Townes Van Zandt will never die. Guy Clark told a story about when Townes was living with the Clark's temporarily. One morning at breakfast Townes sang this song. Guy said that's nice. Where did that come from? Townes said "I wrote it last night in my sleep". He just woke up in the middle of the night with this song running through his head so he got up, wrote it down and went back to sleep.
I watch this video at least once a day . I can’t sing a lick , but I sing right along . This is how REAL MEN are . Nothing fancy . Just solid individuals . Fine business guys.
It's okay no one sings licks anyway. Vocalists usually sing hooks, verses and choruses. They aren't that complex. Anyone who wants to get better at it can. Doesn't mean yo will become Pavarotti but if Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan can sing in public with a little practice and maybe a few lessons you probably can too.I can't promise that because some people are tone deaf or have vocal afflictions that make singing pleasingly unlikely. That said most people can sing if they try. And even if you can't there is no shame in having fun with it by yourself or with friends .
I sent this to my daughter this morning. She said it made her ugly cry. We are 1000 miles apart but every few days we are joined by a song. This song really filled that void today. Thank you for recording this song.
The technology to make this available on a worldly scale is amazing, but the actual event and humanity of the moment are far more incredible. If technology went away this circle would still exist and that’s what matters.
I just lost my best friend of nearly 20 years, 10-25-2023. We buried her yesterday and I've been avoiding music today because, I'm trying so hard to not sob. This song was in the suggestions and something just made me click it and I'm glad I did. Thank you! I REALLY needed this. And I believe she still will..... 💖😇💖
You got to let out. Let the tears flow. I still have songs that remind me of my best friend from the 4th grade. He past 3 years now. I cry and sob. My wife knows I still deal with his death. It’s not easy to let go. But I always go to music. And I just found this band and song. This is just amazing!
PLEASE, PLEASE, upload more of your music on You Tube. I’m a 72 year old ‘old hippie’ that loves your music. It touches my heart as I listen again and again. Townes Van Zandt’s music is some of my fav. 👏👏👏👏👏🥰🥰🥰🥰
