Flange, to me, is "one note at a time" pedal played slowly. I've mentioned it before, but most pedals after 1 or 2 o'clock on the dial go to the "weird sounds zone." All modulation pedals do that.
You have almost 1/2 of the pot that is unusable. The majority of the higher end brands have more functionality. Theres nothing quite like chugging on a power chord with that swirling sound though. Some fast 80's riffage too these pedals sound sweet
I've always been a fan of the flanger sound, whether it be Jimi Hendrix, Alex Lifeson, Jimmy Page, EVH, Brian May, etc. There's something about that effect that is hard to pinpoint but is very effective. Thanks for the demo Brian.
Flange is on of those effects best used in moderation. When you switched to the distortion pedal, that's when the flanger really sounded good. Nice review.
@@JayceAllanGuitar I have very limited experience with flanger….and for everything guitar for that matter🤣 but I do think it’s best used with distortion
You had me dyin with those siren 🚨 sounds bro😂!! I think it’s a decent Flanger pedal for the price and I would definitely Rock out with it on my pedalboard. Flangers always sound better when you put distortion through it!! IMO it’s a perfectly capable of doing that EVH thang!! Thanks for the review brother Brian and until next time….. Stay safe, Stay metal, and don’t forget to riff.?!🤙🏻😎👊🏻🔥🤘🏻😂
Great review! Thank you! Try The TC electronic Thunderstorm. All the TC pedals are on sale at Sweetwater for $30 and up but the Thunderstorm is BAD ASS for $36 right now (01/14/2025) and it is useful for ambient and crazy stuff. I dig your demo and reviews man. You are honest. I would consider this Strich pedal for a low-fi almost 80's sounding flange effect.
Awesome video. I need to get some content up myself. I got busy recording songs now that my diaphragm & stomach muscles are finally healed a year after the heart transplant
It's an ok flanger at best, rather limited range. Many better options out there but you will need to pay more for them. Owned a lot of flangers over the years and it took me a long time to settle on the right one for me. Cheers!!
@@BenCoombs yeah I’d be interested in a one and done flanger. This is ok to just show you kinda like a “my first flanger”. What did you decide on, your were spot on with the Embers? I liked back in the day just from demos the Alexander Pedals flanger
Very Cool Thankyou Brian. Awesome Demo/Review. Really fun effect to use. More interesting Strich products, hope they make it to Oz. All the Best. Cheers
My girlfriend makes the same sounds when she’s sleeping. I now realize if I just get the pedal I don’t have to take it out to dinner before I get to use it.. I thinking of purchasing this menace I like it a lot.🎉🤙🏾
Great demo of another affordable pedal. Considering the price, I'd say it's punching at, if not above, it's class. It certainly compares favorably with other budget pedals, and outright beats a lot of them from what my ears said.
Flangers can really make or break a Riff that just needs that sort of something to spice it up and using one is fun but hot yo keep her under control! Like muffling with your palm over a grw strings and right combo of effects can make it a much better than slone but not worse flange but if I was a First time user might enjoy!!! Yake carr my Music-In-Law Brother 🤘🎸🤠
If I were to own a flanger it would be thee flanger of all flangers. This is not it but at least something to show you if it’s an effect you’d consider
I'm not sure if that pedal would make my playing sound better or worse. I think I'll have to get much better at playing to make a flanger work for me. Or I could just buy a slide-whistle! 🤣Cheers, bro!

That really is a nice sounding flanger. 👍

It might be time to start putting together a pedal board. A flanger looks fun to play with.

Yeah it’s cool to mess with, I guess at this price it’s pretty good instead of spending $100-$200 on a fully fledged name brand
