- During a recent trip to San Francisco to film some projects with Tested, Bill got to visit Adam Savage’s workshop and team up with the Mythbuster himself for an epic one day build! The duo made a replica of the Nazgul gauntlet using EVA foam. In this video, Bill makes another gauntlet and then paints them all to look like real metal.

Punished Props Academy you should try to make Gandalf's staff
I want to make these out of steel but the link to the pattern isn't working
@@windigowhispers you have to unzip the file, but you need a special app or program to open the thumb file, i dont know the name of the needed program to open it but most parts are similar to the finger parts and can ve done by eye
Hope i could be of help
Punished Props, is there a particular reason you did not use Plasti Dip on this project?
Did you dirty up those screws as well? Or perhaps later?
It's so cute seeing how Bill is super nervous in the Tested video
HAA! I was thinking "Be cool Bill. Keep it together." the entire time! =D
Ah, okay! I must have mistaken it with your "Try not to faint Bill." face! ;)
Wow what a surprise im subscribed to both of you
Adam Savage's passion for cosplay at his age is what made me get into it age 30. I then scoured UA-cam for tutorials and such. That's how I came across you guys, Evil Ted, Cosplay Chris, ZonZonZonbi, Kamui Cosplay, Dali DIY, Xieng Prod, Odin Makes, Andrew DFT and other amazing cosplay creators.
That's a pretty splendid crew! =D
You should check out John hay. He is an awesome cosplay
You need to check out KAMUICOSPLAY
Thank you so much Bill and Adam for this build! I made a Ring Wraith costume a few years ago but had no idea how to tackle the gauntlets. I am so excited to finally finish the costume and realize a 14 year long dream of being a Ring Wraith!
You are most welcome!
19:22 ~ LMAO imagining a Nazgul soldier clapping like a 5 year old when he gets his armor on
Great build these look sick as f by the way!
That moment on the battlefield, when the ringwraith realises he put on the foam armour by mistake.
And that's how the Hobbits won the battle for Middle Earth.
John Matthias XD
@@bring-out That's called a helmet, honey.
@@bring-out Whooooooosh
Excellent work. Inspiring. Great to see you and Mr. Savage collaborating more and more. Thanks
Those are awesome! I learned a lot watching you and Adam.
Great ending to the two videos, well done 🏆👍🏼😊
Thanks so much!
When you couldn't buckle the left side it reminded me so much of Edward Scissorhands trying to use a fork 😂
Ha! I should try and eat with the gauntlets on.
This is why knights have a squire to help them.
Watching you and Adam work together was fantastic, both in seeing the process you guys have as well as how much fun you guys have working together! I hope you guys will be doing more of these!
Me too! =)
Such a pleasure to watch you work. Thanks, Bill.
You're welcome!
You and Adam make an awesome team to watch - can't wait for more videos!! Keep it up.
Will do!
Great build Bill. I'm glad you get to spend more time with the Tested crew!
Thanks Hugo! They're a great crew. =)
Those turned out fantastic! You are seriously amazing at working with foam, it looks so easy when you do it!! It was also a lot of fun watching Adam get so excited over this stuff :)
Thank you so much!
Very cool! the paint came out awesome, of course. I watched the video on Adams channel too OMG he was so excited and, naturally he has a machine made specifically for bending the finger bits for gauntlets, as most people do. ;)
Thank you so much. =D
I like Bill's adaptation of Adam's device for making consistent curls, copper pipe and conduit. Punished Props once again shows us an innovative way of using commonly available resources. Thanks Bill and Brittany.
More Tested and Punished Props collabs confirmed! Yissss!
Oh yes, we have LOTS planned!
One of your best builds ever! Wish this resource had been available in 2004 when I built my Witch King of Angmar costume. I used sheet metal and my gauntlets are a constant hazard for drawing blood or losing an eye. Note, the same principles can be used on the boots. Looking forward to more of your stuff on TESTED!!! Thanks again for the free templates!
Yay! I may have to make the rest of the costume...
Congratulations Bill! Happy to hear you'll be regular with Tested
Thanks so much!
Well done Bill !. Super job and super collaboration with Tested !
Thanks so much!
Nicely done Bill! beautiful build and one hell of a paint job. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much!
It is SO COOL that you made the pattern files free to download. That is such a rad thing to do honestly. You rock and I always love your videos!
Thanks so much!
I've learned so much about foamsmithing from these two videos, wow! So good!
Part 2. Wahey!! Great job Bill. Love it!
Thank you!
Awesome build 😃brilliant to see yourself with Adam 😁 hopefully we get to see more videos like it 👍
Thank you!
I have been looking for Chicago screws for years, never knowing what they were called but needing 1 for a model kit that had its threads stripped. Now i see them everywhere. Also, i used metallic gold in place of brass coloring & also liked it better.
Nice work! I’ve really enjoyed your work, and I look forward to seeing you on tested premium.
Thanks! Lots to look forward to. We filmed a lot of stuff!
I really like the new painting technique. It looks so nice for that material effect.
Why thank you!
This was another great video. It was great seeing you and Adam together.
Thanks! =D
Love the video. I also think one of the really cool things about all the PP videos is how you get a kick out of the little things. Using the pliers to grab the strap, totally fun.
If we can't amuse ourselves, what's the point? =)
GOOOSH these are AMAZING😍
So effin cool! Thank you guys for being so damn awesome!
Aww shucks :)
You are some sort of hero to me. Thank you, honestly.
Bill, I'm watching this video on my birthday and i'd like to say you have been a huge inspiration to me as a crafter, and you have taught me a good chunk of what I know. I'm 18 now and it's videos like this that have inspired me to be a professional Cosplayer/Propmaker. May your contact cement be sticky and your sanding be brief!
That's wonderful! Keep making. =D
Those are some super cool kitty-petting gloves you have there Bill!
Love both these vids so much, just wanted to say thank you for the patterns! VERY much appreciated :)
The cats are *not* excited about these gloves.
I love these videos, you make these projects so easy, Thank you.
You're welcome!
You should totally do the rest of the costume! That would so cool. So glad you and Adam were able to do a collaboration! It was a like a dream come true for me.
It was a dream come true for me too. =D
this is so cool!! im very creative myself, im sure with the templates i can make the gauntlet but there is no way i can paint it as close to real metal/rust as you did. hat off you too sir!
Awesome video yet again keep them coming! :)
That was a great cross-over series! Like the X-Men/Teen Titans cross over.... but with foam :) Nice work Bill!
Hahaa! I like it Colin! =D
Loved both videos! 🙌
Thanks for the free template! it's difficult to create my own for gauntlets and this should really help me. Thanks so much!
You're welcome. Have fun!
This is great was pleasantly surprised it didn’t look that good on the thumbnail lol good job!
I know this was awhile ago, but I’m enjoying it today! Love your channel! Nerding out 😂🤟🏽
Thanks so much for watching!
Nice to hear you'll be working with Tested more, your channels go great together.
I agree! I'm so excited to do more cool projects with the whole Tested crew.
New sub thanks to the Tested collab. Fascinating stuff and you've already given me some ideas
Fantastic!
So good! Love it!
Thanks for giving away the pattern! I will definitely be doing this in leather one day!
You're welcome. That would be AMAZING.
I agree.. THis is awesome that you gave the pattern for us rookies. Lets hope I can build this now
That looks so cool! 👌🏼
Awesome! That looks so badass!
Thanks so much Elton! =D
omg thank you for the free patterns i love this channel!
You're welcome!
Beautiful work ! thank you
WOAH!!!! That looks amazing!
Thanks!
Love both of these videos!! Awesome job!
Why thank you!
Punished Props Academy I mean really, it's hard to go wrong with two of my favorite makers doing a collab... 😀👍
Amazing work as always, Bill :D.
Thanks so much!
I love them they look great.
Thank for this sharing! Really interesting!
Congrats on the colab!
Now I REALLY secretly want to try doing it with paper. Also that plied trick for that belt in the end was genius!
Give it a go! =D
They look great.
I love how you fashioned a heat forming tool from a copper and aluminum pipe, mounted on a vise. Genius!
You can accomplish a lot with simple tools!
Darn they look great, thank you Bill for sharing this with us! Tip for my Canadian who can't get Barge cement up here; Try the Dura-pro rubber cement =)
Great tip, thanks for sharing. =D
Awesome Bill. Great to see you have a bright future with the tested mob. Would have loved to have seen your face when you entered adams cave..holycrap!! lol
It was something like this: twitter.com/chinbeard/status/967140434177740800
Hello!! Seen you in Barnacles' Videos too!! This was very Calming to watch!! Keep up the great work! It would be interesting to see a Parody build of these Gauntlets with "Pretty" Gardening Gloves as a base and the rest of it prettified and dainty. That would be an interesting cosplay
HA! That would be pretty splendid. =D
super cool, would love to see the rest of the armor done, helmet etc.
I'm just sitting here in awe during the whole process, yelling to myself "How can you make this look so good?!?" It looks freakin amazing after the paint job.
Thank you so much!
Wow, crazy good work!!
Thanks! =D
excellent work ,
Omg!!! Now u gotta do the ring wraith mask from foam!!!! Yeeeessss
Looks awesome! You are tricking my brain to believe that's metal. :D
Thanks!
Love this colaboration 😊😊😊
Thanks!
I have a lot of appreciation for your high detail explanations, and your still camera angle.
It's a lot better than the epileptic blur zoom-in and zoom-out of Tested's awful camera guys. D:
This seems like you are living the dream of many prop builders: hanging out with some of the coolest and most influential people in the community ^^ I would be just as stoked if I could build something with you or Ted, Adam is just the guy who pulls you into the club so to speak ;)
I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty great. =)
Those turned out sweet. By the end of the video I actually forgot they were foam! Great work!
Thanks!
Nice Build Bill! I know Bob from I like to make stuff always talks highly of you. I did a recent foam build where i created the Worlds 1st steam punk flare gun. It was fun working with the foam and I enjoyed the tricks you shared! For sure love the bottle for the glue... Totally going to the garage and doing that one now! Brian
That Bob is a swell fella! Have fun building! =D
Frickin Awesome Bill thanks for the share :-) G
Thanks for giving the pattern away I will be attempting this in steel tomorrow ! 😀😀
You're welcome! That sounds really fun.
the dry brushing was well done addition
So jealous. I can't believe Adam Savage got to spend the day with you!
HA! What a lucky guy! =D
Thank you Adam Savage for introducing me to this new channel I enthusiastically subscribed to
It would be amazing if you can do a wearable Infinity Gauntlet from Infinity War out of foam! Watching this and your collab on Tested gave me some ideas on how it could be done but I would love to see how you would go about doing it.
Outstanding! Those edge highlights really make a difference.
I guess Frank Ippolito has gotten a bit too busy for Tested these days, and you're a fine addition to their team this year, Bill. Really looking forward to more.
Thanks!
Hey I love your work, you guys should totally make a foam or warbla version of the infinity gauntlet
I know this vid is a couple years old, but this is my first foam project. Iv got it all cut out and sanded up real nice now. Just waiting on a few things to get to my house and I'll finish it up. Those finger pieces are tedious as all hell to cut by hand lol. Thanks for such a cool project tho man. I'm having a lot of fun with it.
That's absolutely fantastic! Share what you make with us on Twitter: twitter.com/chinbeard
Awesome stuff
awesome thanks just discovered eva foam and cosplay , look forward to building some suff
Well that was awesome.
I can't wait to get my hands on these templates and some worbla to make nice durable gauntlets to wear senior year, they will make a fine addition to my collection, wait a minute, wrong trilogy
Woohoo! Have fun!
Glad to have found this channel via Adam :)
Happy to have you. Look around. We have over 600 videos on prop and costume making.
best timelaps montage music ever!
It's hard to believe that those are made out of foam. Simply beautiful
Thanks for the patterns! It helps me a lot. Gonna make them from plastic.
You're welcome!
This looks amazing. I wonder if a better fitted glove would make a cleaner fit
What a gorgeous looking piece. Pretty crazy to think it's almost entirely made of foam.
Thanks!
I do a lot of leather work and I am guessing you can use foam strips instead of leather for the fingers. Also to attach the finger pieces with a small Eyelet and Snap Punch could be a more simple option. But of course, that's me being excited and speculating LOL This is awesome! So thrilled to hear you'll be doing more on Tested! And also thanks so much for the patterns ;)
Yeah that could work too.
Aww he called me a fellow maker and I feel so proud! I'm like a newbie prop maker. I started really recently but I made a pair of like wasteland goggles out of craft foam and hippie sunglasses I'm super proud of
Lol I loved how you thought to use the pliers to tighten the other strap.
Awesome project. I plan to attempt to make this out of Aluminum sheets from hobby lobby.
Hunter Haider i would definitely recommend getting aluminum online, or from a local metal supplier. It is going to be waaaayyyy cheaper than hobby lobby
These look SO COOL. I think even *I* and my unskilled hands could do this!
You totally could Joel! =D
Bill ,don't give Joel false hope ,give him something simpel to start like a small foam kitchen knife. 😁😁
I'd love to see you print and assemble/paint one on your channel.
Joel unskilled is the last thing you can call your hands. I mean you build printers man!!! Awesome first video to watch on my B-day!
Say what?? Joe? Awesome.
Love ths crispy sound on the metall gauntlets XDD
It is so satisfying.
