It is nobody's business how many oats you need and use. I think we need to bring back the term, "mind your own business!" Enjoy whatever oats you buy and use. Be a good steward of what you buy and use. And forget what everone else is saying. I think your recipes are great. I am going to try them!

For those of us that buy in bulk, a few times of the year, to save money and time, we get it. No explanation necessary. Frugal scratch meal preppers, all do this. We don't shop weekly, and sometimes not even monthly. We buy what we use, and we use it over months and we know how to cook, and we take pride in making healthy meals for our family. Fabulous video! Great recipes.

I'm sorry you feel like you have to defend yourself. You've explained so many times how hard it is to find some of these things in Alaska. You do what you need to do to feed your family. Most of us have seen what is coming and are trying to fill our pantry. Loved this, I'm the only one here that likes oatmeal so I can't really justify more than the big tub I get lol. It all looked so good to me. 💛

I have not EVER commented on UA-cam, but with that said, I am for the first time today. You are such a blessing. I love your sweet spirit and heart for your home and family. I watch all your videos and my husband now asks about that “family in Alaska.” My husband totally can relate to yours and loves how he will “force himself” 😅 to join in. Your channel is real homestead/keeper of the home life. You are helping so many with basic skills that will be much needed in the days ahead. May God bless your family, your homestead and your channel. Praying your health improves! I have been battling breast cancer and the ill effects, and have Celiac and Crohns. I refuse to allow satan anymore time in my life. I do what I can, a little at a time, a task at a time. When my body says stop, I do. I’m learning the art of being still before the Lord and allowing Him to renew me. May you flourish in good health and keep sharing! Blessings.

Oh my goodness I made Aaron read this we are both here to say wow!!! Thank you I’m beyond blessed to find that such amazing people are watching and getting anything from it. With that said. The Whole message was touching, it’s wild what illness can teach us and the strange way it bonds us with the I might not know exactly but I know how she feels. Things you wouldn’t wish on anyone. Things you wish you were the only one on earth who understand the pain or suffering, only to look around and realize how many others feel it to. I do try as I feel God has given me a new life to be happy and find joy in every day. God bless you and keep you. May God make his face shine upon you and all those you love. Thank you for sharing.

I have to mention the superior quality of Azure rolled oats and every single product I've purchased from them. I make mine 1 cup at a time but definitely going to try making some ahead. I use a mixture of pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds and also dried chopped dates, just for a couple of other ideas. There is no way you could even find anything in the store that would equal what you made yourself today. I've been ordering small amounts of things like the chia and flax seeds, so I'm going to try that too. There are only 2 in my house now and I go through 25lbs of oats pretty quickly, maybe 6 months at the most. I encourage everyone to try this, it's one of those things that you'll say "Where have you been all of my life?" No comparison to the packets. Thanks for all of the combination ideas. I appreciate you!

Please don’t feel you have to justify your stock and taking care of your family to anyone. Everyone is at different places on their journey to being able to care for their families, especially in tough times. Those that are just awakening to how no one is coming to save them from tough times are trying to catch up and are realizing the sense of panic starting to set in their stomach. Some will lash out and blame others for their not recognizing what’s happening around them, but most will look for others like yourself who have already figured out what we ALL should be doing for our families, looking to learn❤️🙏🏼🇺🇸

It's just me, but I'm going to make a scaled down volume of these.
Just a note on the granola, if you are like me and only use a little at a time you can store the rest in the freezer; keeps the oils in the nuts and the coconut oil from going rancid.
I make my own greek yogurt plain in the crockpot, have it all week in the fridge. I like adding granola to it for breakfast or a late night snack too.
    Thanks for recipes.
I'm a firm believer that recipes are the true gold we pass to each other!

I see so many homesteaders and peppers on youtube being attacked for having backups and stockpiles. My parents were raised during the depression and we always had a stocked pantry and stockpile because they remembered not having enough food to eat. I think this is only common sense and forward looking. The people who criticize are the ones who will be begging for help during the next pandemic, economic downturn, etc.

I adapted it from an old family recipe that used crud I and applesauce. I have reduced the oil and use coconut oil in its place and have increased the amount of applesauce. It is so delicious and filling! I have to double or quadruple it when I make it because it goes so fast. Lol. Keep up what you are doing! A wonderful display of using oats. When my 9 children were kids, I just cooked the oatmeal for breakfast, and then added a dry fruit of their choice to it. Believe me, they were not as tasty as what you have put together! My neighbor had an orchard, so apples were available: I picked tons of blueberries and froze them, and also did the same with peaches. Food has come a long ways since the sixties!Thank you for a great video. Bev in Maine

You did a video about stocking the pantry first with herbs and spices. It really resonates with me. You always hear that spices go bad quick so only buy a little at a time but I thought if you store it correctly you should be ok so I bought 500g bags (uk we don’t have anything like azure) I’ve then to go on to buy a couple of pounds of different types of dried beans as I really understood what you were saying about it’s the herbs and spices that turn a very basic item into something delicious. In times of difficulties you can still eat like kings of you have the ingredients to elevate the ordinary to the extraordinary. Thank you

You do go through great amounts of different things. I have 3 boys who have eaten like full grown adults since they were little. I have experimented with bread, but never took the time to learn better or get better at it. I look forward in learning about those grains and bread making. My boys are grown and two live near by our farm and 1 is in town with wife and our 2 grand kids. But not to far away. I have always shopped big and went when I needed things only. To this day I do the same. Today had 8 over for dinner, absolutely love family and fellowship. You are doing a remarkable job! BTW, maybe NAN or pretzels in future videos? Thank you for your time.

Your gonna laugh, I also order from Azure and made sure I got all the ingredients for the “instant” oatmeal packets this past month and made up a handful of breakfast oatmeal. It is seriously SO GOOD that I look at those packets on the counter and can hardly wait for breakfast to roll around every day. I loved all these varieties including the baked pumpkin. My husband eats oatmeal everyday for breakfast but plain with brown sugar. I bet he would love these varieties especially made up to just add water. He does use instant oatmeal that I buy from AZURE in 50 lb bags. I have everything already except the dried peaches, apples and chia seeds. If i gather correctly, you made 72 individual baggies made up. How awesome you are for getting this all done including baked oatmeal and granola. I guess folks don't realize how much you can go through this amount of food. I buy bulk because it saves money and time for me. I do make from scratch meals and bake our bread. Don't buy store bought bread or other things due to added ingredients for preservatives that aren't healthy. I don't have children at home any longer and in my sixties. I now have the time to do made from scratch. Although our 19 year old granddaughter lives with us and enjoys the homemade food. It's a blessing to have her with us. I only buy regular oats too and if I need quick oats, I just blend it up. My husband is the big oatmeal eater and he likes maple brown sugar or cinnamon which have to be the two most basic and he won’t let me make them. I swear he will like them better and I can adjust to exactly what he want but some of your flavors sounded amazing. I saved the pumpkin baked oatmeal because it sounds amazing. I have a granola recipe I love and mine has coconut in it. Super tasty but I saved yours to try too.

Homeschool mom👋 and YES this will be VERY helpful. We eat a ton of oats too. I will probably storage them in small glass containers. This will help my kids be more independent when I’m out on the farm doing chores.

Exactly! You can just put like a 1/3 c scoop in and they then know exactly how much to scoop out. Great idea.

I am so glad to hear I am not the only one who eats at least 2 pkgs of instant oatmeal at a time. 1 is just not enough. I had no idea now easy it is to make a tastier, more nutritious version. Yours look delicious and I want to try this. I agree with the others who have said it's sad you have to justify this. I wish that people didn't make you feel this way. However, you are a kind person and you are very gracious in how you deal with it. 💖

This is giving me great ideas, I’d love to use mason jars however they are in short supply after canning season. The snack sized bags would be easier to store but a mason jar would work well for a grab and go.

I'm trying to stock up food for three years as I really feel we're in tribulation. I also want to be able to help my friends and family. Thank you for making this stressful time so much fun!!!!!!!
