April 2019, I purchased a Genesis G70. I currently have over 37,000 miles on it and no problems. I drive over 100 MPH a couple of times a day. (I'm a commuter, 100 miles round trip to work and back home). This is my daily driver. If anyone has not test driven a Kia Stinger or Genesis G70, do yourself a favor, test drive them. I don't believe in forever payments (leasing), but I understand sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
You know with a GDI engine going over 100 is good for the engine--it lets it blow out any gunk.I drive only about 3 to 5 k a year and once every 2 weeks I goto a toll road near me and go triple digit speeds--car runs like a top,I also am lucky and have 94 octane gas near me--so it has always had 93 or 94 octane since i bought it new.car is fantastic for the price.I even hit the top speed a few weeks ago on a closed road--it actually dipped rt over 170 and then settled at 165--I kept it at that for about 2 miles before the road we were on was opening back up to the public.I did this with a buddy with a 2021 392 charger and had him by 4 car lengths and he said either his gearing or the drag from the wind would only allow him to hit 165 and then he said the car sat in top gear at 161 and then crawled briefly back up to 165--we had heavy crosswinds--Stinger was stronger after 150 but I doubt the turbos could stay on long at full boost going 167 for more then a few minutes before overheating. The 3.3 by itself could keep up about 160 it semmed.
Kia give free oil change for life in Canada. They haven’t changed me a thing 🤷♂️ this thing faster than most BMW and Benz on the road. Even some of the AMG and M cars. Even faster than those SRT dodge and charger 🤦♂️ oh Korea 😁
I drove an SRT before a Stinger and thought I had ruined my experience cause I knew I was not getting a dodge.I had also driven a honda Type R--fast--but not like a charger.I drove a Stinger and bought it the next day--it is just as fast as the lower end american muscle cars and can beat most of them in most situations cause RWD cars are unable to get power down unless it is smoothe warm/hot pavement.I have AWD and could probably still do a sub 5 sec 60 in rain--the Stinger computer and AWD are fantastic and so is the car.
I have a GT1 also, I've had mine for a year also as a daily driver. It is my first choice for my roadtrips. You are 100% correct about the paint. I should have gotten PPF. The ceramic silver with red interior stands out too. Kia did a great job, inexpensive and fun.
Use Nu finish then a few days later use a ceramic spray like Turtle was--it will shield the paint for 6 months to a year.I did mine 2 months ago and it still noticeably repels water. You can tell when it wears off cause water will not bead.BTW Nu finish and ceramic sprays are very easy to use and require no elbow grease.

Just got a 2021 GT2. Extremely happy with this vehicle. It has the power shifter and power lift gate also that you mentioned in this video. The 2021 is very similar to 2019/2020. The next generation Stinger will likely be 2022 or 2023. The Stinger in Korea already has a lot of new stuff, namely the new 10.25" touch display and UVO app functions (remote climate control, etc.). The new K5 and Telluride already have these in the US, but Stinger does not! If I had to nitpick my Stinger I would just say: - The default "Kia" badges on the wheels and front hood aren't great. Thankfully the rear just says Stinger, GT, and AWD. This can be changed, as you've done. - I wish the back of the front seats wasn't plastic. - Back seat leg room is very limited but not a big deal most of the time. I am tall so I appreciate the generous legroom for the front seats. - It did not come with the rubber all-weather floor mats. I had to ask the dealer for them and they were $140 for the official ones that say Stinger on them. Everything else is AWESOME Oh yeah, the dealer specifically told me it does NOT need Premium gas. I do it anyway.
If you use normal gas you will lose 10% HP and risk carbon buildup. The KIA dealer I went to has their master tech that went to korea strictly to learn about the stinger. Also it needs to be driven on the HWY once a month to blow out deposits--you do that and oil changes and the car will last a very long time.It also does not need catch cans. There are 2 people with 2018 stingers--he showed me the maintenece--tires brakes and oil changes--one person has 112k already on theirs and nothing but basic maintenence and one spark plug fouled at 90k and they replaced ALL of them under warranty.
Still have mine after a year and a few months. Added a few cosmetic and performance mods, but if I decide I don't want to add anything else, it's good enough for me! The refresh that was revealed today has some nice cosmetic changes and a slight hp bump for the TT V6, a bigger jump for the 4 cyl version. Ron, you should report your thoughts on that one in your next video. :)

All cars chip at least at that price point they do. My 2006 G35 coupe had chips. I have a 2018 GT2 with the power tailgate and a 2019 GT1, the thing with power tailgate is it doesn't open as much as the one without it so I hit my head on the tailgate. I also don't like the shifter in the GT2 . The only way to get it into manual mode is to use the paddles and it keeps going back into drive on it's own (unless you are in sport mode). I think talking about built quality when a car has barely driven 10k miles is a little too soon (to me at least). Let me know how it holds up after 100k miles?!
I've had many new cars 94 Ford Probe GT (grad college first new car), 2003 Infiniti G35 sedan, 2004 Honda Odyssey (wife's), 2006 Infiniti G35 coupe (sedan was auto so wife could drive now that we had minivan I got a 6MT), 2010 Ford Escape (wife), 2019 Kia Stinger, 2018 Kia Stinger (won it in a draw at the dealer where I bought the 2019). Point? You seem to think not having a check engine light is a big deal, but in all of these cars and every car anyone in my family has owned not one single check engine light in the first 10K miles. You should never have any issues like that in a brand new car. That would be ridiculous
Unfortunately, I bought my 2021 GT1 at the worst time and overpaid a bit. I kept the mileage low and fortunately, it held most of its value. I was able to trade for something cool a few weeks ago. I do miss a few things about it though.
@elbowbain8988 I felt the overwhelming call of the B58 and wanted to get back into a particular BMW. I had an M440i before the Stinger and when I saw what the M340i had to offer, at a similar price, I had to do it. The first time I saw a Stinger, was when I pulled off the lot in the M440i. He pulled up and wanted to race, but I had never seen a Stinger before and didn't know I had a real monster myself. I did enjoy the Stinger but I'm right at home in the M340.
I'm considering a 2022 stinger and tossing up on colours - leaning towards the white - reason being hiding stone chips. I'm usually a blue guy, but I'm not sure how hard it would be to keep it looking good with the inevitable chips. Looks like your white hides the chips fairly well until you look really close?
I love your car. I love kia stinger. In my country most popular will be 2.2 diesel, or 2.0 with 4 cilindars-cuz of big taxes and stuped new laws aftter 1.1.2021.
Kia stinger because it is built as a tank, Kia now is almost zero issues when u are driving it. I tested that when i bought the Kia Rio and driving it four five years ... oh man, the best car brand i ever drive when it comes to reliability. My maintenance cost in 5 years driving is only $700 and it includes engine change oil every year!!
Mty friend bought a used 2017 Ghibli S for $30k(holy depreciation) and the interior is way too cheap for the price. The Stinger has way better interior and features.
I’m interested to hear your thoughts on the rear window / visibility. My concerns with that is the only thing holding me back from buying. Test drive made me feel like I had major blind spots.
The camera is one of the best for this car.It is better then the honda i had and that camera was also pretty good.I came from a crosstour which was bad--but the Stinger is limited but I am use to it.BTW I drive athletes around and it is nothing compared to lambos--vettes--ferraris--some of those cars you literall have a slit to see out of and half of those have no camera to help you.The camera also has a warning system and guide bars to help you park.I have a base model GT AWD 3.3TT and the camera seems to have all the features of the GT2 including a radar system that beeps and shows you where an object is on a little digital picture of the car--when you go into reverse--it activates the electronics to help you--it even turns the radio down and the interior lights off so you can see clearly.
I got a 2020 AWD GT with the 3.3TT--36k was the price after rebates--exactly the same as the 4 cylinder.I would nit get the 4--the TT 6 cylinder is as fast as american muscle cars. You drive the TT6 and you will not want the 4 cylinder--in fact you will not want any car but it after experienceing. All I lack is sunroof--electronics--it has everything else. When I say electronics I mean the heads up display--hetaed steering wheel--cause even though mine is a GT--it has cameras--cooled seats--leather seats. In fact to me it still has too many electronics.Mine even has the radar warning where diffrent aspects of the car flash to warn you with a simulated picture of the car.
I considered buying this sane vehicle, color and all but I went to a 2019 Honda accord 2.0 as I was concerned with reliability. I may change my mind although I hear Honda maybe producing an Accord R type in the near future so who knows. It's a beautiful vehicle without a doubt.
I had an AHM Crosstour Type R--if you have the money honda will build it if you call corporate.Luckily the owner of the dealership was already having it made--but his wife wanted the new odyssey.I traded a stage 2 Mitsubishi eclipse and bought the crosstour Type R--I have it on you tube as proof.I just traded it in on a 2020 AWD Stinger GT 3,3TT.I got 19k for it--it was 10 years old in perfect shape and paid 19k for my stinger. The stinger is very reliable and when I mentioned my you tube channel--the dealer gave me a 10 year 100k on ALL of the car.My crosstour was set to run in the silver state classic--but I never made it to it.The stinger is much faster then any Type R Honda makes.
Ranked 3rd behind Honda and toyota. They are holding their value--but it all depends on how you take care of them and mileage.I only put 4 to 8k a year on my cars so they are always worth more--and i only use the dealer for maintenece--which makes a big diffrence on the carfax to see the car maintained.I traded in a 10 year old crosstour type r and got a 2020 AWD Stinger GT 3.3TT for 19k.Car was 43k--Kia gave me 7k in rebates--making the car 36k and my trade i owend--which was a rare type r with 33k--they gave me 19k for it--so i got a 43k car for 19k.Car private sells for 37k and I have had it for 6 months.Go look at german cars if you want to see sickening depreciation--100k plus AMG--BMW X6M are in the 60k range in less then 2 years--that is half the value. In fact An AMG c63 2019 with 14k miles was going for 65k--the sticker on that car was 112k--so almost half priced a year later.2018 stingers with low miles--under 30k are still in the low 30k range--so not that bad at all.All cars depreciate--german--american and british cars are atrocious--way worse then KIA now.
@AJ Kongmanichanh I plan on enjoying it for at least 5 years.I just had a 10 year old Honda Crosstour Type R--a very rare car--and I got 19k for it against the stinger and only paid 34k for it in 2011 when it was a year old.I do not put that many miles on my cars and in 5 years the KIA prob will only have 20k miles and be worth around 20k.I already have 30k in my car account because of how cheap the stinger is and I put 200 a month in just to be frugal--so I literally already have any 50k car already paid for now----for use in the future. In fact the Acura TLS--A spec will be in its 2nd or third year by 2025--and they are putting a 400 HP plus TT V6 in that--so that is my target car and those will be around 50k--so I am all good.

@ I'm an "Alfisti", and I have driven almost every Alfa during the last few decades, from 33 to Giulia. Used or new Alfas of mine, or my friends cars. The longest experience is with 145, 156, MiTo, and the latest is Giulietta 2017. There is only one car manufacturer for me in the whole world, and what kind of fool would I be if my car is not reliable enough!? Don't get me wrong, I generaly love cars and I have respect for everybody, includig KIA, especially with the latest models, and most of all with (Ron's) Stinger. I wouldn't be embarrassed to drive one like that for sure in the world without Alfas. But 110 years of bright history and sport success is very hard to replicate just like that. 110 years of making emotions, character and beauty on wheels - that's Alfa Romeo;-)
It was--but not now since they dropped a 270 HP 4 cylinder in it.I was going to wait for the TT6 Acura but I do not think it will be around until 2023.I got a 2020 AWD stinger GT 3.3TT for 36k--19k after my trade.Plus KIA gave me the full 10 year 100k warranty on the WHOLE car.I know acura and can tell you when they drop that TT6--it will be a sweet ride--problem is the car will prob be 50 to 60k at that point.I mean the 4 cylinders new are approaching 50k and the Stinger is a better car--and way faster.I came from a honda and the KIA interior -buttons--seats--tightness of parts is on par with Honda--which is fine for me.I do not need 20k in exotic leather and electronics that might break--even though with Acura nothing will break. If my stinger stays reliable--which it seems to--then it will be well worth it.

Bro thats that scat pack killer
How did you get this Stinger with the E Logo? Most of them have the Kia Logo. Is it imported?
These KIAs are beautiful
I really want to buy stinger... (from Korea)
Thinking about picking one up in a couple weeks... Do you think a medium sized 50 pound dog can fit in the hatch without the cover?
Unfortunately, I bought my 2021 GT1 at the worst time and overpaid a bit. I kept the mileage low and fortunately, it held most of its value. I was able to trade for something cool a few weeks ago. I do miss a few things about it though.
why did you trade it?
@elbowbain8988 I felt the overwhelming call of the B58 and wanted to get back into a particular BMW. I had an M440i before the Stinger and when I saw what the M340i had to offer, at a similar price, I had to do it. The first time I saw a Stinger, was when I pulled off the lot in the M440i. He pulled up and wanted to race, but I had never seen a Stinger before and didn't know I had a real monster myself. I did enjoy the Stinger but I'm right at home in the M340.
the moment this guy jumped out your self an said it needs a powered tailgate i was like what!?.....why? that will just drive the price up my guy
No car should have issues @ 10 000 miles.. That's why the manufacturer provides warranty.
Thx I plan on getting 2020 gt1
How can I get that excellent emblem
To replace kia emblem?
Tbh RPO, I wouldn’t be using Doug’s opinion as a benchmark for anything lol. If you know, you know. Peace.
You are absolutely right! 100% agree
The “E” badge... tell them it’s an Edsel :)
I smoked a Maserati Q4 in my Fusion yesterday. :)
Ron when your lease is up are you going to consider the Acura TLX Type S?
Nice car♥♥
No tire rotation on GT,1 or 2 unless it’s AWD version???...The tires are offset larger in the rear.
What you think about the K5?
After hearing how great it is for the price, do you think the Stinger was a good choice⁉️
It was the PERFECT choice, good sir!
No doubt. I also have a GT1 RWD with the same Red Leather interior. I am absolutely loving the versatility (power and amenities) of this vehicle.
Catholic Firefighter g70 or g80
Im getting one mark my words 🙏🏿
I love your car. I love kia stinger. In my country most popular will be 2.2 diesel, or 2.0 with 4 cilindars-cuz of big taxes and stuped new laws aftter 1.1.2021.
How did you get the E badge. I'm getting one and would like it to appear like the Korean original
There are several different retailers. Just start googling, but here is one www.thekeea.com/stinger/kia-stinger-emblem-replacement-set/
Wouldn’t that rattle be covered under the 5 year 60,000 mile warranty
Should I get a used Kia Stinger or a used 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia?
Kia stinger because it is built as a tank, Kia now is almost zero issues when u are driving it. I tested that when i bought the Kia Rio and driving it four five years ... oh man, the best car brand i ever drive when it comes to reliability. My maintenance cost in 5 years driving is only $700 and it includes engine change oil every year!!
I was surprised at my first oil change too! But due to other cars I pay 10 bucks more on my car payment lol gusss dealership wins that one
Mty friend bought a used 2017 Ghibli S for $30k(holy depreciation) and the interior is way too cheap for the price. The Stinger has way better interior and features.
Love this car!!
"I don't bang through the gears 'cuz of the way the exhaust sounds."
Oh, dude...where do I start?
How'd you get it with the E badge all around? I haven't been able to find one on the East coast.
Ebay
google
Everything is ok but Alfa Romeo / Maserati and KIA is sky and 🌎😁😎🇮🇹
Anyone have headliner / sunroof sounds. I have the 2022 GT Elite (Canada)
Aren't your tires staggered?
GT2 has the power hatch
had an oil change yet?
nice car!
I own a 2022 kia stinger gt 2
And I love it
Buttons and interior are not going to show any wear and tear on a 1 year old car lol. Love the Stinger though 👌
Can anyone lmk if the base Stinger is just as fun and durable? Or is it only worth it at GT trim?
And gas tank too small , at lest I don’t like that.
And the ghibli.... aweful... way to be the underdog though
With that said !!!
the ghilbi was a disaster
I been really considering getting a stinger. Will it hold it’s value tho?
Devilsfan118x exactly what I was thinking
Never watching this guys videos again. I counted 10 ads for a 15 minute video. That’s completely ridiculous.
I am so glad you got rid of that money pit Alfa Romeo. An expensive Kia will last longer than an expensive FIAT any day of the week. I look forward to seeing your 3 or 4 year review.
The real test will be 100,000 miles.
Wow we talkin about throw away car...😒
10k miles bro? 😂🤣 Review this thing when you break it in.
Ikr lol It better be in great shape after only 10k miles
He reserves the right to review it anytime he wants to. Have you not noticed the hundreds of new vehicle reviews online at any given time? Do you send them all the same stupid comment?
Ikr. It's gonna take a while to get to 100k miles
Giulia Quadrifoglio ITS better than Kia 💪❤️🔥🍀👌
Adam
But ITS not special. Giulia QV ITS a unique car
First... am I first? lol
Take notes, Italian
Nice car, great value for the price, but... Time to get your a$$ in Alfa Romeo or Maserati again, Ron;-)
I just seen a newer Maserati getting towed yesterday. Never seen a Stinger on a tow truck.
@
What a joker! Talking about the reliability to the 50 years old man who drives Alfa Romeos (with all the love and joy!) whole his life:-)
@
I'm an "Alfisti", and I have driven almost every Alfa during the last few decades, from 33 to Giulia.
The 2021 Acura TLX Type S is going to better than the Stinger
:/
