I looove the black and white skirt, but the embroidery has a typo in French :( I love the stuff I see in Collectif, but I never know how to include it in my usual wardrobe. Any tips for someone who doesn't wear a lot of vintage?
Oh no!! What is the typo? My french is out of practice haha. My advice (besides just go for it!) is to start with pieces that are a little bit more neutral and less overtly stylized. Like a swing skirt can be worked into almost any wardrobe, but will give you that fun shape and swooshy-ness which is so appealing with vintage style. Skirts like this can be paired with sweaters, button down shirts, even t-shirts and still work! And dresses that can be layered with lots of other things (like pinafore dresses) are a good way to go. That way you have more control with the look as you can change the whole vibe by pairing something else underneath!
@@SalindaNichols There's an extra "i" at the end of "extraordinaire". It's weird, you'd think they'd have checked it before making them! But it doesn't take away from how cute the skirt is! Thank you SO MUCH for your tips, I hadn't really thought about layering for example. I found a really nice Collectif dress on Ebay (thanks to your great Ebay video), I can't wait to try it!

The first dress looks orange to me is it just the camera? I buy collectif all the time but I do buy from other vintage retro stores too.
I'm not sure, it looks yellow to me both irl and on camera 😅 but I am prepared to be wrong haha I've asked some friends and answers are about 50/50!
