I'm still a solo miner. (As in, how in heaven's name do you multibox? I have enough trouble handling one body. Two? Bob!) Obviously started in the Venture, then graduated to the Procurer! That was a joyful day, that first Proc. Now, after about a year and a half, I dared to purchase my first Retriever. Zounds! That thing has room! And it's only a bit slower than the Proc and TWICE the ore hold! Decided to take the plunge after watching this series. Most grateful for the change, Sir. o7
Same, I had a Retriever from when I played in 2014 and now its more effective, when it used to take forever to fill the hold.
Great series, there are a lot of solo miners, usually newer players, so this series is invaluable to us. Thank you for taking the time. I created an alt but have no idea what to do with it, so it does nothing!
I came back after 7 years for the anniversary. I had my Hulk from when we were still jet can mining, before ore holds. Since I've been back I bought a procurer and while I want to use my Hulk, the idea of such frequent trips to unload sounds like too much work. I really like the procurer. I feel like the whole mining barge class really shines now with the ore holds because you get more value for your time I feel. More time with lasers on has got to win in the end although I haven't done any actual math on it. Maybe I'll bring the Hulk out and give it a try.
I generally use my endurance for lowsec. Even while the prospect is more slippery, i can tear rocks apart faster i an endurance
A bit later i will start skilling into a procurer/retriever, and even a porpoise
Just a quick question those implants you mention do you lose them if you get killed? They are expensive!
If your pod gets killed, yes.
the big problem with solo extraction to do your own manufacturing is getting moon materials. As soon as you want to build T2 stuff you're stuck there
I disagree, I’ve made deals with small corps to mine their moons.
@@JAKEL33T That's a good suggestion! Have to start hunting moon-mining operations and talk with their diplomats. Deals is Fun!
I still dont understand the Compression, what does it take for someone to get that without a fleet?

Usually i just mine the whole fields, 2 macks 5 retrievers and i let 1 main mack go back and forward to base to store everything.
Is there a reason you dont use mining drones?
