Still sad AF there won't be a season 2, this show deserved so much more.
This show is ok, but I liked it enough and I agree. It was no BSG, but it was unique so I would like to see what could be done with another season. Overall, due to production constraints the show was executed... mediocrely. The concepts behind it however, are groundbreaking in the truest sense. Never mind the nuanced approach they took with the breakthrough in AI being two-pronged and not simply one rogue program, or the first modern depiction of a consumer metaverse alongside unparalleled data collection technology, a paradigm that will define the coming decades. Even more important was the way they approach immortality. This is something truly though-provoking. Were the Cylons from BSGR truly immortal?
This show didn't get enough money and that likely has to do with many behind-the-scenes problems that are irrelevant to me. If this show was done by another production company it could have been even more popular than BSG.
This series was something else.
I originally started watching this show because the actor who plays Tamara (Genevieve Buechner) is one of my favorite actors. But the whole virtual world thing and everything else in this show is really interesting to me and now I'm sad it won't continue. I wish I had started watching it when it was actually airing.
This show deserved to continue. It probably would have answered a lot more lingering questions
I agree. I got so bummed out when I found out they cancelled it after the end of Season 1.5.
I feel it was ahead of its time.
Sci fi drama was not big back then. It had to be action in the style of BSG, Terminator, District 9 etc.
Lots of explosions and bombs to get attention.
It's only more recently we've seen smart and drama based Sci fi work. Look at ex machina, altered carbon, mother, black mirror etc. Nonone of them would have been the big hits they are now in the 2000s.
Netflix and online platforms have really given space for major scifi shows and films based more in thought and dialogue.
Shows like game of thrones and breaking bad make for audiences enjoying smart shows.
I'm sure Netflix or amazon would have wanted this show if scifi still discarded it in 2019.
Also with the rapid pace of robotics and AI this decade, along with terror groups carrying out small attacks all over Europe and other regions, as well as the rise of government deception and corrupt corporations, the plots, tone and narrative of the show would have fit this era well.
It could have been a great show if given room to grow and expand and connect with the more sophisticated and tech savy viewer today.
@@shanehughes3511 Really, the themes were way ahead of its time, and very current nowadays. Saint Juniper, Upload, and many more are recent narratives than pick up themes Caprica presented years ago.
