In League of Legends, not every champion is meant to put on a show.
In the game’s early days, AD carries in particular were used to playing safely. Positioning carefully in team fights. Waiting for the right chance to carry the day.
But one champion broke the mould. He gave ADCs the spotlight -- and let them pick their own moment to shine.
He inspired the game’s player-base.
And throughout the game’s history, pro players saw something in Ezreal, the Prodigal Explorer, too. It was the opportunity to grasp perfection, and wield it against their opponents.
These mechanical gods craved the skill expression Ezreal enabled. And the champion fit them like a glove.
This is the Story of Ezreal.

I can't believe you didn't mention Bebe, the guy who got a World Champ skin with Ezreal and invented the original Blue Ezreal build with the jungle item, tear and frozen gauntlet.

But it wasn't he who invented the blue build. It was Waiting7777 who invented. But bebe deserved for the skin.

@@dinho178 I would like to see this waiting777, I only see one post on reddit about it and it seems like a troll because waiting is only gold/plat ranked. Plus the blue build i remember used spirit of the wraith(a season 3 item) and frozen gauntlet(not in the reddit picture I saw).

Ezreal is the champ that made me feel like I could carry anyone. Learned from Deft, Bang, DL and others to understand Ezreal's whole kit and playstyle. Plus whenever I sniped people across the map using Ez's ult, I felt like a god LOL.

@@ohno4435 Another thing to note is that in enemies perspective they can't see the windup for Sun Strike while with Swain's W everyone can see the windup

If you want to learn League. Learn Ezreal. The amount of skillshot, positioning, and map awareness is really really valuable tools in Ezreal.
unfortunately people just end up playing him 2 screens back and never learning how to lane
I dont think he is the best one to start out with. I tried to and I hated it (mostly bc I was really bad and didnt hit my skillshots, but I was bad, and probably still am)
He's too safe to actually learn league. If you learn ez first when you switch to ashe/varus you'll go 0/10 and not understand why.

Disagree. E is like training wheels for adc. First it's probably ideal to use a less mobile ADC like Jhin or MF, find out what bad positioning that'll get you caught out is, try and minimize it, then use champs like Ezreal and Xayah. Imagine you go from playing with Ezreal to most ADCs, the positional understanding from ezreal just leads to a bunch of deaths now that your crutch on a low cooldown is gone
Ezreal was the first champ and the first main I loved playing when I started playing League, simple abilities, but challenging executions to make your impact.

favourite league play ive seen was stixxays 1v5 penta with ezreal, the ending,the teams reactions actually made me want to start playing ezreal at that point, just so perfect

First time I played Ezreal (S3), as a young league scrub, absolutely hated it, and thought the champion was useless. Years later, before his rework, tried him out again and fell in love, and he's been my main ever since.
I remember when Ezreal came out. There were some tips on his splash art about how you can play as him or how to play against him.
One of the tip was: Ezreal can be played as a dps, healer or tank

Runeglaive meta was a nightmare when Ezreal was played mid and constantly given the blue buff you will see trueshot barrage all over the map every 30 secs XD.
There is a saying I heard somewhere: If you are good at Zed you are just good at Zed but if you are good at Ezreal and TF you are good at League of Legends.
Tf is all about macro. Sometime playing TF make you feel like playing a different strategy game, where you have to be 2 steps ahead of your oppornent. Ezreal play style doesnt have that feel though.

A video about Ezreal that does not even once mention the Ezreal god itself TPA Bebe. Ask any of the pros who went against TPA in season 2 and they will tell you how crazy Bebe was with his Ezreal. He styled with Ezreal like Deft, was consistent like Bang and carried his team in teamfights like Teddy to win them Worlds season 2. The greatest to ever touch the champion.
A pro in season 2 is like plat 3 nowadays. Just sit down dude. Nice story ya wrote there though.

But I get what you're saying. I agree with it as well. It's completely hypothetical, but I fully believe an Academy team from S11 can 100% wipe the table with the best teams from earlier seasons.
he's one of the best designed champions, along with jhin.
though ezreal managed to do well most of the seasons, and jhin tend to fall of after an item nerfs or other adc buffs

It’s sad that Teddy didn’t get to play at all this worlds. I hope he gets to play more matches next year whether it be for T1 or another team. Teddy being mentioned here just proves how great of a player he is and T1 should not ignore that.
If you've seen T1 played in this season 2021, you should have known without Ezreal, Teddy is no longer a badass AD carry that he used to be. The problem is because of his limited champion range and his micro skills. In fact, T1 has given him the chance to prove that he is better than Gumayusi in draft games but you can see the rest.
@@MinhMorningstar excuse me but we don’t accept hate on teddy here or towards any other player at all. Why don’t people just be quiet when they don’t have anything nice to say. I didn’t even mention gumayushi but here you are comparing them. They’re both great adc’s and they both have weaknesses. All I’m saying is Teddy should be in a team who would let him play and trust him even when he’s having bad days. Not everyone who sits in the starting lineup have performed well all the time. Gumayushi too has had his bad days even when he’s playing aphelios (his most famous champion) but you don’t see me roasting gumayushi about it right?. Damn I was just glad that teddy was mentioned in this video but here you are ruining my vibes.

@@MinhMorningstar I would love to see Teddy's Ezreal at the big stage again but I have to agree with your point. And while I would argue Teddy's macro is better because of his immense experience (Which of course includes his mastery in Ezreal), Gumayusi is mechanically better along with the champions strong in the current meta such as Aphelios.

If you play safe, Ezreal was near unkillable in lane. Back in season 3 people in my region even called him EZ, because of how quick you can learn his kit.

When most players e in to the whole enemy team for damage, they’re trolling and get insta popped for it. When Uzi does it he’s actually initiating and winning the team fight and knocking teams out of playoffs

Ezreal was my first adc main back in season 4. I got hooked immediately.
I started playing again after a 5 year break...and have been mainly playing Ez in the bot lane. Playing Ezreal is a great way to help your ability in hitting skill shots. And is generally fun too.

As an Ezreal OTP since season 4 (started playing in Season 3) and still have fun playing him given the amount of versatility his kit gives him. Ngl, when Essence Flux got changed I didn't like it at first. However now I think it makes way more healthy for his kit.
Bebe, Uzi, Viper, Deft, PraY, Teddy, and Bang are all Ezreal gods.
You didn't mention Piglet, but as an SKT (now rebranded as T1) Fan, I appreciate the highlights that you feature him. Great video.

Ezreal is the only champ that make me feel i can carry the game that almost lose.
I remember one pro once said: "A good ADC player can be shown by how they play Ezreal".
Please do a Story of Bang and Wolf. They needed the respect and glory they hardly earned.
Neither of them make top 5 of all time for their roles plenty of other players that need a video first.

When I first played the game I got my but whooped by a really good Ez, I fell in love w his abilities and play style immediately and now he’s my favorite champ to use

Tbf, I think it was more about mentioning the pioneers of Ezreal, who were there very early-on and bringing their own flare to the champ, not just players who were good (plus UZI is known far more for his Vayne). Though Bebe weirdly wasn't mentioned.
The only reason Teddy was mentioned is because he is a player who is known exclusively, even now, for his Ezreal.

He just wasn't in it IN BOT LANE. Jungle Ez was one of the mainstays of the tournament. This little fucking rat champ weasels his way into every meta because of all the things described about him. Despite what they said, there is rarely a time EVER where ezreal is just out of the meta.
Omg I almost forgot about that, as completely ridiculous as it was, I actually miss that meta (Ezreal-wise). That was hilarious.

I feel that Ezreal, for a long time after his release, was somewhat ignored. ADCs back then had the same build path - Infinity Edge, Phantom Dancer, Blood Thirster, Last Whisper. Basically it was crit based. None of Ezreal's skills works with crit, so the cookiecutter build just didn't work with him. It took a very long time for the players to learn how to play with a crit-less sheen build.
teddy should've been mentioned a lot more here
I think the video was more targeted at the pioneers of Ezreal during earlier years. Teddy is of course, an incredible Ezreal, but he likely didn't get mentioned as much because he didn't necessarily transform or influence something huge about the champ, he is more - carrying the torch of high level Ezreal play in the current era, where things about the game are a lot more established and figured out.
