Oh wow a 2.0D Corolla Saloon I have not seen this car on the road for quite a long time now. Never imagined I would see a review of it, Very Happy that you guys remembered this model. Had a Se Saloon back in the day. Loved the sound of the dual cam 1.8 engine. These had the best gear shifter of any Corolla introduced here, it had a very satisfying clinking sound over the shifts, felt solid, don’t remember If I ever grind the gear box. Hydraulic steering ka to apna he maza tha. Miss the road feel that used to come through these mechanical steering’s & yes the brakes were terrible indeed. Later ABS made the brake much better but they were only available on Altis Great Review ❤
i would def buy civic 2003 over this for obvious reasons more features like seat height adjustment better handling better drive more power and way way better brakes!

Bro 2.0D saloon , SE Saloon and Altis had keyless entries or remote keys . This car, s remote is missing may be the key is no more working because of the car being 21 years old or due to some other reasons

Apki 1.3 matlab petrol varient mai is gari ki brakes nahi hain gears pr control hoti hai lekin diesel engine mai brakes aj ki gari sy zyada reliable hain gari control ho jati hai emergency mai 2nd fuel avrage mai ye aj b 1.6 and 1.8 sy zyada achi hai Baqi utilities like lcd and adjustable seats after market mai lag jati hain....in reliability no one can beat this model And cabin noise full windows upar kr k check hoti hai achi condition wali gari mai boht kam hai ap shyd petrol engine k aadi hain isleay zyada lag ri apko.....you got lack of information but content was good keep it up
This model had an innate issue, that being the brake bias. Ideally 2/3rd of brake force must be at front wheels. In this model unfortunately this ratio wasn't observed. This results in brake shoes being worn just after 15,000 km.
The only thing I hate about every deisel corrola is how slow they are 71 horsepower(80 for latest) and less that 130 tourqe with a big ass 2000cc engine
Just go with either a used GLI 1.3 auto if fuel average isn't a concern. If it is a concern, try going for the civic rebirth (it can give u 12 plus average on a light foot). In hatchbacks, my personal opinion would be not to go for a JDM car unless it's vitz cause parts despite being available are pretty expensive.
