    I started TMS 2 weeks ago and I can most definitely notice improvements. I am more engaged in life, want to do things. I have had no side effects. I am 70 years old and just wanting to die so bad. I actually laughed at a comedy. My life has been ruined by depression. Tried talk therapy and so many meds. I am not stopping my TMS. If it damages my brain, do you really think I want continue with this killing depression? Life is not worth living. I have felt this way everyday of my life and I know it hindered me from reaching for higher goals. I can honestly say I do not know what it feels like to be happy or feel joy. So zap me.

    This gives me so much courage and just pure comfort in knowing that there are other people who are or have been going through depression for a long time. I discovered in 2022 that I was suffering from PTSD which sends me in highs and lows of depression. I've been on 4 anti-depressants and still seem to struggle at times. But then there is joy in the littlest things around me (which tells me there is hope for a better and safer life). I live in Pakistan and hope that treatment is over here. I am on the look out.

      I am in treatment 21 with my TMS and honestly it's completely changed my life. I've been depressed since I was 3 according to my mum, and no medication has ever worked. I can safly say it has changed my life for the better. For the first time in life I've found joy and was able to turn off the TV and GET OUT OF THE HOUSE! I tell everyone about it and think everyone should try it!!

    If you are looking at TMS especially deep TMS… you’ve already tried meds and talk therapy. But maybe the doc said it just in case someone just tuned in and haven’t tried anything. If you don’t feel any changes after 3 weeks I suggest you ask for a remapping. I learned this from a UA-camr documenting her journey. When I did that It was late in my treatment and I only got about three weeks at a higher dose and new location. I started to feel like I wanted to do things after the remapping and three weeks but then it was time to end. I may appeal my insurance as well. Make sure you advocate for yourself or find a experienced location that knows over time that adjustments need to be made if you aren’t feeling better. My next round I think I am going to Vanderbilt were they have been doing TMS for over four years or more. Just to see if there is a difference. I am trying out of pocket neurofeedback to see if I can get better results. And I need to try appealing insurance. We shall see

    • @AndrooUK
      @AndrooUK 2 роки тому

      Sometimes change is difficult to notice when it's not sudden, or maybe you need adjusted treatment, new coils for TMS, supplementary or changed medication.
      Sometimes people are just born defective, and can't be helped, or treatment doesn't come in time to make sufficient improvement.
      Many people are not able or willing to believe that some psychological, psychiatric, and developmental illness or disorders can never be treated or cured, and are intolerable to the patient.
      This can lead to doctors and society making endless promises of improvement to life and disease when sometimes they just can't be cured or treated. You should try what you can, and may improve in many conditions, but sometimes you just won't get better.

      @Archeological student Even drugs can cause some people irreversible problems.
      It's unfortunate if you've not experienced the outcome you wanted, but if it helps more people than it hurts to get out of severe mental illness then that needs to be assessed and a calculated risk taken to use or not use TMS.

    • @AndrooUK
      @AndrooUK 2 роки тому +2

      Some treatments known to be safe and effective aren't licenced by drug companies in the UK because it's not anymore for a drug that is out of patent.
      There's a reason they keep reinventing the same medication over and over, instead of using traditional drugs or novel uses for existing drugs. It's not profitable to do all the licencing stuff for new uses of out of patent drugs.

      i had derealization from anxiety, starter ssris and it helped .

    • @orthodox_gentleman
      @orthodox_gentleman 6 місяців тому +1

      Before considering any treatment, I strongly recommend consulting with a top-tier psychiatrist. Derealization can be a symptom of various disorders, but it is often treatable with medication and different forms of talk therapy-so keep your options open and try various treatments. In cases of “treatment-resistant derealization,” which falls under Depersonalization-Derealization Disorder (DPDR), it’s important to note that Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is typically not indicated unless it’s part of severe treatment-resistant major depressive disorder. Generally, insurance companies approve TMS only after multiple other treatments have failed. Out-of-pocket, Deep TMS could cost around $15,000 for a complete course of 36 sessions. It’s crucial to discuss your ongoing psychiatric care and insurance coverage. If you’re in the USA, these factors will significantly influence your treatment options. Lastly, I would advise against trying ketamine or Spravato for derealization, as these treatments could potentially exacerbate the symptom.

    I woke up in my emotions and wanted pancakes for breakfast. Pancakes with sausage and eggs (and I know I'm not eating meat!)!
    This forced me to reach inside and talk to the part of me that hurts because I knew she didn't really want pancakes, or any of that other stuff. She just wanted to feel comforted.
    Because I love her SO MUCH, I made her a deal...I would create a breakfast of things she loves that would not only make her feel comforted but would also be healthy for us.
    We enjoyed a bowl of oatmeal with a pinch of cinnamon and a dab of agave nectar, topped with blueberries and roasted pecans (I put a little butter in the pecans when I roasted them to give 'em a little pick me up).
    She doesn't feel like smiling much today and I'm not going to force her. No one likes a fake smile. She didn't comb her hair when she woke up, and I didn't suggest otherwise, so there will be no selfies today.
    We will, however, celebrate the fact that she got out of bed! And, more than that, the fact that she woke up to see another day.
    This is how I use self-love to move me through my sadness. I want to honor my feelings rather than get stuck in them like I used to do. Or, use alcohol to numb the pain. Those days are LONG gone and my mind, body, and spirit are so much better for it.
    As a result, I am able to choose to have a great day.
    Which means...today is going to be a great day!

      It is a treatment for ruminating thoughts. Different areas are stimulated for different reasons. Stimulation on the left is for anxiety, stimulation on the right is for depression, TMS on the top is for more of the OCD or ruminating thoughts, along other things, I believe.
