Those guys have been going since the late 90's - early naughties. They have never.... I mean NEVER, been given the recognition for their contributions to the history of uk hip hop. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That man shocking you is .Chester P the corner stone of UK hip hop ,to many tracks to mention ,but try Chester P Fire in the Streets .Jehst in the same tier maybe try his track .High Plains Anthem ,great reaction , TASKFORCE is ,was Chester p and his Bro Farma G , new sub here.
Woah, thanks for all that info Shaun I really appreciate that. Chester elevated this to another level, nice to put a name to the face, well… voice. Thank you Shaun I’ll definitely check those tracks out. Thank you again for you comment Shaun, it really meant a lot to me, have a great day! 😁
So glad you got around to Task Force, I had a feeling you'd appreciate them. I find it a little sad how much UK Rap owes to guys like Task Force and Jehst and yet how few people today know who they are. For British guys who are my generation and into Hip-Hop both Task Force and Jehst would probably be in 95% of our top 5 so I always enjoy it when new people discover them too. Considering this track is almost 25 years old now (god I feel old) it is still incredible. Task Force have a huge back catalogue and every time I make suggestions I probably suggest different things as they have so much music and so much of it is great. I think I originally commented under your first Rhyme Asylum reaction, or maybe Split Prophets (probably both) so I will refer to whatever I said there. I can't recall off the top of my head if Task Force did other stuff specifically like this, on space and physics, but this kind of stuff was definitely their thing. I mean, they rapped about everything from the Streets and living on the Estate, to Masquerade Balls for Butterflies, lol. They definitely had a fondness toward references that, these days, I guess would be called "geek culture" - stuff like Tolkien, esoteric stuff and obscure Comic book references are quite frequent in their stuff. Even the name "Chester P" comes from the character "Chester P Hackenbush" from the classic "Brainstorm" comic books. I saw people directing you towards Chester's "Fire in the Streets", which is great, but I would probably suggest you check out his 2014 freestyle on Itch FM called the "Sacred Number 9" (If you just look for "Chester P ItchFM" I think it'll be the first thing that comes up in ItchFM's UA-cam channel). In my view it is much better than his Fire in the Streets and probably more in your lane if you liked Cosmic Gypsies so much.
Woah, thanks for all of that Matthew! I’m glad I got around to them too…sorry it took me a while. These guys did feel more old school than most others I’ve heard but it still holds up really well, I think it’s probably because nerd culture has grown massively, so their references are even more prevalent in today’s society. Wait wait wait 25 YEARS OLD?!? Damn, this track is about as old as me..maybe older lol. Sorry, that probably doesn’t help you feeling old haha. A huge back catalogue only means more for me to get my teeth stuck into, I’m here for all of it. I forget which too, I’ll have to filter your comments out and refresh myself, but you’ve been waiting patiently for a while so I appreciate it! I guess it doesn’t matter either way, they could rap about anything and I’m sure they’d find a way to make it work, and likely just said it sounds like that’s exactly what they do. Okay cool, I’ll trust your judgment and do that one first and then the other one later on, thanks for recommending it to me! Thanks again for that Matthew, like I said, I really appreciate you taking the time to type it out and drop some knowledge on me. Hope you have a great weekend! 😁
@@paddy_wax always look forward to reactors discovering Chester P. Real hip hop head know and respect the king . Check out The Authorship , Chestmonster , many thanks
Just another old UK hip hop head popping in to say this is a great comment, and so true. When @Inickedurnan941 said in the vid "I would have loved this when I was 14 or 15" I laughed out loud because that was me, just before I jumped on my skateboard. Now if I try a kickflip I need to sit down for a week.
Amazing to see your reaction to this classic. Nothing winds me up more than hip hop being wirtten off as dumbed down gangster shit, and this is a classic example. First rapper is Chester P. Him and Farma G are brothers and are Task Force. Then Braintax used to run the label, Low Life (thats another story). But my all time favourite is the last guy, Jehst. You need to check his earlier stuff, pure art and youre so lucky to have yet to discover it! Please do more UK hip hop and if you like this poetic style then you cant go wrong with Jam Baxter, another absolute wordsmith!! Cool channel, subbed!
Hey paddy, thank you so much mate, that means a lot to me. I agree, these guys take the common perception of rap/rappers being “dumb” and turns it on its head. Some are, for sure, but there’s a lot more who are far more intelligent than they seem, and these guys definitely fall into the latter bracket. Thanks for all the info, I’ve heard quite a lot about Jehst from other comments so I’ll be sure to check out more of his work. Thank you again Paddy, like I said I really appreciate it. I’m glad this video got some love, because with older tracks you run the risk of no one watching, and then my reasoning for filming a reaction etc., is completely diminished… and I really want to explore more from them. So thanks to you and everyone else for taking the time to check it out, hope you have a great rest of the weekend! 😁
I highly recommend Kashmere if you like that sort of thing. Also checkout Deltron 3030 is whole album based on space etc. And last but not least GZA & The Spark, a track about science and the Big Bang. He has also a degree in physics I believe and has lectured at Harvard.
Loved that mate!🔥🔥🔥 Jehst was the last rapper. Check out ALL of his stuff. Check out jehst - apocalypse when? City of industries, England and many others.
Thank you brother, I really appreciate it. Nice to see this one get a lot of love. I’ve been too distracted from my rap reactions lately. Today I’m going to try and record like a mf and mix some more rap back in. Thank you for dropping some recommendations! Thank you again, have a great weekend mate 😁
Hey Guy, yeah I want to start doing that for the reactions too, likely stick it in the description. I’ll find the URL and post it as a reply for this one though. Thanks for the feedback mate!
This is some of the best Boombap I've heard in a long time. I'm very impressed 💪🏽 You're right you outta do some non-rap reactions. There's this Filipino dude named Marcelito you should check out. 👍🏽
Looool, thanks Guy, no idea who that is…doubt he’ll get me much attention but why not? 🤷♂️ Agreed this was a major boom bap beat. Interesting to hear UK artists/MCs on it as I’m so used to the New York sound, but they definitely brought it. The channel has done quite well in finding guys who rap about different stuff, I don’t think I’ve heard anybody else come with the nerdy bars these guys did. Thanks as always Guy, sorry it took me so long to get back to you…hope you had a great weekend! 😁
Chester P - Braintax - Farma G - Jehst. I missed this era so I don't know huge amounts of their backcatalogue. Chester P & Farma G are TaskForce. Chester in particular is probably the best writer/rapper on the planet. Jehst is amazing. Braintax? Well, people don't talk about him anymore lol. I agree with someone else on here, check Chester P - Fire In The Streets. Leaf Dog - The Legacy features TaskForce & Jehst as well as about 15 other rappers. Be good to see who you do/don't like out of them.
Thanks Steve, I agree mate they’re both really talented. Definitely some of the most unique guys I’ve heard. Woah what happened with Braintax, any drama or just a loss of interest? I’ll definitely check those out, thanks Steve! Btw sorry for the late reply.
@@inickedurnan941 Braintax took all the money the label made, fucked off to Australia, and put all the artists music back up to buy. Task Force, Jehst, Skinnyman (possibly more?) didn't see any money from it. That's what I've read anyway.

Chester P on the 1st verse was sick but man Jehst on that last verse was just ridiculous with his wordplay

ahhh to find jehst for the first time with this verse of his. truly a magical moment
One of the greatest UKHH tracks ever. A timeless classic!!!

You really need to check out Chester's whole legacy
Your reaction is exactly the same as my reaction when i first heard this interstellar masterpiece 😁
Chester P tracks 2 for 2 now both mindblown .thats his lyrical genius. Gotta do - The Authorship, the deepness , fire in the streets : )
Chester P, Jehst and Farma G are on another level.

Chester P Hackenbush, Farma G, Jehst, Braintax - Straight up pioneers of UK HH and listened to them for nearly 20 years
I highly recommend Kashmere if you like that sort of thing. Also checkout Deltron 3030 is whole album based on space etc.

Kashmere is absolutely brilliant. And Deltron 3030 is a classic masterpiece.
Chester P is frikkin awesome. Highly reccomend checking out the authorship by him, the greatest story never told and fire in the streets . ❤
They are all good rappers. But Jehst is on another level 100%. He has some classic UK rap albums.

This is why British rap is better they talk about different things compare to American
