- In this video the 6.0 bros show you how to remove 6.0 powerstroke turbo. Removing a turbo from the 6.0 powerstroke is a pretty easy job and requres only basic hand tools. The 6.0 Powerstroke turbo removal can be done by someone with little experience in a few hours, and someone with a little more experience can have it removed in less than 30 minutes. This video should show you everything you need to know how to remove 6.0 powerstroke. Many people think a 6.0 powerstroke turbo install is out of their ability to do, but with some time almost anyone can do this job over the weekend. While people that have a little more experience can do this job easily in under 2 hours, installing a 6.0 powerstroke turbo is much more doable than many think. Many times you can do a 6.0 powerstroke turbo install and removal buying all the tools you need and still pay less than having a shop do it. Now if you are still not sure you can do a 6.0 powerstroke turbo replacement then seek out a good shop, but after this video I believe many would be able to replace a 6.0 powerstroke turbo. turbo affiliate links to tools and upgrade parts. Great video and perfect timing! I’m going to be installing a KC stage 2 turbo very soon! 😎
It should be here Tuesday.
Hope it helps brother!
I find it easier to take the air filter out as one piece. Hope to see more 6.0 content soon!
More 6.0 content coming man. Big news for the channel soon
Absalutely the correct, & easiest way. Same for going in.
I have not had a great time with the factory box but it does really filter the best and hold the most crap
Excellent video man...Very useful.
Thanks
Good video! It is funny to see such a stock truck! I have so much after market stuff!
I know im use to my truck that has everything changed lol. I cannot wait for my 6.0 is back. I am ready to order some stuff for it.
How much boost does your truck make going down the road on 1/4 throttle ? I feel some days my truck is lighter on it’s feet then others maybe uni ring?
Not much to be honest. It has been awhile since I'm saving for an engine but maybe accelerating at 1/4 Throttle like 12ish psi just cruising it will make like 5-7
Do you stay near the Atlanta Ga area so you can do my truck turbo 6.0 swap...
Lol I have never been to GA. I do nornally go to south Carolina every year
just up there killing it!
Lol
I’m in the market for a diesel and I’m really not sure what’s the right move. My first truck ever was a hand-me-down 02 f250 with the 7.3... LOVED THAT TRUCK..... but then sold it because it was just starting to rust out too much and had issues I didn’t have time to fix. I’ve been doing a lot of research on the 6.0 and I feel like if I were to get one at a fair price, I’d be willing to get it and then put some money into the engine. BUT, I’ve recently been thinking about maybe just waiting a little longer to sell my 13 f150 and then maybe get a 13-14 250 with the 6.7. However if I were to that, the only ones in my price range have anywhere from 180-230k miles. This next truck is a truck I’m going to need to keep for about 6-8 years and I want the most reliability I can get. I want a diesel because everyone knows they hold their value and they just last so much longer. I’ve seen a bunch of your videos on the 6.0 in recent days and have about 4 pages of notes lol. There’s definitely a lot to think about! I’m wondering what your thoughts were on the argument of what to get? A 6.0 with 120-160k miles? Or a 6.7 with 180-230k+ miles? For the sake of it, let’s just say they’re both stock at time of purchase . I appreciate any and all feedback!
How many bolts held your turbo on? Half the vids have 2 and have the vids have 3
So they are suppose to have 3 but having 2 is honestly fine. Some people leave the rear bolt out because it can round off or can be a bear to take out on the early 6.0
@@six0bros i ordered a new turbo for mine and it said it fits 03 and 04 and mines a 04 built in 03. they sent me a late model turbo lol so that’s a whole fiasco
@Jacob__ryall so the late style turbos don't fit early pedestals but you could just get the newer one. I have seen guys cut the rear flange to fit I wouldn't do that though. That company should make it right. My turbo sponsor sells their performance turbos using the 03 turbos but they include a bracket to bolt up to the late style
@@six0bros i just bought a correct turbo for it. i don’t want to risk breaking something when taking my pedestal off. my moms disputing the charge on her credit card (thank god i didn’t use my debit card) and i bought a brand new 03 garrett on ebay
Just make sure it's from a reputable seller. There are some shady sellers out there
His old turbo had drive pressure leaks. The exhaust inlet flange looked all carboned up. This will cause boost issues.
I know the y pipe was seated cause I did it already. I wish I knew what the issue with the old turbo was. I plan to tear it apart again and do a better cleaning just to see if I can find anything
Maybe mention the battery negative terminal, heat shield, and oil prime?
I do recommend oil priming but have talked to multiple shops if they always do and and most say they do not. I do think it is a good idea though. I do not always put a heat shield on, I do want to try a turbo blanket on my truck though just to see. I do not think the heat shield that comes on them does a whole lot personally. I pulled this turbo without disconnecting batteries but for a lot of people yes it is a good idea.
Hey does the torque pro app and 10$ Bluetooth plug work for 6.4 powerstroke as well?
yes also forescan works great as well.
Wow all those pieces out in 23 minutes? You have a good system down 👍
Just making shit happen lol
