    Some people, used to have four utility pouches on their belt kit.
    Recommend change out your webbing belt, plastic buckle which break very easily.
    My friends and I, changed it out for Roll pin Belt Buckle or Quick Release Metal Strap Buckle.

    • @doitriteak
      @doitriteak  4 роки тому +18

      Oh I know. But that is because of rubbish getting shoved in mags. This is items that can't be shoved in and only help you grip the mags better, creating less adjustment time and thus greater efficiency

      6 mags on the left side, RCK (acceptable) and boxed 5.56mm in the empty right side magazine pouches. We were never issued more than 5 mags at any time, in the early 1990s.

    Hi,
    It's not actually PLCE (Personal Load Carrying Equipment), it's a commercially made version that's a tad suped up. (It wouldn't sell if it were below or on par with the issue item)
    PLCE is modular. The large middle pouches are modelled on PLCE Waterbottle (US: Canteen!) and Utility pouches. The Utility pouch is designed to be optionally fitted to the front in place of the magazine pouches. If you fire the GPMG (US: M240), the magazine pouches are useless. Utility pouches carry link (7.62mm belted amm) well, as well as grenades. When we were first issued PLCE, it became a thing to bin the right side magazine pouches and replace them with a spare Utility pouch.
    Seeing a lot of the comments, when we used the '58 pattern fighting order (CEFO), we had to carry IN it what's needed to support the soldier for 24 hours - PLUS shovel or pickaxe. Meaning also rations and a small wash kit! Clued up soldiers carried a "miniaturised" wash kit. You needed to carry soap and a razor to shave to maintain a safe seal with your respirator (during the Cold War).
    When daysacks began to be carried, the kit dispersal became more like it is today: fighting order containing bullets, bombs, RCK, FAK, 349 radio (if carried), a single ration meal (emergency), brew kit and water, everything else in the daysack. For a time, I had an ALICE Waterbottle pouch on my PLCE CEFO - a great piece of US Army kit!

      I think the Crusader pattern water bottle (canteen) is better than our US canteens because of the large mouth to give easier cleaning while the US canteen was hard to clean. I still have the US canteens but use the Crusader bottles now.

      Our webbing ('58 patt) was usually issued well knackered and the only way to guarantee that it kept together was to stitch it all to the belt. At some time, some blokes gave all the pouches to a rigger/tailor for him to machine sew together - and so began a trend...

    As an active soldier of the british infantry i can say that is not issue but not far off. The buckle system is not the issue system. We have SOP's with our loadout on the Webbing. Left side 2 pouches are magazine as your right hand will be holding your weapon system, next is a 1 litre water bottle and the centre one is rations and cooking. the one on the right of that is either another water bottle or where you would store your IFAK and then the others are grenade pouches but most the time one will have a small coffee flask to keep you going haha. hope that helps you.

    I notest you did not have the bum roll in this you can fit eather your NBC kit trousers jacket boots set up to be put on .or you can have a poncho poncho liner and a bivi rolled up so when you unlock roll it the bivi is first the roll has two hooks and two side straps like on the 58 webbing these attach to the metal loops at the bottom of the back pouches the straps attach to loops on the back side of the front ammo pouches you can then adjust the tension to hold the roll tight to you and the webbing .if there's no loops you can put some large split rings through the molly and attach the hooks to them
