I truly hope so, I did not participate in the PTR though I played for an hour, I realized I had to grind all over again and just didn’t feel like grinding tempers, uniques , aspects, infernal compass shits… but I love this game and I think they can fix it
Why would they? Season 5 is a down season. Then when Vessel is released for season 6 they fix what they intentionally broke along with new added content and sales are off the charts. Then the awful season hits and the game stays front of mind because of all the complaining. I expect the awful seasons will eventually be “MTX” seasons where they’ll start releasing nicer looking armors to offset revenue lost from people not playing.
Doesnt really matter. It’s a shortened season and most people wont be playing s5, as (per poll on sanc disc, along with myself) will just be taking the month or 2 off to prepare for the expansion release.
PTR for s4 was looking pretty rough, and tbf the start of season 3 was really bad, but they at least made adjustments to vaults that made them more fun than NMDs. They can do it....I have a little faith, but faith nonetheless.

as a programmer it would literally take Less than a Day - To (REMOVE whole party having to accept to start NM dungeon ETC. ) (Allow people to Request to join Party if not friends instead of Only being able to invite ) (ADD a Toggable Title over Character head that says Looking for Group) ( Default Friends Autojoin to on.. I literally have to tell all my friends that this is a option) Any of these EASY changes would increase multiplayer interactions but devs dont give Afuq.

Omg everyone in my party leaves when they cant start a nm dungeon because someone is afk for 2 secs or busy modifying gear to accept the stupid start of a nm dungeon. and why tf cant i just click a name in chat and request to join party.. i see so many people wanting to play or have help but instead i have to add them to friends and send a invite just to help them for 2 seconds when i should be able to click name and click Request or join part..
They had to do something to make the new tempering system pointless. Fast forward 6 months and I bet most item slots will be uniques. 1-2 years and I bet we'll be doing sets just like d3.

It's absolutely true that the there are two teams, the difference in quality and vision between the odd and even seasons is astonishing. It's like the odd seasons team doesn't even play the game that the other team is making, their decisions are in a completely opposite direction and the quality is pathetic.

@@HaydenJacobs-cq6bj Only if you are full of single GAs. The highest level is really hard, especially since you have to pick choices that get your aether up to 250. Plus you have to get the stuff to actually upgrade your keys which makes it tough to repeat. So you have to go elsewhere to get all your single GA items, get them upgraded, and then you can efficiently do this activity. plus you're spending 1 hour + for a single 2xGA item and a single 3xGA item, but they may not be for the slots you want or the stats you want. And you might brick them. Seems more than fair to me. But also you would feel pumped when you see a unique come out of that chest since it's mega GAed.
thats what ptr is for, this is the exact reason they are doing ptr, so people can give feedback, ptr is not supposed to be perfect, youre supposed to find as many flaws as possible

It's not a theory, it's fact. They have said themselves that their are 2 teams that alternate seasons. Why do you think we see devs from the New York team on the campfire chats every odd season and never the even seasons???
There is three teams working according to RAXX, but those team work on all seasons together. Question comes up : How same integrity of team pull this mess every odd season ?
Infernal hordes is basically a freakin arena where you waste time for no rewards if you fail. Arenas are cheap fillers for games that lack content, should not be the main new feature of a season.
At the end found out the most bizarre Sorcerer build. There are new tempers that let you add 2-4 heads to your hydras and another one to add more lucky hit chance. That's up to 8 heads on 3 hydras. With the passive to add 30% hydras when you crit, found out the best basic was spark as it's passive increases crit. With the frozen orb amulet those 24 hydras were blasting out a lot of frozen orbs. Adding frost nova as an enchantment, and the insane amount of frozen orbs flying around everything was freezing.
I think they should do away with boss summoning (I hate doing varshan and grigoire) and instead have a guaranteed spawn of a random endgame boss after killing 10k monsters in a region...with a 10% chance to spawn one after every 1k monsters so it's more fun. It would give us incentive to party up to clear regions faster. After the boss spawns at 10k it could switch to a different region (not helltide). Helltide should have its own separate purposes like where we go to farm angelbreath and other stuff and perhaps it could have the highest drop rate of legendaries....whereas the endgame bosses that spawn in other regions could have the highest drop rate of uniques. What do people think of these ideas? I personally think it's really silly to be able to re-summon Duriel and Andariel dozens of times in a row. It trivializes the bosses. It should be more exciting when one of them spawns. They could re-purpose the boss dungeons for other activities like seasonal quests or PVP events or turn them into tormented dungeons where special items can drop.

And if I were on their team I would also suggest that they eventually introduce Diablo as the most dangerous boss that can break through the ground in Helltide or through a creepy looking portal on rare occasions...perhaps after a certain number of items have been sold to vendors? Kind of like sojs in D2. Maybe you have a better idea for how he could appear?
@@GrantPearson I don't, but having having random portals of bosses is a great idea. That way their not nerfing everything. There's always multiple players in a general area. Have the notification like the iron Maiden appear so those that are close converge. Your idea rewards solo and co-op play at the same time. The iron Maiden in my opinion was the best addition to the game. Most of my friends came from that. You play with others for half an hour then go do your thing. Not sure why this isn't pushed more
Its not enough time either way. They can bump up the numbers a bit, but that’s it. What you saw in PTR is what you’ll get. Might be a bit more monsters and more aether earned, but this is it man. I wont be playing this garbage. Last Epoch is having a new update with pinnacle bosses, new mechanics, items, etc. Cant wait to check back.
the largest problem with blizzard is that they overpower stuff ppl have somewhat fun with those builds and than they nerf them so everyone gets angry instead of buff the worthless classes.

Because we’re doing same thing repeatedly so it should be more surprises like Ubers not only getting from boss raids, spread some in NMD, helltides, world boss or even by just doing NPC quest. More surprise more Fun
Issue with stacking profane mindcage is multiplayer, because I believe the monster level is only increased for the player using it (or maybe for the party) but not for other people in the open world so it can still be killed easily by those not using the mindcage. They probably want to think of a solve for that first.
i am believer that nerfs need to happen, but 100% that they shouldn't just completely kill builds to be never played again. they just need to bring them down a bit to even them out

Have you ever heard the saying "comparison is the theif of joy"? Yeah druid is crazy weak. But I can currently masterwork my gear and kill all uber bosses with pulverize. @@NinjaNerosis Nerfs are fine, when new things get brought in, it can lead to some kind of build to perform waaaaay better than it should be (as in being miles above anything else). It's fine to implement some kind of nerf to bring it down a bit but not outright killing it. But at the same time, other things do need to be buffed that are performing very poorly. Issue you will run into with constantly buffing everything is things can get out of control quickly. There is a balance that needs to be achieved and while balance in any game will never be 100% perfect, it's still something that needs to be worked on, through nerfs and buffs. Blizz tends to buff things that don't need them though and goes overboard on things that do need nerfs.
Its the way how blizzard learns. They learned, that nerfing builds ears them a shitstorm. So now they just make it harder to get to these builds. We need to teach them again with a shitstorm.
I hear you on caps sucking, but we need to give them an alternative option. Everyone says end game builds are too strong but caps are bad we need another solution to bring balance.
The caps just makes every build target the same thing. There should be some builds that go all in on vulnerable and ignore crit. There should be come builds that go all in on crit and ignore vulnerable. This is one of the reasons why Sorcs suck and completely lack diversity in their builds. All Sorc skill trees and paragon boards look almost identical except for their core skill. Tal Rasha ring forces all sorcs to do fire, lightning, and ice. They don't really have options on their enchantment slots because they must touch every element in order to get their biggest damage multipliers. Devouring Blaze forces all sorcs to get burning. Why is the most important thing for an ice sorc to make your enemy burning (with Tal Rasha and Devouring Blaze, that could be like ~40-50% extra multiplicative damage)?
You could just use diminishing marginal utility and not hard caps. You can tell this game has some smart people being drug down by an organizational structure and too many midwit buffoons who don't understand their own product.

Boy, it's incredible to see that Diablo 4 team is just so inventive and has such incredible imagination. I mean rebuilding greater rifts twice two seasons in a row who could have done something so unbelievably perfect.
I don't think people realize how short 1 month is in terms of development time. The PTR is very very close to the actual Season 5 build. They are probably just going to tune parameters like drop rates and values on items that are overpowered vs underpowered. The state of the PTR does not inspire confidence because it makes it seem like the developers don't play the game. It's full of bugs and flaws that were immediately discovered by players within one or two hours of playing. Do they at least let an intern play it before doing a PTR?
solution: bring everyone to the barb level, then divide every number in the game by 1 million ... we are getting dangerously close to diablo 3 numbers only 1 year after release
New idea: Eternal realm lets you keep one of each class only. You get to keep seasonal gear from every season going forward (which they can design around) and you can only level up your eternal realm characters by rolling over season character experience. There is no level cap. After level 100 you get a level for every 2 seasonal characters of that class you roll over. Eternal realm has a leader board for every game mode for single players and groups. Rework PvP to add objective based game modes and teams for which you can queue. Queues are MMR based on your Eternal realm class MMR. Top 100 on each leader board gets custom cosmetic items. Seasons are one month on one month off, and incorporate a new game mode which rolls over to eternal realm after it completes. We’ve got to make eternal realm worth investing in or that game is constantly going to be a flip flopping toss up on whether we love or hate it.
Some of these “features” in season 5 are just so far gone that I truly can’t comprehend how you can make these decisions. It’s actually impressive at this point. Open a chest for one legendary? You can’t convince me someone at the studio said that out loud and went “great idea!” Wtf is going on?
Hard disagree on removing the stacking debuff on Pit bosses. I'm fine with nerfing the HP some more but, you should definitely need to dodge boss mechanics. It's not even hard now that they reduced the spawn rate. Maybe reduce it a little more and tune it up so no mechanics overlap. Skill should be a factor to some degree.
I agree on it shouldn’t just be a damage sponge. If they massively reduce boss life compared to the rest of the run it can be okay to be really hard to survive for a short time imo
@@Rob2628 Not sure what you mean by "massively." I think another 30% nerf would be okay without compromising the boss difficulty too much. Bosses should remain the most difficult part of the Pit and not be on par with trash clearing.
I've been saying this since S2. The way they 'fixed' vuln and crit by making ALL damage affixes additive was a very poor decision and detrimental for further development of the game. Because of it they've been handfeeding us multipliers (bugged or not) via paragon nodes and skills. So every class had a very limited set of multipliers accessible and all good builds were using them. Who would've thought that people stack multipliers to become more powerful. It's like they don't understand or don't want to accept how power is typically gained in ARPGs. Now - with all the caps - we are back to all damage affixes feeling pointless. You'll be rolling 250% conditional damage on a weapon and it doesn't fn matter. Even meeting the condition all the time the dmg increase is negligible because it's all the same additive bullshit that we already have several thousands of by the time we hit lvl 100..
its literally just instanced helltides. it could at least be more fun if they let it. spawn a shit ton of monsters. make the power ups actually engaging etc. etc. the more balanced / in line they try and make it, the more boring itll be.
The armor cap design change was brilliant though, shifting survivability to max life. In the past a monster would 1 shot when it defeated your armor cap, now you have a chance to heal and fight when it defeats your armor
honestly still a positive since this is the whole point of the ptr, so we can find the bigs and what’s not good ahead of time instead of it making into the season. They seemed to do pretty well from season 4 ptr to into season 4 and I think this will follow. Seems like alot of the issues are problems from past that prob got fixed in season but weren’t worked into ptr. I’m optimistic outside of the core game issues we want to see fixed like group play, bugs, new creative builds ect..
You say this because all classes have been nerfed and barbarians are untouched. Season 5 will be very bad. More than 70% of the game will play barbarians. It may even be the worst season ever.
What Diablo players want: - high density monster areas - builds that can do the preview one fast enough - loots that make us happy doing the first and the second
You didn't notice the "seasonal elixir" when it drops on the ground? It pretty much states that the mind cage, holy bolts, and the speed elixir are seasonal :)
i dont think there is any possible way season 5 can be saved without at a minumum having a 2nd ptr window. they are going to overcorrect and undercorrect on so many things, season 5 will feel like game launch where they were hot patching whirlwind everyday
Some Abuse Hint to your Mindcage solution : Imagin 4 Man Team , 3 Dudes Putz +5 Mindcage on and makes the Mobs harder / but buffs the loot . Now your most skilled/equiped Party MeMber dont use the Cage and kills his low lvl Monster for your High lvl monster ? That would be a massive Abuse . Instead if you party up all party Member had to fight the same lvl monster than .
Great video - It feels like developers are intentionally making games more s**t over time, or at least making them less intuitve and more time-wasting under the banner of 'content'. It really seems like there are 2 different dev teams that have some sort of in-house disagreement on how to balance this game, one in charge of even seasons and the other in charge of odd seasons.
It's almost like the S5 team took an earlier version of S4 hence that's why bugs retuning or in general buggy interactions. Also the new uniques are either way too strong or bugged af.
Why Blizz cant Test it them self and see what pian in heart it is fighting Pit Bosses. And cant do normal resenable Damage instedvof billion and quadrillion Damage?

Try Last Epoch. You can play druid or sorc and be much stronger than in D4. Its like $35 on steam.

At the end found out the most bizarre Sorcerer build. There are new tempers that let you add 2-4 heads to your hydras and another one to add more lucky hit chance. That's up to 8 heads on 3 hydras. With the passive to add 30% hydras when you crit, found out the best basic was spark as it's passive increases crit. With the frozen orb amulet those 24 hydras were blasting out a lot of frozen orbs. Adding frost nova as an enchantment, and the insane amount of frozen orbs flying around everything was freezing.

17:58 there is also an aspect with +9.6k armor. Who needs gear, strength or so, when even the aspect runs instand into the cap?
I think they should do away with boss summoning (I hate doing varshan and grigoire) and instead have a guaranteed spawn of a random endgame boss after killing 10k monsters in a region...with a 10% chance to spawn one after every 1k monsters so it's more fun. It would give us incentive to party up to clear regions faster. After the boss spawns at 10k it could switch to a different region (not helltide). Helltide should have its own separate purposes like where we go to farm angelbreath and other stuff and perhaps it could have the highest drop rate of legendaries....whereas the endgame bosses that spawn in other regions could have the highest drop rate of uniques. What do people think of these ideas? I personally think it's really silly to be able to re-summon Duriel and Andariel dozens of times in a row. It trivializes the bosses. It should be more exciting when one of them spawns. They could re-purpose the boss dungeons for other activities like seasonal quests or PVP events or turn them into tormented dungeons where special items can drop.

And if I were on their team I would also suggest that they eventually introduce Diablo as the most dangerous boss that can break through the ground in Helltide or through a creepy looking portal on rare occasions...perhaps after a certain number of items have been sold to vendors? Kind of like sojs in D2. Maybe you have a better idea for how he could appear?
@@GrantPearson I don't, but having having random portals of bosses is a great idea. That way their not nerfing everything. There's always multiple players in a general area. Have the notification like the iron Maiden appear so those that are close converge. Your idea rewards solo and co-op play at the same time. The iron Maiden in my opinion was the best addition to the game. Most of my friends came from that. You play with others for half an hour then go do your thing. Not sure why this isn't pushed more

Its not enough time either way. They can bump up the numbers a bit, but that’s it. What you saw in PTR is what you’ll get. Might be a bit more monsters and more aether earned, but this is it man.
I wont be playing this garbage. Last Epoch is having a new update with pinnacle bosses, new mechanics, items, etc. Cant wait to check back.

the largest problem with blizzard is that they overpower stuff ppl have somewhat fun with those builds and than they nerf them so everyone gets angry instead of buff the worthless classes.

Issue with stacking profane mindcage is multiplayer, because I believe the monster level is only increased for the player using it (or maybe for the party) but not for other people in the open world so it can still be killed easily by those not using the mindcage. They probably want to think of a solve for that first.
POE season same time as D4 S5, I think i'll just wait for more expansion leaks to see if Diablo is worth coming back for me. I loved S4 though.
The Odd Season Dev Team's PTR needs a PTR or maybe 2 PTRs. Blizzard needs to start recruiting competent devs.
And some internal QA testers. If they had even a small team of that, most of these problem wouldn't even make it to beta.

@@NinjaNerosis Nerfs are fine, when new things get brought in, it can lead to some kind of build to perform waaaaay better than it should be (as in being miles above anything else). It's fine to implement some kind of nerf to bring it down a bit but not outright killing it. But at the same time, other things do need to be buffed that are performing very poorly.
Issue you will run into with constantly buffing everything is things can get out of control quickly. There is a balance that needs to be achieved and while balance in any game will never be 100% perfect, it's still something that needs to be worked on, through nerfs and buffs. Blizz tends to buff things that don't need them though and goes overboard on things that do need nerfs.
Cap the fun right before PoE2 beta? Crazy.

I hear you on caps sucking, but we need to give them an alternative option. Everyone says end game builds are too strong but caps are bad we need another solution to bring balance.
Just reduce the scaling of these but not cap the fun
Why did sorc need caps again? Burn builds are useless in the PTR cause of these caps and there's literally no avenue they have to scale further lol
The caps just makes every build target the same thing. There should be some builds that go all in on vulnerable and ignore crit. There should be come builds that go all in on crit and ignore vulnerable. This is one of the reasons why Sorcs suck and completely lack diversity in their builds. All Sorc skill trees and paragon boards look almost identical except for their core skill. Tal Rasha ring forces all sorcs to do fire, lightning, and ice. They don't really have options on their enchantment slots because they must touch every element in order to get their biggest damage multipliers. Devouring Blaze forces all sorcs to get burning. Why is the most important thing for an ice sorc to make your enemy burning (with Tal Rasha and Devouring Blaze, that could be like ~40-50% extra multiplicative damage)?
You could just use diminishing marginal utility and not hard caps. You can tell this game has some smart people being drug down by an organizational structure and too many midwit buffoons who don't understand their own product.
I'm glad some of the UA-camrs are finally calling out D4. People like Rhykker CONSTANTLY praise this game and it's quite annoying.

I don't think people realize how short 1 month is in terms of development time. The PTR is very very close to the actual Season 5 build. They are probably just going to tune parameters like drop rates and values on items that are overpowered vs underpowered. The state of the PTR does not inspire confidence because it makes it seem like the developers don't play the game. It's full of bugs and flaws that were immediately discovered by players within one or two hours of playing. Do they at least let an intern play it before doing a PTR?

New idea:
Eternal realm lets you keep one of each class only. You get to keep seasonal gear from every season going forward (which they can design around) and you can only level up your eternal realm characters by rolling over season character experience. There is no level cap. After level 100 you get a level for every 2 seasonal characters of that class you roll over.
Eternal realm has a leader board for every game mode for single players and groups. Rework PvP to add objective based game modes and teams for which you can queue. Queues are MMR based on your Eternal realm class MMR. Top 100 on each leader board gets custom cosmetic items.
Seasons are one month on one month off, and incorporate a new game mode which rolls over to eternal realm after it completes.
We’ve got to make eternal realm worth investing in or that game is constantly going to be a flip flopping toss up on whether we love or hate it.

Hard disagree on removing the stacking debuff on Pit bosses. I'm fine with nerfing the HP some more but, you should definitely need to dodge boss mechanics. It's not even hard now that they reduced the spawn rate. Maybe reduce it a little more and tune it up so no mechanics overlap. Skill should be a factor to some degree.
I agree on it shouldn’t just be a damage sponge. If they massively reduce boss life compared to the rest of the run it can be okay to be really hard to survive for a short time imo

@@Rob2628 Not sure what you mean by "massively." I think another 30% nerf would be okay without compromising the boss difficulty too much. Bosses should remain the most difficult part of the Pit and not be on par with trash clearing.
I've been saying this since S2. The way they 'fixed' vuln and crit by making ALL damage affixes additive was a very poor decision and detrimental for further development of the game. Because of it they've been handfeeding us multipliers (bugged or not) via paragon nodes and skills. So every class had a very limited set of multipliers accessible and all good builds were using them. Who would've thought that people stack multipliers to become more powerful. It's like they don't understand or don't want to accept how power is typically gained in ARPGs.
Now - with all the caps - we are back to all damage affixes feeling pointless. You'll be rolling 250% conditional damage on a weapon and it doesn't fn matter. Even meeting the condition all the time the dmg increase is negligible because it's all the same additive bullshit that we already have several thousands of by the time we hit lvl 100..
Who cares if they "fix" it. The core mechanic of it is literally a room where monsters spawn...this will be fun and exciting for a week tops.

its literally just instanced helltides. it could at least be more fun if they let it. spawn a shit ton of monsters. make the power ups actually engaging etc. etc. the more balanced / in line they try and make it, the more boring itll be.
The armor cap design change was brilliant though, shifting survivability to max life. In the past a monster would 1 shot when it defeated your armor cap, now you have a chance to heal and fight when it defeats your armor
This may be true but some classes can’t stack HP because they already do piss poor damage. There’s no balance to be found.

honestly still a positive since this is the whole point of the ptr, so we can find the bigs and what’s not good ahead of time instead of it making into the season.
They seemed to do pretty well from season 4 ptr to into season 4 and I think this will follow.
Seems like alot of the issues are problems from past that prob got fixed in season but weren’t worked into ptr.
I’m optimistic outside of the core game issues we want to see fixed like group play, bugs, new creative builds ect..

i dont think there is any possible way season 5 can be saved without at a minumum having a 2nd ptr window. they are going to overcorrect and undercorrect on so many things, season 5 will feel like game launch where they were hot patching whirlwind everyday

Some Abuse Hint to your Mindcage solution : Imagin 4 Man Team , 3 Dudes Putz +5 Mindcage on and makes the Mobs harder / but buffs the loot . Now your most skilled/equiped Party MeMber dont use the Cage and kills his low lvl Monster for your High lvl monster ? That would be a massive Abuse . Instead if you party up all party Member had to fight the same lvl monster than .
Great video - It feels like developers are intentionally making games more s**t over time, or at least making them less intuitve and more time-wasting under the banner of 'content'. It really seems like there are 2 different dev teams that have some sort of in-house disagreement on how to balance this game, one in charge of even seasons and the other in charge of odd seasons.

It's almost like the S5 team took an earlier version of S4 hence that's why bugs retuning or in general buggy interactions. Also the new uniques are either way too strong or bugged af.
