Had a great time having the mighty Ola Strandberg as a guest for Coffee with Ola!
Ola Englund Great video as always ola 👍 has emppu responsed your invitation for coffee with ola?
Been waiting for this interview since Ola Strandberg builds my ultimate favorite guitar
I remember seeing the original Strandberg guitars on ProjectGuitar way back when . . . and even my tools (sje-tools) started out from that forum. The days when forums were of use and not full of crap like these days :)
Here is a link to some of his early works - www.projectguitar.com/forums/topic/42643-three-more-strandberg-ergonomic-guitars/?page=3
(just reached 15mins in when he mentions it!)
FInished watching now and from my perspective, it was really interesting to hear the background story to the posts I used to read on the ProjectGuitar forum.
Mike Fortin as next guest, plz
you didn't post the link to the website, just a reminder, great interview
Both own a guitar company
Both are swedish gentlemen
Both are Ola
Both are humans
Both are awesome!
thank you captain obvious
Olaception
But Ola speaks English better than Ola.
Two Olas one cup
You just put a image in my head that I can't unimagin. 🙄
Gross guys
Olalololola!
That should be a finish option!
it just needs cheezy porn music in the backround instead of elevator music
"I don't know many guitar builders"
*Gets one of the most influential builders in the last decade *
in all fairness, he's the one in sweden lol probably found out he lived up the road while borrowing the proverbial cuppa sugar #homeowner
OLA SOLARBERG!🤘
sOLArberg
COFFEE WITH OLA with Mikael Akerfeldt or Frederik Akkensson please
Either would be fantastic but Fredrik is a very soft spoken guy. My vote is MIKAEL!!!
In SWEDISH with subtitles please! :D Would be cool!
Oh yes please!
WELL GET THE AMOTT BROTHERS THEN FUCK YEAH BUDDY
IN SWENGLISH!
I truly love European people who hasn't bought on the US business model babble. ♟
They still talk like human beings.
Steinberger were the actual pioneers of the headless guitar, yet the ergonomics of the Strandberg is unparalleled & the benchmark for so many.
@Brad Młodystach steinberger production started in 79
Fanned frets were invented by Ralph Novax and we're first seen on Conklin guitars. Steinberger pioneered the headless tremolo. The ergonomic shape was first seen in the Ovation Breadwinner and the Klien guitar.
"The" headless guitar is the steinberger lets face it, strandberg are amazing in their own right but lets not pretend there was not an original headless guitar which is what this scandi love in seems to do.
Not to mention they created the TransTrem.
@@BrunodeSouzaLinoyet none of those do it as good as strandberg 😉
Coffee with Guthrie Govan please!
Two Swedes talk to each other in English. (This is for us UA-cam 😂)
It’s even funnier when you realise that they are mispronouncing their names to fit the English speaker’s ears.
Something I love about Ola Strandberg is that he KNOWS he has done amazing things for the guitar scene. He's not conceited or self-absorbed, but he doesn't do those bashful "oh stop it" responses. He's aware that he's done great work, and he seems so driven to keep doing so. Can't wait for my Strandberg.
I just got mine today. A boden 6 multiscale. Lovely guitar! Hope you're enjoying yours :)
I think part of it has to do with his "open source" design policy. He has laid incredible ground work with his ideas and continues to innovate but he also gives access (with permission) to his designs for others to improve upon as long as any tweaks are made available as well. ❤ he knows his work allows others to grow and evolve his concepts - moving guitar design forward at a faster rate. This man is a world treasure and he has every right and reason to be proud and confident in his work.
Just got my first Strandberg on the used market and I'm quite astonished at how much I like it. It's so comfortable to sit and practice on. The fanned frets felt a bit weird for about an hour and now I don't notice it at all.
I lived in Norway for 6 years, and I’m still impressed with Scandinavians’ mastery of the English language... among others.
Canadians are similar when it comes to French. There are parts of their country they consider impossible for others to blend with society if they don’t speak French, so it’s a require language in school. I think we should do that for Spanish. It’s going to be quite prominent in Texas some day.
@@thisguy2973 lol Texas is Mexico and we start speaking Spanish early here
@@summeronio9751 you’re talking to a Texan lol
@@thisguy2973 me too..born and raised
@@summeronio9751 I speak Spanish as much as I write in cursive, but I get what you’re saying. Everyone under five should probably learn it because the state is very heavily populated by Hispanics, so it’ll be useful in the future.
Hope you have power in these blackouts.
Oh this is so interesting, thank you Ola for the great contents! What about a "Coffee with Ola" Andy LaRoque edition? It would be awesome, Andy is a phenomenal guitar player (King Diamond, guest in Death and At the Gates,...), a great producer and... "OLA-CLAP"... he lives in Sweden, just perfect!
Cheers from Switzerland!
This. Would. Rule. make it happen Ola!
Very good idea indeed. Cheers from Switzerland as well!
Andy is one of my favorite players, a beast in melody and shred, he deserves much more recognition.
Thanks, that's an amazing idea 😉👍
Does he still live in Denmark? Not far at all for a Swede. ;)
Damn. I'm literally ONE day away from ordering my first Strandberg. Clicked REALLY fast.
If you can, just do it. I've got a 6 and a 7 and they're the best instruments I've ever played.
Pretty much same here. Still a little on the fence about buying one of these because of possible limitations with there tremolo system. Other than that though, these things are dope
You won't regret it. I have a USA custom shop 6 and I have zero interest in playing anything that isn't Strandberg now. Patiently awaiting the production neck throughs to come out later this year, then I'm liquidating my other axes to fund lol.
Only thing I don’t like is:
• The short scale for the lowest string on the 6 string (25,5).
• The small guitar body.
@@hibernative The small body I get, but I guess it's kind of a necessity for the weight and functional cutaways. But since when is 25.5 a short scale length for a 6 string? The only ones longer I know of are baritones.
"The American Dream in Sweden!"
That is one of the greatest lines ever uttered in the history of the universe. Fantastic interview btw
Strandberg is the first person I've seen actually drinking coffee on this segment lol
Another cool episode, I f*cking love these series Ola, and its very cool that you`re honest and not trying to over-compliment your guests, very cool that you said you were sceptical about the guitars without feeling discomfort.
Thanks to this guy, my 30 year old Steinberger GM4T is finally cool!
Lol hi just checking out my member tag
looking good!
,,Yes.''
Ola Englund, 2019.
"Yeah-Yeah-Yeah"
Ola Strandberg, 2019
Sarah Longfield is the first guitarist I saw with a Strandberg.
I was apprehensive about Strandberg at first, but it did everything I ever wanted a guitar to do and I can relate to Ola being a professional in IT. I bought a Prog 7 for the new year, now few months later I’m getting an Original 8. Those are phenomenal, I’m struggling to reason with myself to pick any other guitar up. Strandbergs are so easy, so light, so playable, they have such low noise floor (Fishman ones at least), so resonant, they sound soo good in studio. God damn, there’s so many other great guitar brands, but, especially for the price, I just can’t buy any other guitar 🤯
@@inspiringminds7284 yes its great :)
Ola the guitar builder and Ola the guitar builder talking about olas guitars
👍👍 Yes!! My favourite segment of your channel Ola!! Very educational.. Keep it coming 🤘🤘
Vilken fantastiskt underhållande timme jag fick! (jag var tvungen att kolla om vissa grejer)
Cheers! :)
omg my two favourite Olas
Underbart! Så jäkla kul att lyssna på två riktiga nördar (i positiv bemärkelse) som har ett så genuint intresse. Strandberg bygger så sjukt bra gitarrer. En vacker dag så ska jag köpa en, eller två eller tre.
"You have to be confident that you have the best product, then everyone else kinda does marketing for you." Take that, Gibson
Yet another smart guest with good insights, it's awesome to hear stories like this from the people you wouldn't necessarily think about shaping the guitar community. Keep 'em coming Ola... and Ola.
What a rational, analytic and super intelligent guitar builder he seems to be !
My god, I would love a Coffee with Ola - Perry Ormsby
We need this. Perry is a.cool dude
SunnyD88 it would be killer but he lives in the A hole of the A hole country
27:37 is a genius way of advertising how good the balance on these is. Didn’t even know you could do that, that’s so badass
Brilliant surprise when I saw this today. I love the strandberg concept, and the look. That poplar burly is stunning. Thanks again Ola(s) for a really interestring interview.
Found&watched this while my baby son and me played our Boden 8. Exquisite!
ola personally answered a technical support issue from me about a recent purchase and I was blown away. He didn't let up until we solved the problem and I can't wait to purchase my next instrument from him.
This was great....wasn't expecting this....nice work Ola....Ola....
Super interresting one, Ola. Thank you so much!
I love my Strandberg guitar, and Ola S. seems like such a nice, down to earth guy. Very good interview, Ola E!
Hi Ola, I love your MOTU album! Makes me feel like a master of my own universe when I listen to the album at work.
This was awesome Ola's!!! What a legend to get on for your first builder!
Love this segment of your channel ....super interesting guests ..
Another great video, thanks Ola and Ola!!
I’m so glad I got my hands on a Korean Boden OS. It’s one of the best instruments I’ve ever played ❤️
I hope these guitars stick around forever, cause I’m probably gonna be playing them forever.
So. Now the perfect compromise would be a true-temperament-multiscale, evertune and EndurNeck equipped baritone "Solar Strandberg". Have you considered negotiating a good licensing-deal to put the EndurNeck on some of your Solar guitars?
Very cool this Strandberg guitars! One day I'll have one of these! :-)
Just got one 4 years later after seeing this video years ago and first hearing about them, they are incredible guitars!
One of the best coffe with episode. I enjoy the others, too, but Ola Strandberg is super cool.
Fusion is on it’s way... The adventure begins. Thanks, Olas in stereo! Cheers, Daniel
I find those Strandbergs really intriguing. I'll have to see if I can find one in a store out here and try it out. He seems like a real genius of a guitar designer. A great story too. Awesome interview, Ola.
Best 1 by far. Wish it was longer. Ola Strandberg is interesting.
My white pearl metal 7 is the most awesome guitar I've ever played. ill be having it for life .
Subscribed! I just bought a used Strandberg Prog 7 on Reverb last week. I can't wait until it arrives!
🍻 true innovation on an instrument with outstanding results. Most comfortable guitar I’ve ever played.
Love how this series sometimes turn into a business podcast!
coffee with David Davidson from Revocation, super genuine guy
Oh hell yeah! Probably my favourite guitarist.
Great show Ola👍 I must admit that my interest is peaked a little about getting a guitar like this
I love my Strandberg. Best guitar I’ve ever bought.
Great interview. Great guitars.
I’ve always wondered about these, thanks
That is one sweet looking guitar and I'm intrigued by all of the ergonomic enhancements on it.
The AAL song Ola couldn't recall was New Eden. I think. It was referenced by Javier during a rig rundown.
will you interview yourself for solar guitars?
haha it would be like an @rudyayoub video!
Brian B > another ola vs ola! i wonder which one of him will burp the most?
@@mgtow-extraits Burp in an infinite loop until the world implodes!
First comment?? Loving this Coffee With Ola!
Th3 coolest guitar player in the world Ola Englund and the best guitar Makeŕ .
King Ola strikes again with another great interview
congratulations to the OLAs for being amazing
Fortunately own a strandberg boden 6! Such a great guitar. Love it!
Nice way to start the day!🤘
Yup, going to order one some day
Awesome series + Nice fusion techniques.
Very interesting conversation and guitars. 👍
"Hola, my name's Ola and welcome to coffee with Ola, today my guest is Ola!" =) (Great interview and great guitar, thanks)
Great episode, thanks Olas!
tHANK YOU FOR REVEALING ANOTHER ASPECT OF Ola.
THOUGHTFUL ,GOOD LISTENER, GENEROUS AND SMART.
I did miss the fart /burping humour and the bleeped profanity sounds , but I
managed to survive . Ola Strandberg was a very interesting person for me to listen to.
More! must have MORE! Do it again.
Great interview
Ola on Ola oh my
what a show 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Ery time you say “I must say” all I can think of is Ed Grimley 😬🤘🏽 great interview Sir I must say🤘🏽😬
"Swedish steel, mothablankas" i liked that line too
Great interview. Loved it. I would like to meet Ola Strandberg in person. He looks like a ver focused, practical and logical person. I'm industrial designer and think the concept of guitar he created is in the perfect way of functionalty, ergonomics and aesthetics (the Holy Grail of Good Design). Didn't know had designed and fabricated the mechanical parts of the guitar himself, that's a tremendous bonnus of his genius!
I don't have enough money, and suck playing well guitar, but I'ld love to have and Strandberg guitar. May be someday...
Just watched whole thing. Very interesting backstory of the company!
I have been curious about these for years!
I had to reread the message several times to understand that it do NOT say;
"Sorry for audio shit"
Rock on Ola! 🤘
That looks beautiful.
So much Ola!
That poplar burl true temperament instrument is absolutely insane. Kudos to Ola Strandberg and his guitars. I haven't tried one but I'm so curious to, i may have to bite the bullet and just get one.
Feel proud to own one :-). Saw it in Beyond Creation clips and fell in love in headless guitars.
I’ve had 3 Strandbergs, a 6, 7 & 8 string. Great guitars! They all have happy new owners now 👍
This man has traveled back from the future and brought his axe 🎸 carved from the distant star system of alpha Centauri ..... GAME CHANGER
Man I wanna get invited. I can't play, but I sure do know how to drink coffee!
Coffee with Anders & Fredrik of True Temperament Frets would be cool too, don't you think?!
(Comment number what.... 51?.....52?.... see, I learn to control the stalking....)
Maybe Coffee with you?:D
Jen Majura they are interesting but can they prattle on for like 20mins about weird frets?
This video made me want a Strandberg. Very interesting design. Wish I could try one out but I don't think there are any near me except possibly in private collections. Still, I just might have to take the chance.
Coffee With Guthrie Govan
His guitars are beautiful.
He’s a Legendary period
Fantastic interview with an Amazing Innovator! Strandberg Guitars IS The Future!! All those specific details exist to improve the playing/performing experience. The Modern Components & Fret Design, Innovative Body & Neck Ergonomics, Beautiful Top-Cap & Neck tone woods, Excellent color contrasts, makes for a Kick-Ass looking, Modern Instrument! awsome interview
Cymbalen på "Swedish steel"!! 😂😂 Helt underbart program!! Nu MÅSTE jag köpa en Strandberg ... 😃🙏🏼
Strandberg-Guy always started to talk when Ola started playing a second before. Damn man.
Ola and Ola that was great. I have a Strandberg, it's the best guitar !
Holy moly!!!!
