Good morning sister Marion Ann Taylor.
What a wonderful and faith - inspiring explanation of the book of Esther. Please strengthen our faith on the rest of the Bible books. Thank you for the "rich spiritual food" provided. Many blessings from Jehovah God and Christ. Amador, Kingdom Christian from sunny Puerto Rico.

Regarding the lack of religious language in the Hebrew version of the book of Esther, sometimes God is 'silent'. He doesn't have to advertise. We are lead to rely upon the wisdom of others and our own understanding of who God is. Such is Esther. As she debated in her mind on what to do, God sent her uncle Mordecai to remind her of our own responsibilities to live out what God has already told us to do. Esther is us without the direct voice of God in her ear, but the work of the Holy Spirit stirring within her.

This is a wonderful lesson that is not afraid to delve into the book's difficulties down through the ages. I did not realize there is a longer version of Esther. I will definitely find this, not that the short version is to be disregarded. I did know about Luther's hostility toward the book. Prof. Taylor states that she shares the conviction of Canadian theologian Lee Beach that Esther is particularly valuable to the church today as it wrestles with questions about how to survive and thrive in a post-Christian context that resembles that of the exiled Jews in the Persian Empire.

Thank you for this wonderful introduction to Esther.
I am troubled that you did not mention, for me at least, the most unexplained statement from her in the whole story.
Perhaps this holds the key to it all.

??? Be cautious of listening to this person. Read your own bible and pray the holy spirit to lead you. Feels like she may have female authority issues or something. Idk

There never was a queen Esther, it's a completely fictional story.
