I just left comments on two other Yamaha 350s saying I bought one new but as soon as I saw this video I knew this was the year and model I'd had. Great street racer, except for needing a brace in the middle of the frame that the RD models got. I could still stay ahead of most other riders doing street racing on twisty country roads. Newbies had to watch out for the need to modulate your throttle when accelerating hard--wide open at lower RPMs would flood the carburetors. As long as you knew what you were doing it was super fast. A joy to ride. Bit of a widowmaker if you didn't know what you were doing. But I did. My only complaint was the lack of a fuel gauge. It was fun blowing off the rhinestone cowboys in their cafe racers. This doesn't look nearly as fast as it was.
Beautiful bike but has no idea this was a 2 stroke. I'm always used to Two strokes being dirt bikes and having those big resonator pipes coming off of them and this one of course doesn't. I'm curious what this sold for
So is this like a dirt bike where you can't engine brake and always have to be in and out of the gears when driving it. Sounds like a muffled version of my YZ125
We had a 1969 R1 several years ago in green. I think 1969 was the last model year for the YR1/YR2/R3 series bikes. 1970 was the introduction of the R5 which looks very similar to the RD350. Very cool bikes.

R5 was next, then the RD350!
My first motorcycle.
First year '67 yes made for a road racing bike not a dirt bike. Would love to have this one! Bought mine back in 1973. "Grand Prix" was road racing.
Love it
Can I buy one
