Another great morning in the Bonsai Zone! How are you feeling today Nigel? Off to water my thirsty brugmansias, and then - giving the first haircut to my new nursery stock hinoki cypress. Have a nice day!
Another excellent video and together with my coffee and sandwiches makes it a wonderful moment to enjoy life :) Yeah, that pot surely invites to alot of imagination and the fun part is that I like the "back" better than the "front". That shows we all have different takes on the world and that is a beauty in itself with the diversity - take care everyone!
I love the angular design with that pot, and I also think that front branch actually looks good, the way it follows the pot, and has very nice movement :)
I really like that pot Shanney made. That trees suits it perfectly.. Hope we get to see an update the new temple you worked so hard on casting. Take care
Nice composition this pine. Will be interesting to see an update of that tree to see if it buds back, as scots pine usually do like crazy if well cultivated like yours.
I love that pot! 🥰 It DOES look like the side of a mountain, and I really like the styling you did today! I appreciate that you keep an open mind, and try new things that are non-traditional. I think it looks AMAZING! I hope that you and Connor have a fantastic time on the 4th. 🙂
I love playing along to see if I agree with your pruning choices. I have been playing this little pruning game with myself since I started watching your channel. It helps me learn, and it's so much fun! This tree looks so much better with today's work! It's very exiting! Thanks Nigel! Have a fun, safe trip tomorrow! Lisa
😄..it can be quite nerve wrecking watching you making some of your pruning decisions Nigel phew !😄..you always make the right decisions though your experience stands out..really enjoyed this one thanks so much..🦆
The slant of the pot and the slant of the tree, nice theory of the snow running down. Tree looks good so far. Road Trip. Cool. Check out for some really cool and unusual trees to try and bonsai at the nurseries. Rock collecting is always fun. Hope you find some good ones. Looks like you hit the nail on the head with the cloth idea for the Baobab seeds.
Nigel, I'd like to suggest you take the short cascading branch off and then wire and bend the longer one that comes across and covers the trunk and front of the pot to the side to follow the angle of the pot. What do you think?
Hi Nigel, I enjoyed your scots pine prune and the updates :) I've been listening to your weather updates now for a few weeks and I'm a bit stumped at how similar your weather is to ours here in the middle of Germany. The temperatures you mentioned at the end of the video match exactly with ours again and we are experiencing an unusually cool and late summer too. Been raining for almost a week, sun has just today decided to come out again.
Hi Nigel love your videos, I have a question are still building your greenhouse? Last I heard you were waiting to pour your foundation . Do you have any updates? Take care Dj
Well, well done! Your pruning allowed the pine and the pot to come into artistic balance and harmony. The sum is a beautiful compliment, a modern bonsai pas de deux of form and motion. Was afraid some of the cuts were going to be too much, but not so. This bonsai will be fun to watch mature. Thanks for sharing. 🌿🌿 Speaking of Xin (is that spelled correctly?) and his channel, Maybe Bosai, I've subcribed and now check on him and his trees. I'll listen for mention of his lychee bonsai. Beantown 14 C🌡 now.
@@therealSais i have watched one of his videos where he explains why he doesnt use wires and honestly I cant remember the exact reason but I believe it was something to do with the wires cutting into the tree. Less scars for the tree to try and heal. Either way yea clip and grow is slower but it results imo in more natural looking final products, as its near impossible for a human to recreate the chaotic yet organized way of nature 🙂
I dident like the last cut you took nigel. I feel you took the balance out of the tree. But your tree. You do what you like. And I really hope you can take that big air root from ficus fancy on left side. Think that would inproved the tree. That has to go. Has been annoying me a looong time 🤣but again your tree. Your design.
I quite liked that big branch at the back as well, it seemed to flow really well with the shape of the pot. Rather than taking it off completely, maybe it could have been made into deadwood where it protrudes over the protective slope of the pot, exposed to wind and weather?
I like where you're going with this pine , suits the pot very well.

I liked the back, too. I think because you can see more of the trunk.
I like the synergy between the tree and the pot, the alpine spirit of this composition is truly expressed, especially after this last intervention!
Thanks Shany, I hope it all comes together some day!!!

Very nice bonsai. This plant looks fantastic in this hand-made pot. Just love where you are headed in this styling.
Wow, that couldn’t have come out better. So dramatic. So elegant. So…cascadey. Love it.

Nice Nigel. That's a great tree and pot combination they are both wild and tortured looking.

This is going to be a killer tree in some 5 to 10 years :-) I like it more and more with every new video :-)
I'm wondering when you'll begin construction on the glass greenhouse.
Yes. Looking forward to see this 😀
I think he's waiting for the guys to put the cement foundation in place. Maybe it's hard to get an appointment or so
Cool 😎
Very special Nigel, it's like a fragment of pine that survived a vulcano eruption!
Cool, that sounds about right!!
Very interesting and informative

beautiful pine!
Love the uniqueness off that tree!
Litchi is one of my favourite fruit 🤤

Hey Nigel what brand of cutters (the ones with the wood handles) do you have?
It looks like a quality tool.

That pot is fantastic! Pretty sure I've got a scotts pine growing from seeds I did last year, hopefully one day it can look as well as yours
Thanks Dan, I hope your tree does well!
Your road trip sounds exciting. Have fun!
Hai
Nice Video and u r plant pots are so different and Nice collection 👏👏👏
I love that pot Nigel
the result is convincing👍
Well that lychee is for sure growing better in your care. The one I have at home is growing but not as good as yours haha
Ha-ha. Point it out sometime.

Love this one..
The link to shanedesign is not working. Can you provide another? Thanks.
Small but really look big in nature
A great improvement
Thanks, I think some day the tree will look good!
It starts to fit the pot.
Yesssss Nigel!
Get the hedge trimmers out ...
Do you wire your bonsai?
No, I try not too!
@@TheBonsaiZone but why not? ,isn’t wireing part of the bonsai culture ?
@@therealSais he likes the natural style clip and grow yields.
@@LemonsGraphics that is a style but what’s wrong with wireing branches?is it not more affective?

That bottom branch is really weird, it almost looks like its been pasted on the side of the tree.
retirement goals imo
No I just don't like that loong branch.
