It is almost like Danish, and I understand you better than Paul Sellers. Your content is dynamic, lively and relevant.
Ya battery was working just needed turning up. Chances are without a microphone the camera is adjusting the level automatically that when you put a microphone in you need to adjust it manually.
What you need to do more than anything my friend, is getting yourself a good electrician and get some more mains socket s installed before you set the place on fire or electrocute yourself.
Should replace the old fluorescent lights with LED’s - you can get ones which look similar to the ones you have, but they are bright and are very low energy
Hi Eoin, I've only just found your channel, and I'm hooked already. You're such a natural easy going guy and so easy to watch. Good luck with your new workshop, it's fun to watch you 'build it' and in such a lovely pace too. Thanks for your content. Take care 🙂

I also rather like this vlog format XD
Found you through YT shorts and I've spent my morning home from work with pneumonia watching your videos. Great content, great vlogs.
2 vids in 2 days, what a treat!
I'm so glad this came into my thread, or whatever you call it. I love watching your videos! You are a talented young man, and I love your attitude! I've visited your beautiful country twice and can't wait to return.
Really enjoying these videos and 100% relate to the social anxiety of filming in public. Keep it up!
Loving the vlogs, watching from the Shetland Islands
Loving the vlogs - definitely keep them coming. It's a good way to get regular long-form content coming, which sits well alongside the shorts.
And I might add, I think everyone who's commenting has a similar thought too, just keep on being your authentic, normal person, a bit of charm and cheek here and there, with the focus on what you're making, showing off craftsmanship with imperfections at times too as that's perfectly normal as well.
Loving the vlogs, from down the road in Bandon

Cheers. Next live will be down in the new workshop
I just finished up building a radiant LP gas heater for my own shop. It uses two runs of barn tin, placed together like spoons each a half inch apart to form a radiant flu. Lots of heat, no fumes and no noise.

Yes please keep doing the vlogging it's enjoyable to see what's going on
Before you know it you will have your new workshop exactly how you want it.👍
I think camera social anxiety is a normal human response from a regular sane person, so dont feel bad Champ 😂
Adam Savage at Tested has some really cool workshop light designs which you might finding useful to look at :)
Very cool, lots of great progress!!
Workshop looking fantastic Eoin, coming on nicely ..looking forward to more vlogs
Well done
And away we go!
Your very charismatic i would let go of that fear of chatting on the camera 😊
hi just found your channel and i’m hooked! your a natural (even though you hate filming yourself if someone is watching 😂. i spent years restoring old tools, but never documented it😢. loving your new workshop! now the task of binge watching. take care from Brian D. 🫡

More fun shared videos, thanks
Don't forget about a wood burning stove, keep you warm & get red of the scraps & sawdust.
Damn why didn't UA-cam recommend me this? Catching up rn!
Been to Ireland numerous times.. do you have enough electricity in shop now your using power tools+ refrigerator
Good luck. Like your channel
I somehow miss the lower resolution phone camera in a way! Yet this is a big deal for you, and I hope all goes well, the channel has been very cool to spontaneously come across.
Wood joints with glue and screws would give you the best possible results.
More vlogs man good job
Using a lav mic which just clips onto your shift might help with getting nicer clearer audio. Some more expensive options are even wireless
Mate you need to get led light tubes to brighten your workshop I do a bit in my shed git a proxy little window and I feel
Like i am In jail cell lol
Can’t beat natural light gonna build a shed with clear roofing sheets
Crippling social anxiety my arse😂😂❤❤
The new workshop is awesome, I feel you will really enjoy working there with all the extra room you have. One question, you mentioned about winter soon arriving, how will you heat the workshop? Didn’t see anything to address that issue.
I wish I had wood work tools
With the lights in the ceiling you might be able to change the frame rate of your camera to stop it but not definite on that.
Your gonna run out of room for your wood work.
Because of your video equipment 😅😅😅 looks great thoe my buddy
Don’t forget you will need a row of shelves somewhere 😂😂
The way you speak is interesting. First your accent, which is cool, but also the way you construct your sentences. It is almost like Danish, and I understand you better than Paul Sellers. Your content is dynamic, lively and relevant.
Im so down for the vlogs
@InheritanceMachining made a cool overhead camera rig that you might want to look into for the new shop.
Ya battery was working just needed turning up. Chances are without a microphone the camera is adjusting the level automatically that when you put a microphone in you need to adjust it manually.
What you need to do more than anything my friend, is getting yourself a good electrician and get some more mains socket s installed before you set the place on fire or electrocute yourself.
god i wish i could have a nice workshop where i can make noise without worry
Should replace the old fluorescent lights with LED’s - you can get ones which look similar to the ones you have, but they are bright and are very low energy
💯👍🏼
Two words
WIRELESS MICROPHONE!!!
Tasty - YES🇺🇸❤️😎👍
