I had the privilege of spending a week in ZF with Terry many years back. Good to the see the cockpit stickers and Terry’s smile haven’t changed. It’s a magic experience isn’t it.
Yes, was an amazing experience with Terry!
@@SteFlyjetzt hast du mal die beste ASH25 make im Schwabenland kennengelernt :-) Schön, dass die Haube immer noch funktioniert 😊
Wonderful to have you and Elena with us for the day. Really enjoyed flying with Elena in the Janus. She is a very good pilot. Nice video of our wonderful scenery. Come back any time.
Thanks John. Was a fantastic day flying with you all at Springfield. I´m sure we will come back :)
Wow. What a beautiful and elegant sport!
Always stunning videography! But I really want one of those tow-cart locomotive thingis , for sure. Love it!
That is serene and wonderful mountains !
고요하고 멋진 산이군요!
7:24 ha thats meee 😂
Thanks for stopping by for the day stefan. Good memories they were indeed Great photos.
All the best in your travels wherever you are.
Thanks for your help. Was great to meet you! :)
Quite different from our hang-gliding days above Allandale in the 70's Terry.
All time favourite aircraft! I've not flown a motorised version but have quite a bit of time in a pure glider '25. Love those long bendy wings....
Stunning, thanks for sharing 👍
Great video thanks Stefan.
No comment about the canopy on this AS-H25 MI Stephan? I noticed the canopy releases were not in typical AS locations and then, it's a one piece canopy topped off with electric operation. Interesting setup.
Yeah, I'm in for the electric canopy setup! Wow!!!
It’s a custom one piece setup. The glider used to be Steve fossett’s and Terry bought after Steve died. At least when I flew it with Terry there was only one spare canopy and would cost around 25k to replace. Terry only had one rule. Only Terry touches the canopy. I was fine with that lol.
This was also one of the first things Terry told me. Never touch the canopy! I refused to ask if I can attache my suction cup GoPro mount to the canopy. Instead this video was entirely filmed with my handheld iPhon 😅
@@SteFly smart choice. I don’t there will ever be a suction cup mounted on that canopy for its entire life.
@@FinalGlideAusThanks for the information. I figured it was a custom job either by the factory or aftermarket. It looks very good.
Hi Stephan, Impressive wing flex on this glider, should help to find the smallest bubbles !??😊😊
nice to see the Baseline so clearly! @wich altitute? Könnte auch in den Alpen aufgenommen worden sein... Hammer Video
beautifull sky dance
Great video, as always🙂 the mountainous terrain looks pretty hostile in the video. Was there a period of the flight where you had no landable area in reach?
No, we always had a landing spot in reach 👍
Aerotow and self launch at the same time? Short field or?
IMO Records and badges achievements should be recorded in a separate category for motorsailplanes, apart from sailplanes...
Psycologic state is a key factor in decision making during challenging flights.
How does this relate to the video? Gliding is a technical sport and in some cases an engine might be a good solution as a backup.
Hi Stef, both ES TAKE OFF + TOW PLANE!??!!
geile haube. geht die elektrisch auf? 😅
Ja, man fühlt sich wie in einem Jet 😂
Stefan…Could we have some words on the nowadays obviously very flexible wings? Why so much flex? What materials are they made of? Change in aerodynamics? Thank you.
That's actually not a new design. That design is nearly 30 years old... Maybe more. The wings are from the 22BLE.
@@TheSoaringChannel Doesn’t quite tell me what I asked, does it…. Even if they are 30 years old. How about my questions?
@@josephinebennington7247it is an open class ship with 25 m (depending on the outer wing configuration) wing span high aspect ratio, and thin profile.
Only the very stiff carbon fibres make it possible to implement such a design. The flex is just inevitable with these design parameters.
Every open glass ship with the high wing span config has this amount of flex
The very flexible wings are old fashioned these days. They flex like that because they are mostly fiber glass. Over the last 30 years wings have progressively switched to carbon fibre, which makes them a lot more rigid. The flexibility was not a desired effect, but rather a consequence of the search for thinner wings without the adequate material. These days wings are even thinner and very rigid.
@@tinchote Aah, thank you.
Mention to fix canopy seal
This glider reminds me U2 spy plane reaching unknown heights.
Please do some15++ min videos!
That looks like a country that was made for gliding.
It is!
Wtf is happening with the wing @ 2:23? Looks like some kind of flutter...
Guessing he just pushed an pulled the stick a few times to make the wings flex, as a wing wave greeting to the other glider 🙂
nope im sure that's just flutter! looks too methodical for a human im guessing, what is up with the assisted launch? I can't find any info on that anywhere!@@realpokski
That is absolutely 100% deliberately pilot induced by wiggling the controls rapidly.
2:20 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 FLEX THOSE MUSCLES. Or wings, whatever!
