Extremely impressive pianism... What a beautiful interpretation of this massive piece. I found the elasticisity of the melodic line to be particularly wonderful. There never seemed to be an abrupt ending to a phrase...the melody, as melodies should be, was always seamless. This can only be accomplished when technique is a secondary concern. Bravo...
Kurt I think you realized the intent of the youthfulness, dynamism and romanticism of Johannes' genius. I would urge you to keep this piece in your repertory and would be interested to hear it again and again. You paint with a broad pallet and stretch and expand the rhythm with musical sense and heartfelt sensitivity. Your heart is in it certainly. I came here after searching Bach/Petri "Sheep may safely graze" which I thoroughly enjoyed your profound performance on you tube. My teacher met Petri, late 1920s I believe, as his teacher was great friends with the Dutch master.

Michael, a really nice comment, thank you. But it was not me who played the piano so beautifully, it was Oliver. I was just in charge of the film.
