Just a heads up - unbeknownst to me, UA-cam unsubscribed me from your channel sometime since your last lesson.
    Thought you should know.
Love you and your channel! Thank you so much Dr. Abramson! Hashem should bless you and yours.

Doubt it. UA-cam pushes his content because he believes in the talmud. Guy is heretical.

Very useful. I have long wondered how and why the diaspora ended up in inhospitable frozen climates like Russia, Poland, etc. what could possibly attract them there???

This is fantastic, but you missed referencing the Bene Israelis who migrated to coastal Maharashtra in India

What did the exiles do for a living? The people of the countries where they took refuge had their own lands ie. Lithuanians, French, German, Egyptians, etc and would have been farming their lands - this is the period before the industrial revolution. The Jews had nothing when they landed in these foreign countries. It would be interesting to know how they got along, maybe if you could give a talk on this subject.
I have guessed for some time that eg. the Jewish community in Umayed Spain would have have been merchants and traders exporting Moroccan cotton cloth (a valuable commodity back then) to colder northern Europe, France, Holland and England etc. The lace making industry in Belgium, I think was started by the Jews or they improved on it. The communities of Yemen, Afghanistan and the Silk Road cities again I am guessing were mostly traders and probably into money services like issuing cheques - as merchants could not carry gold and silver coins with them because of the danger of robbers along the trade routes. Thank you sir.

Gods has brought back the Jews only which is the old kingdom of Judah which was made up of three tribes; Judah , Benjamin and Levi. This 3 tribes are the Jews. The northern kingdom of Israel ( the ten tribes) have not returned and an a very important fact is that they are not Jews. They are never called jews in the Bible. Also one main reason this ten tribes of Israel have not returned to ancient Israel ( Palestine) is because they are independent nations today in the midst of the world. A jew no doubt is an Israelite but the majority of Israelites are not Jews.

@@eugenegarcia9415 personally I believe the other Israeli tribes are gone. They will not be back till the new/next world. The Jews are the remnant that is left.

The number 1 reason why Jews ended up everywhere is because Judaism is a meaningful and compelling way of life. This made it worth it to continue to be Jewish in the face of periids of tremendous discrimination and isolation over 4,000 years.

The video is only a partial overview. Ethiopia was just touched on at the end. More mention of sub Saharan Africa is needed. There was no mention of Jews in India and China. Also, while the Khazars conversion in the Asian steppes is controversial, it should have been mentioned.

I wonder about the intent of your comment:" It's an exciting time to be Jewish". Do you refer to what I know of as a Chinese curse "may you live in interesting times"? or is it purely intellectual? "much to learn?"
