That poor baby! I'd imagine the poor child has a pretty bad bruise on that leg by evening. And I agree, putting your child that close to a strange horse is just idiotic--standing in front of the sign that says "Horses May Bite or Kick". SMH...
Tourists should be arrested for messing with the horses and get a heavy fine . The guard should put a sign up for the public to not get within 10 feet of the horses or expect immediate police action. 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
I don't understand why they don't change the surface where the horses stand to one that is less slippery. Metal horseshoes on cobblestones make it so difficult for horses to gain traction.

Hello from Spain, there are new rules implemented. There is a white line around the boxes, and people are not allowed to cross it. So photos are taken at a bit of distance, which is 100% better than before. There was no reason at all for people to 'have to' touch the horses or guards. It's just stupidity on behalf of these idiots. Especially pushing their children to where basically a very large animal could change its deminer, at a second's notice, and injure or worse anyone too close. Maybe they should show videos of what could happen and the aftermath, as an information video before entering places like this. It's good when there are so many UA-camrs filming every day that when things happen, there's video proof.
Actually, a line has recently been painted on the ground around the horse and rider, which must not be crossed by tourists. This has alleviated somewhat the issue of tourists standing too close.
Exactly!! this is why I suggested a "corridor" of space in the area - - -- but of course a line was run through my comment. If leadership had brains, they would dangerous!
I think some days the horse sees, smells or feels something in the crowd and decided it was not going to stand there at that time. People are a lot less respectful than they used to be, I think the horses are aware of this and react, the idea they have now had to paint a line round the area to keep people back , though give it a while and people will ignore it.
Well ''prince'' Harry rode a pregnant horse to play polo and an hour later the poor horse had a heart attack and died, and of course her colt died too.
Qué horror!! Pobres animales pensé que éso pasaba entre gente ignorante solamente pero tratándose del príncipe y gente muy bien educada realmente me quedo sin palabras 😢😢😢
It's a 50/50 situation, most of the tourists don't speak or read english so the signs need to be updated in several languages. Yes, the signs may detract from the tourists photos but it's not their needs. Safety for the horse, the guard and the public is paramount. I really feel that there needs to be a barrier of some description (rope, chain or bar) in front of the guard and horse, that can be opened for the changing of the guard. While it is a traditional and mainly ceremonial role, both the horse and guard must be protected by the ever increasing ignorant crowds.
The click bait picture is obviously AI generated. I do agree that people need to show respect around the horses and the King’s Guards. The signs are there and the don’t go beyond the lines area is clear. Still people ignorantly push the boundaries and mock the King’s Guard’s
They need to get rid of those cobblestones before one of those beautiful horses gets seriously hurt. They seem to fall far to often.. as for the tourists well, they obviously have no idea the power behind these beautiful animals.
This whole exhibition is really cruelty to horses. The cobbles are most of the problem, they need to be replaced with RUBBER ones, give the horses a chance to grip. In this day and age, I am amazed that the guards do not seem to realise that this should be halted.
Do horses in the wild stand on rubber? Obviously have no idea about the duties of these military regiments. Sure as eggs are not from camels, the Guards have no control over their assigned duties.
Some of the visitors/tourist think this is some sort of disney exhibit or ride they are visiting, instead of a working barracks, with professional soldiers and horses.
The horse does not want to go into the doorway. I imagine it is incredibly boring and the fact they have occurrences which are out of their control. The horses must get really bored.
I am 53, I have been riding since the age of 9ish, please believe me when I say, seeing a horse go down and not get up immediately is a cause for concern. I would love to know what happened afterwards. I would hope and expect it was seen by a vet right away, or at the very least, before the mount went back on duty. Please, anyway with more info?
No entiendo la soberana estupidez de meter al pobre caballo en ese espacio tan reducido, siempre en la misma posición, y rodeado de gente. Dejen que se vaya a pastar al campo y ande libre o es que no ven que está hasta los c... de estar ahí.
1 hour. That’s not hurting the horse. These horses have the best care. They every 5 months they get a month’s holiday to frolic in green fields & play in the ocean.
Maybe put up a barricade to limit access from the public to get close to the horses. To hell with their pictures. Not everyone knows what an animal that big will do. 😮😮😮😮😮😮
I wonder what part of the notice saying horses may kick or bite, don't some people understand?? I don't think that tourist was drunk, stupid and arrogant enough to think he knew better than the guard, but not drunk 😮😮😊😂

I realise it's tradition and a money-making business, but I still feel sorry for the horse. I suppose you also support fox hunting.
